This is my Xtrail, a lot of other videos mention a level tube inside the fill plug. Mine didn't have that... I read about someone inserting a spare, clean oil dipstick and marking the level before the drained the original transmission fluid. That sounds like a good idea to me although I admit I didn't do it haha

I also struggled to get the stupid fill cap off, I basically broke the tab and then it came off 🤦🏻♂️
The adjustment plug is not on the side of transmission. It’s under transmission
