    I'm happy every time an Apple device is repaired, of course because their repairing polytics. And if you are the technician who does it, makes them to be ashamed because, with your knowledge, you are demonstrating them and everyone that is not necessary to change full boards to repair any of their devices. As always, congratulations.

      The futher shame for Apple is the lack of parts for unauthorized repair shop and so one must rely on donor board, as Alex does...regards from Italy.

    • @carlosgomez_c137
      @carlosgomez_c137 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@paolomonai9511 there are a lot of spare parts available for repairing, but from IPhone X to now most of them are paired with the motherboard, so you can't use them without losing funcionality. I was referring to the shameful repairing way from Apple, who only offers to their users complete part replacements (or deny repairing, just what happended to LTT) instead of repairing them, and at indecent prices.

      There’s a reason for that. You don’t think they know it isn’t necessary? Lmao. They would prefer to sell you a new device and then fix it themselves and sell in another mac as refurbished.

    So you remove the faulty Mosfet and replace it with a donor Mosfet.
    Is there no way that you can test the donor one to see if there is an equivalent new Mosfet available?
    The only reason i ask is it might come to a point where you have say 3 customer boards all needing the same mosfet to be replaced and only two donor boards, so one has to be unfixable.
    Love the channel..

    How do you make sure other components on the front of the board don't get desoldered while you were applying heat from the bottom? I was worried solder will liquify in one of the components on the front of the board and then fall off due to gravity.

    • @d3vastat0r89
      @d3vastat0r89 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      These kinds of multilayer PCBs do not conduct heat easily. They tend to soak it up. I tried once with a UE speaker to remove a set of through-hole pins by just applying heat to one side. I ended up giving up. The PCB and lead-free solder make it very difficult.

    Perfect video to show my sibling that I need her to be big boss.
    I been taking consoles and joysticks apart and back together since the dawning of Atari 2600..
    And as technology grew as time passed as devices broke down friends or my own that I would fix.
    Atari 2600 /400 /800.
    Turn tables, tape decks, cd players, up to present time building a DK05 L~L
    2 computer desk build.1 Asus board, 2 Gigabyte Extreme WF board..
    🌝An older Asus board P7Z77-V Deluxe mb with a onboard error code 55. Pertains to memory area.
    So I examined the board and on the upper right side I found a blown Mosfet and a broken off aluminum caps that pop like popcorn.
    Replaced both parts and a year ago I could not get the solder to come close to melting. Then I found you and Flux and copper weave made removal and installation great. But to no prevail. Still same error 55.
    Soon to try resinpowder to look for short. But a bit busy with the desk.
    I replaced the board for $179. Exact same and memory sticks from bad board work great in new board as well as processor.
    So now old board a test/practice board.
    Or at least donor parts for future.
    If I strike out and not embarrassingly deform the board I will send to u. Pay of course either way. Just to see video and 99.9% chance of better than factory job.
    Any hoot it's 6th gen Intel and won't be able to run Windows 11. Not only missing TPM chip, the processor does not conform.
    But video would be cool 😎. It would come with mounted processor and two sticks memory. Lay it on bench and power up...👍🏻🤷🏻‍♂️🌝
