    Anyone have issues with overheating? I’m new to the GP family, used it twice and can’t get it to record for more then 20 minutes at a time before it over heats. I’m in Florida, yes it’s hot.

    • @JakeRichandAnnaChah
      @JakeRichandAnnaChah  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      it depends on a range of factors, the camera cools from the bottom so if it's just lying on your desk, you'll need to mount it and have the mounting pins down so the camera can best dissipate the heat. Also, important to note that gopro designed the camera for an average user, which only records on average of 3-5 minutes per clip, so 20 minutes is a definite anomaly, which they didn't design the camera for.

    Omg thank you sooo much! I just wanted to know basic settings for like capturing road trips. I don't need an entire lesson on using a camera. No time.
    You have so many extras including that heavy duty BLUETTI AC70 but yet you don't have one of 'those doors', the USB Pass-Through Door. I thought that was interesting and funny since that was one of the first things I bought to use with the portable charger power bank, lol.
    I'll never be a pro like you but that's ok. Thanks for the great vid!

    Hey bro! Love that ur back! So hypersmooth uses a ton of light…its a part of the algorithm for all digital stabilisation. So in low light the artifacts that you see in your gopro image is due to insufficient light for hypersmooth to work and u also end up seeing jitters in the image. That being said turning hypersmooth off allows the image to be cleaner as the jitters and artifacts disappear! Also cant wait for ur next travel adventure!

    • @JakeRichandAnnaChah
      @JakeRichandAnnaChah  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Important to remember that gopro is an action camera designed for action sports filmmaking, oftentimes the best clips seen in gopro commercials are recorded in full sun, if you really want to shoot in the dark, use the photo modes not video or avoid action cameras and upgrade to full frame camera with some wide aperture lenses :)

    • @Mike_Oscar
      @Mike_Oscar 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JakeRichandAnnaChah i dont necessarily want to shoot in the dark but more in a vlogging way. So meaning you are having many different scenarios from you being outside and then for example you walking from outside to inside a mall, but then when doing this in the dark shadows or just overall not so good lighting the footage is full with grain. So i notice like your garage scene where there is bad lighting you dont have grain but me with the same settings i do have a lot of grain. So did you edit out the grain in post or are there some more better settings that work for vlogging where you go from outside to inside, inside a car etc. all these things even going inside a car which i consider bad lighting produces grain for me

    Hi Anna and Jake. I hope all is doing fine for You. Back in the loop ..after some time 🙃. Did follow you …and glad all went well during the Morocco trip. Sounds like you are back to Australia for Summer Season.😉 Thx for sharing your expertise. Didn’t purchase the Gopro 12 yet…but that video was pretty interesting and did allow me to see some new things. Glad most of accessories are compatible with previous Gopro’s..from what I did understand. As usual you did very well bringing some beside comments when relating the features.👍 Concerning the Bluetti AC70 to get that kind of stuff is clearly required for outdoors fun. 🤙

    I still have the hero 5 and I still dont know everything. Sometimes when there are SO MANY FEATURES on a camera it can become OVERWHELMING to a NEW customer, even intimidating. I know I am not the only one who wonders why they need all those features?
    Which is why i will stay with my Hero 5 and Hero 360 camera

    Thanks for the great video. What about Bitrate and 8-Bit/10-Bit? Did I missed it in the video? Is it worth in case of not doing any post? It is always a tradeoff with the settings 5k vs. HDR vs. 8:7 vs large FOV - you can’t have everything. So you’re experience is that HDR is worth the „loss“ of 5,3k?

    • @JakeRichandAnnaChah
      @JakeRichandAnnaChah  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It really depends on your use case and how advanced you are with your editing, if you're 100% color grading every shot, of course, use LOG + 10 BIT but most beginners or intermediates are still focusing on developing their editing and learning how to use the camera so I've tried to keep things simple and focus on enjoying the filming process before getting wiped out by the editing process :)

      @TravelFox01 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your reply. I definitely not doing any post in addition to the functionalities of the Quick app 😊. So High Bitrate / 10 Bitrate will slightly improve the quality at least a little bit or not at all? My use case is MTB POV and Hiking. Due to MTB POV I will use SV/HV a lot however I am thinking of using just 8:7 in wide and than flexible change to SV/HV 16:9 or even 9:16 in post😢 in the quick app … would it be a difference or are the digital lenses in the app exactly the same as in the GoPro directly? Do you have any experience if the digital lenses are different 8:7 App vs. 16:9 GP?

    @JakeRichandAnnaChah for my trip to Iceland I bought the Gopro Hero 12 and I'm exploring the settings. Can I ask for your advice on 3 scenarios in which I intend to use my gopro in Iceland? 1/ mounted in the rental car, hooked up on the car charger. Goal is to document the amazing surroundings with as little fisheye effect as possible. 2/ Outdoor filming in mostly overcast/sunny weather (weather can change suddenly in Iceland). 3)/ selfie stick filming/ documenting surroundings as I walk. I prefer not to have the typical bobbing effect you see when you film while walking. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you. By the way: I bought a bunch of 256GB and 128 GB Sandisk SD cards. The journey around the northern part of the island lasts 13 days.

    In what situations should I use the 8:7 aspect ratio? Using this aspect ratio greatly limits lens and frame options. And if you use HDR it is even more limited.

    • @JakeRichandAnnaChah
      @JakeRichandAnnaChah  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In situations where you want to publish your video in vertical and horizontal. Moments where you know that the taller frame 8:7 will give you the pixels you need , in a fleeting moment. Think underwater wildlife encounter, or something where you may not get many seconds of interaction, but where those seconds could be later used for more aspect ratios 🤷🏽‍♂️💫 swimming with a dolphin perhaps?
