- Gorsch continues to clash with Boden at the firehouse and escalates his efforts as he takes Boden’s place as leader when 51 responds to a call of a poisonous gas exposure at an apartment.
Season 7 Episode 6 "All the Proof"
After the call, Gorsch-clearly over his head as a field commander-threatens various insubordination charges against the team and against Boden. Severide receives devastating news about his father. Cruz tries to teach everyone how to speak Spanish following the last call. Casey and Naomi continue working together when she discovered more damage about the trailer manufacturer. Foster tries to get Brett in the spirit of Halloween. Chaplain Orlovsky announces his retirement and introduces 51 to his successor, Chaplain Kyle Sheffield (Teddy Sears). Later on, Severide gets emotional after Boden reveals to him that his father did one final act of kindness. Gorsch is removed from 51 for good.

People don’t realise what is happening sometimes, even with a strong smell. I was in my room and I smelt something weird. I was 12 at the time, but I just Ignored it, my mom came into the room and started coughing. It turns out the heater in my room was leaking gas and 10 more minutes could have probably killed me.

One time my fire alarm went off in my house when I was sleeping, and it woke me up but I either didn't register that it was the fire alarm and not just a loud sound, or my brain somehow told me that it was malfunctioning. I ended up staying in bed and trying to go back to sleep. Luckily there was no fire, but it took until next morning and someone saying something to me to realize what happened
@@catlady395 omg! Glad you're ok, one time when I was little we had a fire friday night, both me and my brothers didn't wake. Thank G-d my parents did and put it out, but it's really scary now that I think of it ,and have a son myself!

Technically it was because when Boden was a captain Gorche was a candidate under him with zero ability or talent, he told his chief and they sent him to do desk work which he got multiple promotions during, none of which doing actual firefighting
so if anything its thanks to boden he is where he is.

They mind not have noticed it when something slowly changes people often don’t see it or they simply didn’t react because no one Else was reacting
I'm not sure if it's the case here but sometimes chemicals can affect the way you think and make it so you can't think straight or logically, so they might not have thought to leave because of how the gas was affecting them.
If they leave when they notice the smoke, they wouldn't be able to sue for compensation later.

I think technically if somones does suicide, it would bring another people down no matter what. Even if it's not an act that could endangering others like drink a poison or hanging their body up on the ceiling. It still would affected the people who loves them (mentally) like family, friends, neighbour, and the people who will found their body.

I love that bit where the mother and daughter only speak Spanish but they're lucky because the fire-fighter speaks it too. Makes you think, nowadays most cities are full of expats and people from other countries and not everyone necessarily speaks the lingua franca of that country or English. How situational it can be to have someone there that happens to speak the language needed to communicate such critical information... And true the US having Spanish speaking people around is kinda normal but think of a place with many expats such as Amsterdam in Holland.

I know the idea was to make Gorsch seem incompetent, but they should not have had his speech be so bad. After all, Boden said he was a bad firefighter, but a good politician. It would have been cooler to see him give a riveting speech(which no one cares about since they all know why he's there), but then be incompetent trying to guide everyone at the scene.

During extreme hypothermia the body ironically starts feeling very hot making you want to shed all your clothes despite the fact you will obviously freeze to death, it's likely the people In the hotel were suffering some mental effects from oxygen deprivation or other damage from inhaling chemical fumes, the loud banging and shouting from the firemen could have shocked them back into some sanity

@Ben GV tach isn’t technically dead thats asystole (flatline),V tach is the heart beating so fast and it can’t pump properly and cannot send oxygenated blood to the body as a result…..V tach is shockable and if it’s not pulseless V tach you can actually be in it for hours,and while unsafe to leave it,it’s definitely treatable,asystole is treated with meds,and CPR,not shocks and once you go into asystole there is less than a 2% chance of survival…if you leave someone in pulseless V tach they will go into asystole (key word here is pulseless)

Some chemical info: When that fireman said in that suicide couple hotel room about Chloramine. That is a substance of Chlorine and Ammoniac. Chlorine was used as toxic gas on WWI. Ammoniac is also highly toxic as liquid and gas form.

Peeing on bleach produces the gas too (there's ammonia in pee) ... Make sure you flush a bleach toilet before you use it!

First, that pair was a pair of idiots. Were they planning on killing the entire hotel, or were they just blind?
Second, the way Gorsch was acting this whole time shows he's not cut out to lead, and probably shouldn't even be in the force. Stammering, not calling in the hazmat team as soon as he got word they were needed, and generally just not doing or saying anything constructive are clear signs of someone unqualified for the job.
He liked hearing his own voice and took the job because he wants to have authority but is completely clueless. How could anyone hire him and not realize that he isn’t qualified.
Gorsch should never become a motivational speaker. that was a shocking pep talk. "Yeah well, people die, it's not our fault, get on with it, have a good shift"
