I have tried making this rice for the last 5 thanksgiving’s for my Haitian husband and this is the 1st time it came out perfect. Thank you for being so thorough and giving us step by step. If you follow this recipe it will come out perfect.
I am a white American woman and this is one of my most favorite dishes! I had a very dear friend who was Haitian and she used to make this for me ALL the time. She invited me to her house and tried to teach me how to make this but she didn't use measurements and we talked & laughed about so many things I couldn't remember what she did teach me LOL. I noticed you didn't use clove or did I miss it? She told me clove was commonly used in Haitian cooking. I can't wait to try this. Your instructions are very good, and it seems like I might be able to finally make this.
Most Haitians don’t measure lol but i always try to when making recipes for TH-cam. You can use cloves if you want to, but I hate them if you ever bit one by mistake you would understand why 😫 lol
I am loving these Haitian recipes yess u are harilous while your cooking lol telling the ppl don’t come for u the only thing ppl should be doing learning how to make this declious recipe
I thought cooking 🇭🇹 food was difficult (even with my mom's help) until I watched your videos. Thank you for your help and making it fun at the same time. Ps- My husband is from 🇨🇮 and one thing about him, he loves our rice.😂♥️
😂😂 Yo...everything about this lady in this video shows she raised or was taught to cook by REAL Haitians. You inspired me to cook my favorite rice 🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹
I love red beans and rice❤❤❤ I want to be red beans and rice😩 A little to dry for me but that’s just me I don’t like dry food. I don’t even eat white chicken meat. I’m definitely trying this recipe tho.
I love your cooking show on TH-cam you just make it easy for me to learn how to cook plus your a beautiful woman i would love to be with but keep it coming love.
You can use any rice you like. However, each rice requires a different amount of water. Jasmine is 1 1/4 per cup; basmati is 2 to 1; long grain is 1 1/2 percent cup of rice. Hopefully that helps
I'm laughing to myself. My Haitian dad ALWAYS told me don't date women with long nails cause when they cook for you it's dirty. I always like them in women but it be im the back of my head. His new wife.... 💅🏿🇭🇹

Does the type of rice matter? Basmati, Jasmine, long grain etc.?
You can use any rice you like. However, each rice requires a different amount of water. Jasmine is 1 1/4 per cup; basmati is 2 to 1; long grain is 1 1/2 percent cup of rice. Hopefully that helps
Would adding some chicken work if I eased up on the bouillon? I love adding chunk meat to these kinds of meals.
No Friend just sub it for adobo or more salt don’t but chicken in it. You should make the chicken on the side and serve it together.
If somebody serves me red beans and rice and it's all mixed together, I'm flipping the whole table over! 😂 and SOAK YOUR BEANS.
I Need Help on Finding the Seasoning
Which one?
