- In this video, We finish up fixing the issues with the fuel tank. The strainer had perished and fell apart inside the tank, causing the truck to run out of fuel at about 1/4 tank. Also we had to drain a bunch of water out of the tank as it had apparently gotten some bad fuel at some point prior to my buying it.
You should show more of what your doing like where those straps were bolted in the skid plate exc.
I will lay awake at night trying to figure out how that bottom piece got broken up. Maybe the last mechanic busted it putting it back together.
They perish over time and fall apart. It's normal to see this in these trucks. Thanks for watching!
Do either tank sending units have the 2 strainers in them? If not where would I look for them on my '95?? Did the rear tank have the rubber foot/screen as well?
This will be the same process on a 98 right?
is there a fuel pump inside the tank?
Not in the diesel.
@@MacGyversWorkshop ol riley auto parts sold me a pump that goes in the tank so I dont need it?
@@williamwalls2809 If you have one like mine, and its a diesel, then no, you don't need it.
The previous owner disconnected a line to the second tank and now I can figure out where it goes. It leaks when I add fuel. Any ideas? I can't find a fine line diagram for a 97 F350 dually with the 460.
What happens when the truck gas flow keep going back to the tank?
Is the the same for the F350 with 2 tanks??. No screens filters inside the tank??
Quailty entertainment. Dammit i learned something. Guess ima go lay in the driveway with my atv goggles for a while
what were your symptoms before dropping the tank?
The tank would run dry at about the 1/4 tank level.
Heavy breathing
Where did you buy the screen from?
Oreilly's, about $39
*you really want my comment? lol* dang the luck with the mic. wonder if it messed up because it kept catching on everything*
