@@thecommanderduo You are aware cardconjurer is back, right? It isn't catered to MTG like it used to be but the template system lets you still go for it. You just have to upload assets yourself now.
As an artist I just want to thank you for your diligence and note on making sure to credit the artist of the art you found :) made me really happy to see. Thank you so much for making this! Looking forward to making some of my own art for an alt of Reaper King haha
This is gonna be a life saver. I mainly just want to make a bunch of lands, because I like full arts, and I have this compulsive need for every one in a deck to be different >.>
Thank you for all that you do. This helps out so much for making proxies and I actually use them as fun hand outs when I have tournaments with my friends.(I'm not selling the cards just handing them out, 1 per person) your old video I reference alot and I stopped when they took cardconjurer down. I'm glad there is still a way to use it. I'm now going to try to pop out the art and the pixels comment will make that alot easier.
What I think needs mentioning is the bordering - If you're trying to have borderless cards and you use Card conjurer with no further adjustments you'll have 1500x2100, MPC will cut out a bit too much from the border - at 16:30 he mentions that cards have 1632x2220 - if you have a programm that simply changes canvas-size (Not the size of the picture itself) to add black borders, it'll remain borderless and fits well. I mention it here, because I had to experiment to get the right* resolution done... (*I used 1650x2250 and it's barely too much - less than 0,5mm black border) If only I had seen this before I ordered my last cards... 1632x2220 seems to be the perfect fit.
Yeah that’s a fair point. I made this tutorial assuming people would always add the margin border because it will always fit that size 1632x2220 with margins. I also learned if you want to do borderless the margin you add is the first one that puts a full border around the card. I tested it and it won’t have any black around the borderless frame and won’t cut anything out.
Thank you for mentioning this! Even when I add the margin border in Cardconjurer, the card that I download is still 1500x2100. Changing the size in paint will probably change the image itself, not the canvas as you mentioned? Would it work in GIMP to change just the canvas to 1632x2220?
The red dotted lines creeped me out. I thought I did something wrong but thats how it looks on yours too. I see it cut the extra margin off in preview. Idk why the red dotted lines though... it makes me think that anything outside it would be cut
I really appreciate you showing the in depth process. Ive tried to follow the reddit post to install OG card conjurer but its still not working. Do you know of a video to show the whole process?
Hi mate, I would suggest you looking into Raster Masks as they allow you to do a similar thing but a bit more accurate in my opinion, great video though
Super cool. I definitely want to print some proxies sometime for those really pricey cards. What I'd really like though is for someone to do one of these but for Yugioh cards. There's plenty of custom Yugioh card makers but there doesn't seem to be any tutorials on how to print them on MPC. I've got a handful of fully custom archetypes that I'd love to have as physical cards. Got a link to the artist of those Zelda arts used for those lands?
As the artist and not the tech person please PLEASE I beg for you to explain how to get the card properly sized to for when I want to use the file to buy on MPC. Either I am over thinking it or something is not adding up for me. I can't seem to get the cards text to fit within the red lines even remotly close! I am working on downloading the cardconjurer to my computer thinking that will change the outcome but I am so stumped.

Thank you man! this is such a good tutorial! I just finished ordering me and some family some cards. I ordered 270 cards using s33 cardstock, gloss finish, shrink wrapped for a subtotal of $97.95, $20.99 standard shipping (lowest shipping cost) and a $7.30 sales tax for a total of $126.24 for those of you who want a update on prices. I am in the US.
Tried to run this locally and holy shit I am so confused. I may be too stupid but I followed the instructions through the posted link and can't get it to work. Don't understand all the coding parts...
Good video. But I am going to note to any interested who see this that cardconjuer is back up, its just not dedicated to MTG anymore. However, the template system will let you upload assets to the platform so you technically can still make your MTG cards.
Man, this video got be VERY excited about being able to print my cards and designs but after I completed all the steps shown in the video I went to the checkout page and it's 66usd to ship it to Brazil....it's literally the same exact distance to the US and I order stuff from that same area very often paying little to no shipping fees. It made this whole project of mine a waste of my time and energy and I'm so dissapointed...I wanted my cards so bad.
As of April 2nd 2024 the website is completely different from this video and I can’t even do anything compared to what you are doing. Is there a way to fix this or am I just out of luck.
Could you do a video on how you made them yourself? I know how to acetone the fronts but am a little lost how to get a card image made and transferred onto a card thats been wiped.
I'm trying to input the art I made in photoshop into MPC and I cant get the cards to resize correctly to upload them into MPC. No matter how I change the size in photoshop, MPC acts like I did nothing to change the card size and still gives me the same borders cut the same way. Does anyone know how to fix this. I have over 200 proxies I've made in photoshop. These printout just fine in the dimension I need for paper proxies. I want to make the cards look more official using MPC. I've even tried other trading card makers and none are as good or easy to use as MPC. The next step for me would be to just buy a high quality printer and use cardstock to print the cards onto. I feel like its stupid to spend that much money when I COULD USE MPC IF ONLY THE DAMN PICTURES WOULD FIT PROPLEY. I might have rigged the game from the start by using a card border from a card on scryfall and I use the original text for the cards off of scryfall from my proxies.
Oof. Well, it depends. If they all have a black border or if they're all extended art it should be pretty easy to fix. If it's full art, its going to be really hard to fix.
Okay so this is a bit of a big question, I don’t have the resources to make these atm unfortunately, any chance you make these for people who pay you for them? Like they just put in their suggestions and whatever images they want used and you make some custom cards and send it through to them for a fee of however much? My only problem is I don’t have any computer to run this on and it seems wildly different using it on my phones web browser. If not then all gucci bro thought I’d ask tho

Is there someone who can describe me how you run the conjurer on a mac? I don't get this docker-thing done. At the point I should run the "make-command" it doesn't work.
Great video as always! But has anyone tried to play with the settings of mpw for the foil versions? I feel like changing saturation or brightness on foils would fix the dull colors on foils
Yes I did a test batch already. They still came out dull with the overlay of the foil. I cannot get it to look good. Since they put the foil layer process over the card it will always darken and dull it. I would love to see if anyone has found some kind of way to make them look good but I have definitely tried already lol
@@thecommanderduo the foils you showed at the end that you made personally looked really good dude. I've done the same thing before but my results weren't as good. I think I need higher quality photos for a start but I'm curious what kind of transparency paper you used because the ones I made ended up a little thicker than I would prefer.
This video appears to be outdated as CardConjurer has changed what their site has and is. There is no "import/Save" you CANNOT type in the name of a card and it pull that all up, they DO NOT have all the different card types they've removed all that. Unless your using "the wayback machine" or something to make use of their old database and features the site looks NOTHING like what your working with and it's amazing your video is only 2 months old.
Sorry I didn't see this comment sooner. Yes if you look in the video I am running it locally and have included a link in the description on how to run it.
great video. two questions: 1) why put saturation higher on cardconjurer? will it not be vibrant enough? 2) did you ever have to upscale the DPI of pictures uploaded to MPC. i think cardconjurer saves your png as 96 DPI and MPC says at least 300.
Sometimes I just like the extra color pop with the saturation but its by no means necessary. I would say no, I have submitted some really high res upscaled cards that are about 30mb per card and they still turn out the same as something that's much lower res. Their printing only go so high. They just want you to have high quality card images so that they don't turn out really blurry and such.
Hi, thanks A LOT for this. You unlocked so much :p There is something I can't figure out though. Is there a way to remove the black border at the bottom of the frames ? I'd like to have my cards completely full art. If not, is there a way to modify/create a frame to import it after ? Thanks in advance for anyone helping me.
Can you show how you run Cardconjurer locally? I have followed the post steps multiple times on that Reddit thread with no luck. I've asked a question on that thread with no one attempting to answer it..
Did you do the WAMP method? That's how I installed it, once on windows 10, and on Windows 11 with no issues. I saw they have a couple other newer ways now too.
i created a card on mtgcardbuilder but when i want to print them on makeplayingcards the cards are just always to big. do i have to create the card on cardconjurer?
I Started making cards recently and the real hard part is the type of card stock to print on. My printer has no issue with 300gsm paper but it’s so thick. This method seems so cheap it may be the way to go.
Cool, I've wanted to make a pixel art theme for some zombies like those old arcade games with the little blasters but didn't know where to customize the card so I can make it look all cool without ruining the text
