I haven’t been able to connect my phone via CarPlay for weeks. I took my car into the dealership and they couldn’t fix it, I took it to the auto tech dept in Best Buy and they couldn’t fix it. If I had only found this video first, it would have saved me from the frustration of thinking I was never going to be able to use this feature. I tried EVERYTHING you said to do in this video. I went to connect to my Mini Cooper and it connected instantly! Thank you!!!
In my case: I disabled Bluetooth in iOS to prevent it from pairing wirelessly with the radio because in this mode, curiously, Apple CarPlay was never activated. Then a prompt appeared and I accepted CarPlay connects only by wire. Then the radio recognized media device on USB and CarPlay connected. I prefer this wired connection, the audio quality is superior and the apps work more fluidly. I suspect that when both interfaces (bluetooth and usb cable) are activated, some conflict occurs and a bluetooth synchronization prevails without activating CarPlay.
Here is what worked for me and may help you. I have a 2021 Chevy Suburban. OnStar could not help and I spent hours deleting and adding iPhone both via USB and Bluetooth only with no luck. OnStar said to turn off truck and then open and close driver door and wait 3 minutes to reset the vehicle. I had tried that before I called OnStar. Here is the fix which is a true reset. Simply open the hood of your vehicle and locate the negative lead to the battery. Take an appropriate wrench or socket to loosen the nut and remove the negative lead(s) from the battery. Wait 30 seconds then put back and secure the nut. You will hear some relays click etc. which is a great thing. Now close your hood, start your truck and add your device. It should work again. You’re welcome
Ok, so I just followed your instructions to the T right until forgetting the car under car play and recomnecting it cuz the following step you described sounded complicated. So I parked and went on my honda crv screen and went to settings -> connections -> bluetooth -> and made sure my phone (out of the 2 devices that are saved)was checked as “priority” on it’s carplay options (options were audio, phone and carplay). The moment I did that carplay appeared all over the screen and things went back to normal. Hopefully that will continue to be the case, I’ll update this comment if the issues come Back 😅
What I just found out, when connected to a USB cable to a vehicle, carplay seems not to work when a VPN may be on. I know this was the case with Google. One VPN enabled. Once Google one VPN was disabled, everything worked normally.
I cannot get my iphone 14 pro max to connect car play with my vauxhall combo life , ive tried every step on every vid, and made sure all the settings are right and the car never turns up in my available cars, i can play music through bluetooth but the apple carplay and android auto screen is useless, the connectivity button is greyed out and just does nothing
I am facing the same issue brother. I have toyota veloz and apple carplay is not working with my iphone 14PM. The buttons for usb and ipod are greyed/disabled and upon connecting with USB it gives error that ‘no response from device’. Did you find any solution to this problem?
None of the steps from any video worked. The only thing that fixed me iPhone projecting on the screen was changing my car’s settings (enable carplay). It automatically turned off

Thank you. I went through 8 other videos. It was the screen time issue

Also make sure that CarPlay isn't restricted. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions.
Thank you!
