    THANK YOUUUUU!! I have a 2019 CRV, and this problem has been driving me crazy for 2 1/2 years! It is literally the only thing I don’t like about my car. I’ve even considered getting a new vehicle just because of this problem. Of course I love it for music, but CarPlay is necessary for the visual screen on my navigation apps. It’s so frustrating when it suddenly stops working. I have even brought it to the attention of the Honda service department two different times, and no one could help me! I can’t believe they didn’t know how to fix it. Once again, thank you so much! I’m so glad there are brilliant people like you in this world who want to help the rest of us!

      I agree! It's such a relief to find someone who actually knows how to fix these problems. The Honda manual was useless, and other online videos weren't much help either. I even went to the AT&T store where a nice sales clerk tried to help me, out of the goodness of her heart. The problem had nothing to do with AT&T, but you have to try everything. I finally figured out that I had to delete my phone; re-add it, then re-pair it (no one suggested that). But I couldn't figure out how to get CarPlay to function again with my apps, SO, this video was a lifesaver. No where was I instructed to press the volume/audio button--the key to the whole process. Disgraceful that this is such a difficult maneuver.

    I have a 2021 Honda CRV, and there have been frequent car play connect problems for the past year, but since yesterday it didn't work at all,
    so I tried to call the dealer or make a reservation... but after watching your video, it took me just 2 minutes to reboot and fix it.
    It really helped me a lot and saved my time to go to the dealer. Thank you so much!!

    I have a 2020 Honda CRV and this worked beautifully. I took it to the Honda Dealership and was told that this was a problem with Apple no longer being compatible with the Honda interface. Ridiculous. I really appreciate your post! Thank you!! : ))

    So empowering! I fixed it myself and know what to do if it happens again. Wish I had seen this before making a trip to my Honda dealer service who suggested something more complex.

    Dude, you just saved me a couple hundred dollars... I have a 2019 Civic and was having this exact problem. Took it to the Honda dealership and they were dumbfounded, said it would cost $200 just to fiddle around with it and find out what was the problem. So I hightailed it out of there, googled and found you. It took me 10 seconds to reset. Thank you :)

    Fantastic, it worked perfectly, I have a crv 2021. Honda dealer said get a genuine cable and try it as others never work, I have used non-genuine for 3 years no problem until now. You saved me so much headache and money, you’re awesome.

    For those of you with a 2024 CRV Hybrid (mine is a sport touring) this works but you won’t get the reboot prompt. The infotainment system won’t do anything. So I thought it didn’t work. But after about 3 minutes CarPlay reconnected. It was to only thing that worked after 3 days of trying everything else. Thanks to the op!

    Best video ever! Compared to so many other hard reset options that don’t directly address the issue! Cheers. Customized my wallpaper and settings etc and this simply fixed the issue without completely wiping my saved stuff!

I don’t know how to thank you so much for this information it’s 12:30 AM here on the East Coast and I ran downstairs to my Honda CRV and did exactly what you said to do and worked like a charm! The dealership said I had to connect my phone with a factory charger but I can't because it's C type in both damn ends no USB. So what did I do...went to five below for a charger. Still nothing.     Apple Car play locks up in my 2017 Honda. I dont know one person who own a Honda where Carplay does not lock up. Its enoying when using the maps and the map locks up. It happens to me (and every Honda owner I know) all the time.

    This is an FYI. I had the same problem & watched this video. Was about to go try it but when I started my CRV, everything connected like before so I guess the cooldown after I got home was enough for it to reset? Or the car "unstupid" itself. 🤣 The car was off about 15 minutes. I'm sure this will be helpful next time I need it. Thanks!

    Honda civic 2020. Was having a bluetooth issue where i couldnt turn the Bluetooth from any option. These instructions fixed that. Thank You VERY MUCH.

    Thank you sooo much! I spent so much time trying to figure out how to fix this. I read the manual and it offered no help at all. When I googled it, the first couple of things I saw suggested getting an Apple brand charger, so you just saved me the money not having to do that. I’m go on a long drive tomorrow and the idea of not having my map available on the screen was stressing me out. Thank you once again!

    Ayyy this actually worked. I’ve watched a tone of videos on trouble shooting CarPlay but for some reason none of them mentioned rebooting it
