I have always loved playing Paladin. I started as a Zealot, but as the years went by, I moved on to Hammerdin. I was very critical of Diablo 3 when they released the footage and trailers, and was very disappointed when it was actually released, but I'm hoping Diablo 4 brings back more of what I experienced with Diablo 1/2 19+ years ago. (I feel old).
Yeah i played a zealot when i first started. Never switched off though since i'm new to the diablo community. Although i like diablo 2 a lot more then 3, i actually have more progress on 3, and i like certain improvements they've made and whatnot. The class ideas are also really cool, especially the monk and wizard, since they brought a new type of elemental damage being arcane, and for the monk it was nice seeing them as not a joke like they were in d1 (from what i've seen and played.) Basically to sum it up i want d4 to have quality of life improvements of d3 but move away from the warcraftish art style, and bring back *some* of the d2 systems
then there's me who played a nec as a newbee years ago with str build using a great sword to hack whatever comes my way coz he looks like a rock star with long gray hair!
Hi Mrlama! I just end up D2LoD thanks to You!!! It's nice to look at how You love that game. Lvl Nightmare on my way. ;) Greetings from Poland! Edit: Lvl Hell now... It's horrible ;_;
Paladin OP now, but when the game was first released, he was trash. Later patches made him OP, especially pre 1.13, a Hammerdin could wreck everything. Only the most recent patches nerfed him a little.
I wouldn't say that. Zealot was pretty strong always, but I hate playing him against enemies with curse. You can easly suicide on them. Hammer was trash before synergies. :)
Already beat baal in holy fire build but they said I should switch to hammerdin build which is I don't how it's actually works cuz my present build it couldn't survive in NM.
This guides could improve if you showed pre geared/made characters so that new players could see how they play out bette. Keep up the good work llama!!!
Resist Lightning increases the Paladin's lightning resist. It also gives a passive bonus. For every two hard points invested into Lightning Resist, the Paladin gets a passive +1 to maximum lightning resist that is active at all times regardless of whether the aura is turned on or not. So with 20 points invested (not counting + skill items), the maximum lightning resist of the Paladin would be 85 instead of the regular 75. This is true for the 3 resist auras
Sanctuary does not share. I still use Azurewrath with normal attack on my summon Druid. Lvl 54 dire wolves are no joke but they still don’t survive chaos and higher.
@@MrLlamaSC TY! Also, other question. I know that if monster has 100+ resist than i need an aura or curse to break it. Also i know that aura and curse work at 1/5 of their strength. But i dont understand: do they have 1/5 strength for the full value or only till they reduce the resist below 100%, and after that the rest applies at full strength? For example: monster has 110 resist. I have -125% aura. Will resist become 85 or 25? Also, if i m a cold sorceress and have friend-pally, who has -125% aura, will he break monster's immunity first and after that my cold mastery will be applied at 100% power? Or 1/5 of its strength?

"Magic Immune" If they are UNDEAD the magic immune does not apply. I thought there was 1 monster in the game that has immunity to H-Din. And as someone said,, act 3.
Can't say I really agree with the analysis on Holy Shield. It's not like Paladin was given something absolutely insane on top of his already great kit. Without Holy Shield, the Paladin has pretty much nothing for survivability. Melee Druids and Barbs will run around with 2k health where Paladin will barely break 1k (talking single player self-found). All of his defensive skills are exclusive to one another and to offensive auras, so where Barb can stack defense with Shout and Iron Skin, Paladin can't do the same with Defiance. I'd say, if anything, Holy Shield is something of a crutch, it's basically one broken ability holding the entire class together. As a result, Paladins have pretty much no option but to go for shields cause they just don't have any survivability otherwise, which, to me, seems really boring and takes away a lot of the interest in figuring out your defenses for the class. It's like if all Necromancer damage spells mostly sucked but then they were given something that just blows up entire screens without any effort off of one monster's corpse...wait.
Hrvoje Šincek ahhh I see. Yes, I was talking about stats. Specifically the starting stats and why Mr. Llama spends so much time going over the starting stats for each character. Like the fact that necromancer starts with too low vitality, or that barb starts with too low energy, etc etc etc. That’s what I meant. I think it’s pretty much useless to talk about them because after level 4-5 it doesn’t matter really what your starting stats were.

I recomend Zealot bulid its very expensive but fun totally worth it :D and Auradin for PvP and Leagues
Think about the title in the context of the video. Considering he talks almost entirely about beginner topics and how paladin works fundamentally, it IS a first look. It’s not literally a first look at the game, as you think it is.
I bought Diablo 2 a few weeks ago. I was disappointed with this class! I put most of my points on the defiance aura and duriel killed me a few times. I put a lots of points on str and still not good to go. A barbarian or a necro is a better class. In my opinion.
The class itself is kind of trash as there are only a few good builds you can use with it. Hammer pal is the most broken build in the game but allows for next to no deviation and is only viable late game.

Character to put points into energy - Energy Shield/Zeal/Ench Sorceress
can you use auras while using other abilities ? or just when you have the aura selected?

they would probable be longer tho hmm
Yeah I will go over gear in the future I think. For now I just wanted to give general sense of the characters
Is it true that aura skills when are not equiped give half of the bonus ?

Paly are gods. OP as hell!
I think only the Necro Iron Golem Thorns aura is not shared.
One class to rule them all
Zealot or Hdin?
What if you run concentration with zeal would that prevent you getting hit while attacking?
yes it would reduce the chance for interrupt
Great guide :)
Sanctuary is useful for zealot pally for dealing with physical immune. Most of the immune happen to be undead so handy especially if your on a budget.
AzureWrath

gigglesvideo literally removing immunity
I've learned that pallys can get 10,000+ damage with Blessed Hammer, should they nerf it?
they can get a lot higher than that actually. It gets kinda crazy, could maybe use a small nerf. Biggest issue is that it kills almost every monster
"Magic Immune" If they are UNDEAD the magic immune does not apply. I thought there was 1 monster in the game that has immunity to H-Din. And as someone said,, act 3.
It does. They nerfed Blessed Hammer in 1.13 to no longer ignore the resistances of undead mobs.
