Two years ago I was in Philmont and Pueblano was our second stop. It set the stage for my trek and I still think of that show as one of my favorite Philmont memories. I'm leaving the amazing state of North Carolina in two days to come back to Philmont for Rayado. I have no idea what our itinerary is, but if we stop by Pueblano it'd be awesome to play this song with you guys if there's an extra guitar laying around somewhere.
You guys really were the cherry on the top of my Philmont Trek in 2012. Even today I tell people about my stop in Pueblano where we played Mountainball and heard some very talented guys sing us a ballad about a brave logger. Hope you all are doing well!
I especially remember you, Goldilocks, who while we were listening to the rules of Mountainball, poked his face out of the shadows of the staff cabin, looking very intimidating holding a can of pankpo breadcumbs
Great version,Im so happy to find this song and finally get the words to this ballad I'd heard about for years , I am lucky enough to own a cabin on " Sandy Gray" lake of the Musquash River very close to the roaring falls that this song is about .I can't wait to play Breakfast in hell on the very site of Sandy Gray's demise next time I'm up this fall.
Well for starters it’s not called sandy grey lake it’s a river and I’ve grown up on it and camp at the top of sandy grey falls for years. And where the cottages are they are not near the actual falls. Unless you purposely drive your boat into them. So what do you run into if you were to go the other direction from where you park your car?? Opposite of your cottage ??
@@Andie1620 I don't get the purpose of your rude comment but I will fact check it. I guess it has been quite a while since you paddled down the ole Musquash River into "Sandy lake" as it is designated on the maps of this area. Yes !Map ! what do you know maybe you should try one sometime. The cabin I own has been there for 70 yrs and is 2 minute paddle to the falls made famous by this song. Locally the lake is kown as "Sandy Gray" for obvious reasons if you actually listen to the song. To answer your question :You are already in Wahta Mohawk Territory at the boat launch. If you go east (the opposite direction of the falls )you first go under the highway past the cranberry farm and eventually run into the Hydro damn.Keep going that direction and you end up in Bala. such a great song
@@chipyarwood first off bud I don’t need a map lol actually I have been staying for the past 25 yrs at the first set at the family friends cabin and property they have had for over 100 yrs Also yes I have been camping at sandy grey for years and fly fished the falls thanks And your totally wrong and think you need a map. You def don’t go by the cranberry fields in bala lmfao you pass by the water bottle company before you get to bala unless you think you can drive through a hydro dam. My family originated in the area, unlike you just another city person acting like they own our back yard.

great job fellas. You should give it a listen at 1.2 speed. sounds even more awesome.
Chuck! He was the best! I personally climbed knotty nancy. I loved the campfire @ Pueblano
A wildfire.
Awesome
Guy on the right must be the foreman.
What is Guy looking at so intently?
Can't decide whether I picture Sandy Grey as the guy 2nd from left or 2nd from right.
That said if it's 2nd from right Sandy Grey is Michael Cera.
Boss slid into a base in loggerball and had to get taken out
I was there too. I can't remember, which one was Chuck?
Same here
SLAID CLEAVES!!!
