Keep the 4 and still buy the Gen 5.... I have a Gen3 20 and a Gen4 29 and definitely going to purchase a Gen5 20... Hell the Average gun nut has more 9mm's and AR's more than anything else, why not have a collection of 10mm's.
I made the same goof and bought a gen 4 literally 2 weeks before the Gen 5 dropped, which i was also waiting for... don't wanna go through the trade-in either.
Keep the Gen 4 and get a Gen 5. It’s better to have more guns these days than not. All because politicians are trying to eliminate guns from citizens. Also if you have kids, it’s just more guns for them to pass down to. For the Glock 20, I have one in Gen3, Gen3(sf), Gen4 and recently the Gen5. I love them all.
I’ll be getting a Gen 4 20 ASAP to compliment my Gen 4 29. I may consider the Gen 5 40 & 41 when they come out. No plan for MOS optics unless on the longer barreled versions. I’m kinda meh on the front serrations & like the finger grooves too, especially in 10mm. I’ m a died in the wool .45 ACP guy but 10 mm is my new passion. Finally got my 29 from the wife for Christmas’22. Love it.
I had a chance to attend a gun show this past weekend and got a chance to hold the Gen 5 in 10mm, and to me, the gen 4 10mm felt better and much more slim vs the gen 5 10mm grip.
Mag release on Gen 4 was also switchable, in this particular pistol, almost no differences at all. The biggest change were in the .40 S&W models with regard to slide weight. Just keep the Gen 4
And what do you think about the ejector plastic part in the back that holds the cruciform and trigger assembly down, I'm really disappointed they changed it from the Jennifer gen 3 where is loaded under a metal spring now it's a plastic polymer pin that holds down the spring and the assembly into the gun

If you already have a gen4 10mm you’re good all day. If you are going to get one for the 1st time then get a gen5 10mm. No reason to upgrade to shoot the same round.
I’ll gladly be keeping my Gen 4. I’ve always thought that the front slide serrations on the Gen 5 look like 💩, and I greatly prefer the finger groove grip frame. I guess I’d better get off my a** and pick up a Gen 4 29 before they turn it into a bar of soap 🧼 with derpy looking front slide serrations.
the front slide serrations make the gen 5 glocks look amazing. The slide finish/coating is way better too. Go hold a gen5 and tell me it doesnt look better lol
@@jackmemphis777The coating on Gen 5’s is questionable in my opinion. It’s definitely durable as hell, but also slicker than snot and gets all smudged up easily too🫤
I just had to return my gen 5 10mm to glock. Kept dropping mags under fire. 19 rounds in the gun and literally every shot mag would fall out of the gun and chew up the mag latch area
When I did this video they were not on their website yet but we're shipped out to dealers to be sold on a specific date. Some dealers did not abide by their rules. Typically when that happens Glock will pull their partnership from those dealers.
I really don't like the new front serations or the tapered front end. I mean it's still better than a burger blaster, as it's European design, but still. They kind of janked what shouldn't have been janked.
I personally don't have any issues with my Gen 5, but I have heard from quite a few people that there is a lot of issues with the Gen 5 series of Glock pistols.

Just bought a gen 4 got it for 450 great deal brand new off a friend. I wanted a 10mm so it was perfect timing.
Welp boys and girls Hell has frozen over Glock has Finally allowed God calibers to be Gen 5's the 10mm and .45 acp means Gen 6 will be here soon.

Have you tried mating the gen5 slide to the gen4 frame? Curious as I have the gen4 G40mos and have the opportunity to pick up a gen5 G20mos slide

You are missing your pin on your Glock 20 Gen 4, you need that pin otherwise some serious safety and mechanical issues WILL OCCUR.
I'll stick with my gen 4 glock 20 like the finger groves on the 10mm better control.

Flaired magazine wells are faster, but can introduce dirt and / or sand into the magazine well which can cause a stuck, partially seated magazine. 🤔

Ive ran a couple mags of hollow points through my G20 gen5 without any issues
You probably kept hitting the mag release on accident.
