One key issue the NYY have is the inability to generate runs. They have 2-3 players reaching bases but you must cross your fingers expecting next 4-5 hitters be able to move the chain. The NYY needs to go crazy and make a big trade....
There are Yankee players and there are Yankees. Are you all in or you a Yankee player. Mental toughness I believe is lacking. Then there's Boone. Does he motivate, inspire, empower players when needed. It's a long season and you need that type of coach.
All will be back to normal once Stanton and Rizzo are back, the Yankees’ poor performance in their absence should give both of them a renewed and refreshed confidence. Seems doubtful the Martian will come up this year, obliques always take longer to heal than they think. Question is how far behind will they be in the division at that point when those 2 do come back? Where will they be in the Wild Card race? I’m thinking 2nd or 3rd. Boston is currently only 7 games back, first team out of a Wild Card spot. Yikes.
Rizzo is becoming another piece of dead wood and seems to have aged quickly. Keep Rice at first and let him learn. You never know what you will get from Stanton and Gleyber.

DJ has not hit well in 3 years, Rizzo has not hit or fielded well following his Traumatic Brain Injury, Cortez has not pitched well, cannot beat any good offense, Clay Holmes has proven that he can not be trusted against any good offense that makes contact, No 3rd baseman, a1st baseman who appears on the downside of his career, an underperforming 2nd baseman, whose fielding has never been great, countered only by his offense, and when his offensive production is not there, there can be no rationale of playing him, a light hitting left fielder, a catcher who couldn't thrown out a senior citizen ambulating with a walker, who has hit, but traditionally slumps terribly in the 2nd half, a bullpen incapable of striking anyone out, pitching to contact, which is always risky and a game of chance that a grounder will find a whole, take a bad bounce, be misplayed, or hit out of the park, Stanton was the one bright spot concerning question marks entering the session, but him incurring any injury and going on the IL for 4-8 weeks at some point in the season was a virtual guarantee.
