The reality is the Yankees are very top heavy in talent and salary, and Cashman, as usually attempted to fill the remaining roster on the cheap with no knowledge of talent or athleticism, and that has come back to haunt the Yankees. The Yankees are the least athletic, slowest Roster in all of MLB, leading all MLB in hitting into double plays. Trashman believed Clay Holmes was a viable closer, NOT. Believed a bullpen filed with guys incapable of striking anyone out could be successful against any disciplined offensive teams was pure stupidity. Bringing in under-performing, over-the-hill players because he has run a system that has chronically failed to draft and develop talent, while other teams are brining up young talent weekly that succeed and help their teams immediately.
