What I love about Man v Food is that it’s so American but it’s not overly-produced or too brash. It’s about real people and Adam is a really relatable host who knows his audience. Although, my god, those challenges must have done him some damage in the long run 😂

4:20 This is what I always say in regards to spicy/hot food. It seems that many times food is so spicy or hot you cannot taste the actual meat. It is an art to get the flavors just right where you can taste the meat in addition to the spices/peppers.
This burger is indeed spicy but jalapeños just are not that hot compared to other foods. I would never do any of the challenges he does but this burger actually seems manageable
A lot of Jalapeños and other peppers that you’d normally buy at the store are usually genetically modified to be less spicy. Try growing some of your own jalapeños or buy organic ones labeled as non-gmo. Then put them in a burger like the one in the video and then you’ll probably rethink your statement right away lol

Well, at least it'd make it taste better. This challenge doesn't even really seem like much of a challenge, just a burger on the menu added for those who love their spice but want beef instead of chicken. Not that that's a bad thing, because I usually hate challenges where it's like "how hot can we make this regardless of how disgusting it tastes?".
With that much fresh jalapeño and added habanero sauce, the cheese won’t take too much of the spice away. The cheese is to add flavor and gooey texture. With that many spice focused ingredients on a burger, you need other things like cheese to balance the flavors out. It’s supposed to be spicy and tasty, not just burn your mouth off spicy.

I've also heard they have a special "Baked Potato" race where their fans bring said taters to the race and throw them at their opponents during the battle. There have been so many complaints the facility that hosts the derby each year has to provide baked potato detectors at each door to stop them from coming in. Their opponents are tired of being bruised & scalded with hot butter, mashed full skinned Idahoes.
Perhaps you all have heard of that race where you throw old banana peels and turtle shells behind you to stop up the opposers ? Oh wait I'm thinking of something else
