I think one of my favorite things about Man v Food was that Adam didn't just eat large amounts of food, the food he ate before the challenge was food he savored and enjoyed, not to mention appreciating the hands that made it. That's what made the show so fun to watch.

Went to Austin several years ago and went to the three places Adam went to on Man v. Food. Round Rock Donuts is totally legit - the big donut is light and pretty much melts in your mouth. Salt Lick sent us home with doggy bags of leftovers that could have filled half a fridge and several gallons of tea. Tremendous places and well worth the effort to go visit.
Hopefully it shuts down due to COVID-19.

When your diet says only one donut
As a Texas native, ATX, I have such the best memories of having these donuts. My aunts even travel long distances just to grab a dozen. Oh and the Texas sized donut is such a monument, my whole family would just cut it up and share it amongst each other. What a behemoth.

Adam really made this show for me . He wasn’t just eating just to eat , the foods actually looked delicious and him going in the kitchen to see the procedures made me really appreciate culinary more

Out of all the man vs food places. Salt lick stands above the rest as the one place id love to try. Food litteraly looks mouth wateringly good.
Try it!! with so much Texas bbq around its hard to stick to just one, everyone has their favorite, once you try salt lick you're gonna want to try others, I recommend Chuds and Valentinas bbq NO crazy lines and damn good bbq
There are better barbecue places in Central Texas (Franklin's, Snow's, and Louie Mueller's, to name a few). Salt Lick is an A-, but not an A+. Put another way, it makes the all-star team, but on the bench on the all-star team. It's more famous than it is good.

For a second at the beginning I thought the "big" donut was supposed to be a food challenge lol. I was like uhh. . Literally visited there years ago, we stayed for 90 minutes and I did two and then asked for another to take back to the house. Lmao.

The first bite out of the first donut out of a batch you just ordered is the greatest sweet thing ive ever tasted. Its everything he said. Its like a donut, but with a candy and cake vibe to it. Best donuts ive ever had. That Sweet potato dough is in another universe as far as texture goes.
I recently gave up eating meat but heard about Salt Lick when I was working down in Texas and would definitely go back to meat for a day to enjoy some of that juicy goodness..

My GF and I went to Austin to watch Eddie Vedder play at UofT. We ate at the Salt Lick and it was awesome!

At 8 years old, I had one of those Texas donuts at my county fair. It wasn’t just the donut, it had an entire sundae on top of it. Somehow, I finished it but later that night, I couldn’t keep it down in my stomach and threw up everywhere.

I like a decent choc-iced doughnut, but there is no way I could eat two pounds of doughnut in one sitting! 🤢

ATX native here and in my 26 years of life I have defeated 3 of the big doughnuts one regular, one chocolate glazed, and one served as a graduation cake fully iced with buttercream frosting

Place out in phoenix called BoSa donuts. Best maple glazed donut. They put bacon on it. It takes like heaven
