Its mean stay away or else Simba will grab your ass from his Sharpen teeths....
Russel Twistzz it means “there comes a lion”
@Russel Twistzz This specific Zulu phrase (which actually roughly is in English “Nants ingonyama bagithi baba) translates to “Behold, here is a future king”

This song feels like it should be the first words you hear and understand when you attain conciousness as a kid. It exudes such a high level of spirituality and wisdom.
❤❤❤❤❤💯
How interesting, as I’ve always felt like these were it for me and my earliest memories
This is the most epic beginning of a movie in this century 👏
Absolutely.
I have told people this many times. Especially the animated version, the beauty and care it was animated. The love, friendship and excitement you feel.
This is the GOAT of all GOATS and it's not even close
its not from this century
I'd say this the most epic beginning of a movie at the moment
25 years later, this song still gets to me!!
just gets to you, right?
It gets to all of us because we grew up with this song and the new generation of kids will definitely get used to this once they see the lion king original movie and the new movie coming out July 19
Yes certainly.
Guyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Crazy how it sounds superbly better than the studio version
The happily crying woman in the audience at 3:53 has no idea how truly human and beautiful she shows herself to be.
When you see your childhood live on stage 😢
For me, there’s something so primal and universal about the Zulu language and harmonies ✌🏻 😭
My son was born to this song, didn't even plan it, as he was coming into the earth this song came on the radio, always brings on happy tears when I hear it.
I hope someone was there to pick him up and hold him in the air like Simba

Good story though, thanks for sharing!! 👍
What an amazing start for your son. :') To add to the circle of life feeling, this song was playing on the radio when I picked up my mum's things from the hospital right after she had passed. She adored Elton John.

This has got to be one of the most perfect performances of any piece, EVER.
Absolutely agree. I've seen the play/musical and many other renditions. I've never seen or heard something as perfect and beautiful as this performance!!
Whatever inspired him to compose this song is not ordinary. The cries of the ancestors echo through this music.
This was composed by Elton John and the lyrics written by Tim Rice. I don't know if Lebo M was the interpreter only singing wise.

No matter how many times I hear this song, it still brings tears to my eyes.
As a Black American who has never been to Africa, something about the opening of this song makes me tear up every time. He has such a powerful and ancestral voice. But it's not just the voice of Africa, it's the voice of Humanity, his voice touches people from every corner of the globe because we all came from the same place at some point.
My brother, you have never left Africa. We hold you in our hearts. We grew up hearing your voices. Tupac, DMX, Mary J. Blige. Lebo M is as much a South African as he is a New Yorker. His voice contains the message of both your ancestors and mine 💚

When they were alone, they practiced their own beliefs (voodoo). It developed into Santeria over time. Im way off topic but seeing Africa in the way that it should be shown, the real beauty of the continent. It also reminds me of my childhood. Even then I was mesmerized by the beauty.
