    Great video. These animals were certainly very unique. Stay safe, and I hope your family recovers well. :)

      We're doing pretty well so far. Basically the only concern right now is how much exposure I had & if I will start showing any symptoms in the next few weeks. Other than that everyone else has been cleared & can leave quarantine, so it's all going well.
      Thanks for checking in though!

      @@RaptorChatter Great to here. Some of my family in England has been affected by it as well, so I completely understand where you're coming from. :)

    @Raptor Chatter - nice. The lizard featured (eating) is an alligator lizard. Once the clamp on, they don't let go. When one of these little critters is biting you it is amazing - you can't believe such a tiny (5 - 13 inches) reptile can bite so hard. Take an average pair of pliers and clamp the toothed part on your finger and clamp so hard the tears come to your eyes - that's what it feels like.

    • @RaptorChatter
      @RaptorChatter  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah, that's actually a really neat features of lizards and other reptiles. Because they have an extra set of holes in the skull they have more connections for jaw muscles, so even in very small packages they can bite very hard.

    Great video as always. Best wishes to your family. I know my comment will most likely not be read by you, but for your next video I would recommend making a "What the Hell is..." video about the archosaur Smok wawelski. It's placement into the theropod dinosaur lineage and later being changed to a rauisuchian I think would be a fun and relatively short topic. Thank you.

    • @RaptorChatter
      @RaptorChatter  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think I put Smok on my list of animals that would be in the voting list. If not I will get it on there!
      Thanks for the well wishes, my wife & kid have recovered, & I by some miracle dodged it, so doing relatively well now.

    Could you do a video on Procolophon? Somehow it seems extra tragic they were the last anapsid reptiles & they survived the end Permian mass extinction, but still went extinct in the early Triassic. And I know, today many paleontologists now say anapsid reptiles are really diapsids that lost their extra skull holes earlier than other reptiles, but if there was 1 reptile magically bring back from extinction, it would be Procolophon.

    • @vinny184
      @vinny184 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      extant anapsids are diapsids that secondarily ‘lost’ or fused their skull holes. The earliest amniotes were anapsids but as a whole anapsids are just not monophyletic that’s why it fell in disuse.

    • @wcdeich4
      @wcdeich4 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@vinny184 It still seems like such a tragedy. There was an entire order, the Procolophonomorpha, which actually survived "the great dying" the worse mass extinction of vertebrates ever. Then the last species went extinct in the early Triassic. If there was a way to time travel back & bring back just 1 extinct species from the Triassic, I would definitely want it to be Procolophon.

    Can I just say, I love the non dinosaurian Mesozoic creatures, I knew about Armadillosuchus from Treytheexplainer's paleoprofile, he also did an episode on drepanosaur and Tanystropheus, and I just loved finding out about the lesser known creatures from the Mesozoic

      That's not the most inaccurate description I've heard.
      I wouldn't use rodent as a descriptor, but it's definitely an odd reptile which has a lot in common with mammals.
