@@restorant1607 It's just Planet. Planetarium is featured in the second game, along with "New Family" by Plaid, "Infotain Me" by Ochre, "Vision One" by Röyksopp, and a bunch of other cool stuff
I have been listening to this now on 1.15x speed to work on accelerated school courses, and now when I want to hear it on normal speed it always feels like it is in slow motion now... I also remember this on LittleBigPlanet 2, this is one of my favorite songs, too. To this day I sometimes play LBP 1, 2, and 3 on moon to make something to remember (community level stuff or something unique).
Recently started listening to Squarepusher's stuff alot and I should imagine I will get to the used to stage for a short while and will still do too, and it is wonderful
@____ phhh... listen to some decrepit birth, suffocation, cryptopsy, idk, there are many bands, children of bodom and death are low tier and not tech death metal
Is there any other songs or artists that sound anything close to that song??? I could listen to this type of music for the rest of my life. All drum and bass songs I've listen to is missing something compare to this or Welcome to Europe... Thanks
Awesome artists and you should listen to them but Squarepusher really is just unreached in what he does, never listened to anything that can be compared to him, pls tell me if you find something :D
Well the main key is E minor (aeolian). The modulations seems to be sometimes borrowed from parallell keys, like C# minor and G# minor, at other times seems to be following some sort of circles of fifths pattern, like when it modulates to G minor and D minor. I'm also hearing some chromatic step-downs, some tritone subs. It's a complex piece as far as harmony goes, but still it always comes back to the main theme in E minor which is Cmaj7 - Am - Em
im not sure I really get this. I can appreciate the drum programming and processing of the track in general, I just don't feel the vibe I guess. it feels a bit cheesy. Still, i will go see him play at Boomtown.
I agree the main synth lead sounds a bit cheesy. I like when it cuts to the piano-esque voice with the choral backing. It sounds so wonderfully critical and jaded, like a view of the night sky through a large telescope, or a pale flashlight cutting through darkness cloaking a frosty landscape of barren trees.
Carrying on the grand old tradition of commenting on a 2 year old comment. I too agree that the lead is cheesey by today's standards. But the value I get out of this track is more nostalgic than otherwise. I find that cheesey production frequently aids that effect. A good example of this is anything by u_Ziq who is one of my favorite artists incidentally.
I went to a party above a Family Dollar. Chicago 2008. SquarePusher was headlining. Outstanding.
First time I heard this was on LBP lol. Epic song.

+Phlimy Same.
I also used to listen to Squarepusher's stuff years ago. I still do, but I used to too.
This album is a classic that will stand the test of time! It will always be good.
This is a great album to listen to while you're playing Metroid.
imagine sitting in a space shuttle on the launch pad and this is the music cranked in your space suit.
It's simply beautiful. Thanks Tom.
I wasn't able to love any later album of his. This felt like the top. And now his latest album says "Hello" once more :)
I feel like a good music video for this would be a group of scientists trying to learn about and stop a meteorite from crashing into earth
I'm a theoretical physicist and I study to Squarepusher a lot ( ‾ʖ̫‾)
This song as featured for the upcoming 'The Matrix IV'....
more like a bunch of scientist trying to turn a meteorite into a sentient mega computing platform

That riff is so good. I wonder if he used some kind of riff machine on it. It sounds synthetic, yet it brims with infinite possibilities.
