    Just glad GTR is producing modern amber LED upgrades. Most stock incandescent bulbs are insanely ineffective [especially behind common clear turn lenses] in the tropical sun and don't even blink all the way off like an LED. Glad you compared i-LED to stock for a visual analysis.

    2004 Lincoln Town Car Ultimate owner here! Great review, demonstration, and detail on installation. I’m really leaning towards the switchback version of this product. Question tho, my vehicle doesn’t have daytime running lights so I’m assuming the switchback between white and amber will only work IF I have my headlight control switch in the “parking light” orientation?
    If my low beams are ON will the switchback bulb be active or only when I activate the turn signal?
    Hopefully my question translates clearly… Thank you and also thank you for the time and effort you guys put into your content for us consumers.

    • @CT_Taylor
      @CT_Taylor 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@seangowan7441 I know what you are asking. The resistor/inline thing appears to be 40watts and less ohms, its also longer than most, and its also encased in what probably is an effective heat sink/shield because they used as much energy for the bulb in the simple Bright holy god ness (they do use a lot more watts than cheaper LEDs for good use), so that allowed them to use a smaller resistor and they also engineered it in such a way. the 60watt (whatever ohm they were) ones I put on my Park Avenue test tail lamp harness ended upbeing way way too hot after 5 minutes only flashing turn (not a combination light or anything, only a turn on that lamp) and the trunk was open with the resistors in 0 degrees wind and they were too hot to touch . So Instantly I knew I couldnt find a way to tuck or mount them without having issues.
      I am going to keep looking around to find out how much heat exactly to expect from them, because I have a tail lamp that hugs a sheet metal with a felt backing on the other side(interior or trunk) and between the tail lamp and the sheet metal is where the harness of the 2 tturn lamps on the lid mount, and there isnt much room. It hugs the plastic and wiring. So I am going to make sure they can cooperate otherwise I may see if i could use a small heat shielding tape on the surrounding stuff too. Its definitely a lot less battle with that module. Alternatively, I was going to look into the 3157 extension harnesses where I could put the bulb in the lamp housing, then run the wires through the pass through, and then maybe far back enough where I can mount the resistor/flash module on the other side where it can be more free and open to be safe if so needed.
      I also have 2 body mounted lamps but those are easier to find a spot so not worried there.

      Yeah, I don't really get it. I've never even noticed the fact that the light reflects onto the headlight part, and I'm guessing the vast majority of people haven't either, but then switching to LED doesn't make any difference, they still reflect when they're on.
      And I don't think anyone can really miss a standard turn signal - if anything the brighter they are, the more distracting, especially if you're sat behind somebody at the traffic light at night. Same with brake lights it's harder to miss them. My car has LEDs factory fitted but it wouldn't have been a deal breaker if they didn't.

    Pretty disappoined after buying these. I'm not sure if its these bulbs or if its the car I have which has a very sensitive lighting system. Im not sure theres another car in the world that monitors the current of the parking light, but my 2013 Dodge Dart does. If the parking light does not pull 5 watts exactly, it will show an error. I bought the i led 7443 switchback bulbs and the white parking light shuts off after 2 seconds. Going to try the VLEDS Triton because the i Led is a fail.

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Some switchback bulbs will require an additional resistor because switchback uses half-and-half functions split between white and amber, meaning it doesn't communicate the same voltage as the solid color LED would. Additionally, Dodge vehicles are extremely picky when it comes to CANBUS integration with LEDs whether it's headlights or turn signals.
      These are the resistors we recommend adding to the turn signals for proper function: www.headlightrevolution.com/50w-6ohm-gold-resistor-ACC.RES.50W_2?quantity=1

      If using an LED, you match the color of the housing so the light emitted is visible. If you used a white led in a red, you get pink. not sure what it would in a amber housing. Clear housing a white bulb would make an illegal color for a amber turn, for example, but just match color if there is color, if not color, match the bulb to the function legallyy speaking. so clear for reverse white, clear for turn amber. tail... I think tails CAN be clear but they are 90% of the time coincided with brake or at least the reflector meant for visibility when not turned on but I could be wrong.
