i’m auditioning tomorrow but i’m so scared because it’s all on zoom so i’m not really sure what to expect ... i’m watching videos of ppl who auditioned to prepare myself but this is the first time auditions are on zoom so i guess i won’t know what it’s like until i do it 👁👄👁
i wish you luck, you got this!! believe in what you’ve prepared and even if it doesn’t feel like it’s enough remember sometimes the best performances come from you knowing your character and not just the lines!!
@@ingipark thanks!! i didn’t end up getting a callback but the callbacks were SO selective so i guess i’m not too upset about it. it was still overall a great experience and the faculty was super welcoming
@@victoriap.3394 aww it’s ok i didn’t get a callback either but just know that doesn’t determine your worth and talent as an actor. keep pushing yourself!! and great job for auditioning!!
Hi!! Thank you so much for this it was informative!! I’m gonna be auditioning this January and I’m looking at many videos of peoples auditions😂 I am just about to watch your nyu Tisch video, I know it’s late but congratulations!! I just wanted to know if they had a stool or some chair for you to use during your audition? And also if they asked you anything after your monologues?
Hi! I’m Ruth, a Juilliard music applicant. I was having trouble completing my application seeing as my it looks more like a preview and doesn’t give room for me to submit the requirements. Did you also encounter this problem?
INGRID PARK thank you so much for your consideration. Sorry I’m just seeing this. Unfortunately, I don’t have Instagram, but thank you for trying to help!
hmm that’s a good question, i would say in general when you pursue acting, singing and dance are natural talents that will boost your career. for the audition you do have to sing because if you are admitted to the school even in the drama program you attend a singing course. i don’t think it’s 100% necessary that you have to be amazing at singing but you should maybe learn how to read music and carry a tune just to be safe. even if you have the basic knowledge of singing, juilliard will most likely be ok with the fact that you can improve your learning from there. hope this helped ;)
No, they teach you how to sing if you get accepted. It is primarily an acting focused program. So you don’t have to worry about singing. Just have a song prepared.
@@sovietninja6865 i agree with that, they do teach you how to sing but i think since their acceptance rate is already so low lol learning how to read music ahead of time is a bonus for sure
Hey l'm looking for Juilliard few month but I don't understand what can i do to start preparing this college. So can you help me for same guidance. How to do and what to do . Don't mind I can contact with you🙂
it is scary to think about auditioning for such a great school but i think it would be more scary to let the opportunity pass by. who knows you might get in, and if you don’t at least you tried. win-win in my opinion;)
Omg you are so cool!) I am Korean but I'm from Russia and though Juilliard is my dream, I will never get in, cause there are no money, no opportunities. Salaries are low, drama courses are poor, I hadn't any drama courses in my school, alas. Tuition is so high((( and life in USA too is very expensive for Russian citizen at all. That 's so sad. If compare distance between Juilliard and Moscow, then I would say that I feel myself like in poor parts of Africa.
aww i’m so sorry to hear that but you know what the experience of trying out is still great plus auditions this year are free because there’s no travel fees! you could give it a try and if you get in maybe consider private loans or who knows maybe if you ask a celebrity alumni they’ll sponsor you? don’t give up
You can't be from Korea and from Russia. You were either born in Korea OR Russia. You can't be born in different places at once. If your parents are Korean and you were born in Russia then that's a different story.
