Best sitcom in TV history. Peter Mullan is perfection. The script, sharp witty and funny, but of course the pathos is what makes it. The silence between the talking is where it mostly happens. I never cry at anything much, but I ALWAYS cry when they hug in the garden.
Has anyone seen the situation comedy 'Him and Her'? It has similarities, it could be the same writer, perhaps? It's about a young couple, Steve and Becky, who live amiably in a flatlet in Walthamstow, London. They do very little, but are visited by family and neighbours, who bring their characters and life issues to them; very much as in ''Mum''. It was first broadcast in the UK on BBC Three on 06/09/10. It stars Russell Tovey and Sarah Solemani.
Absolutely brilliant programme. Found it by accident a few days ago and binged the 3 series. Fantastic and well worth a watch!!
