I also fit this type suspension into the metro. My ubolts were rust welded to the control arms. I also had to weld on new perches for the 86 G20 rear. Good quality video and great sound. Keep ‘em coming.
I got pretty lucky with that stuff on this truck. The truck has rust obviously but most of it is actually top down from moisture in the cab and leaves and organic material in the bed. When I get into body work and flip the cab and bed over you'll see that the bottom looks pretty good.
I'm thinking that I would have mounted the swaybar on top of the arms because from what I see the swaybar is a few inches off the ground and that is going to get caught on anything in the road. If on a dirt road a buried rock could be sticking out enough to hit it and possibly destroy all of the work that you have done. 😮 Not to mention that most rear swaybars are mounted at or close to the rear axle itself.
On top is not a bad idea. I was trying to go as similarly as per the instructions when I did it. Luckily this truck shouldn't see too many dirt roads and I see upgraded tubular trailing arms in the future.
