Eddie died in October/November 05 kurt said this happened a few months before he died So either they had another lumberjack match or kurts memory is like 6-10 months off
Whoops, I just commented looking for another lumber jack match. I guess angle was right when he said they cleaned up the match because I can’t tell is Eddie wasnt looking like himself besides his skin tone
The odd Eddie moment I remember was the match with Benoit at ONS in 05. Near the start there was a spot where Eddie just rolled out the ring for a bit and just looked gassed. Crowd was chanting all kinds of crazy shit at JBL so it wasn't as noticeable but I thought something was off when I watched at the time.
OMG! yes I thought the exact same thing, I was like something is not right here. Eddie is definitely one of the greatest. I miss him very much, but hey we can still watch his legendary matches
He most likely had heart issues all throughout that year, but he never checked it out. If he had, he probably would have lived. It was his body telling him "HEY, DO SOMETHING!" But he didn't.
Although, it was so wicked and disheartening what the man did to his own family before committing suicide, but I felt for Benoit, during that tribute of Eddie, on the next airing of Monday Night Raw.
@Sanda Fighter idk I love Eddie Guerrero but I’m not convinced that was a smart move. Still that’s better than punching your friend, especially when that friend is badass and you’re not in good health.
@Sanda Fighter I honestly didn't know Eddie wrestled in college but it's still a terrible move. Apparently he wrestled in D2 which is vastly below an Olympic wrestler(especially a gold medalist).
0:33 Kurt is right about Eddie's skin, I am glad I wasn't the only one who notice. Go back and watch his match with Mr. Kennedy you can see what he is talking about.
Yup. It was supposed to be a series of 3 matches, but Booker won the first one, and the second one accidentally, so everything after Booker won the second match that night was improv.
I heard Angle talk about this fight before and when he said “gave him the hips” when Eddie tried to double leg him I popped 😂 sounds like something a wrestling coach in high school would absolutely say
Kurt is mixing up his dates by about a year. Eddie died at the end of 2005. These stories he’s referencing happened about a year prior, not 1-2 months.
@@foliage_man yeah i mean im sure everything becomes a blur since theyve had so many legendary moments and would wrestle 300 + times in the year , although they probably remember moments and matches I figure dates over time get muddled
@@paleo704 Kurt Angle said it was on Smackdown two months before Eddie died in 2005, but he wasn't wrestling him at that time. He was on RAW while Eddie was feuding with Batista two months before his death, so if Angle is saying he was on Smackdown when Eddie was there, that was 2004 because he didn't come back to Smackdown until 2006 which was after Eddie died due to Batista having to relinquish the World Heavyweight Championship because of an injury.
The 2005 match Kurt’s referring to took place April 14, 2005 on SmackDown. I believe it was a WWE Title tournament match, that Kurt won. The other match was the Lumberjack match from Smackdown in 2004.
@@the_sam_strong yeah cause by the time Eddie passed Kurt was doing stuff on Raw with Cena but hey you have a career as long as Kurt Angle I can understand forgetting some stuff

Kurt wasn't on Smackdown two months before Eddie died, because that was when he was on RAW feuding with John Cena over the WWE championship. Guerrero was on Smackdown at the end of his feud with Mysterio, and just started the one with Batista which was the one he died in the middle of. So Angle isn't remembering it right, he's probably remembering 2004 or early to mid 05 before the draft moved him to RAW, because that was when he was on Smackdown when Eddie was there.
