Commercial or military planes, drones, helicopters, surface vessels, submarines, rockets, satellites... All these vehicles share a common technology: an inertial navigation system. But what does it look like ? In this short film, Safran presents its state-of-the-art navigation systems capable of locating, guiding and steering any vehicle without relying on the GPS technology.
To achieve this prowess, an inertial unit system is fitted with multiple acceleration and rotation sensors to measure with extreme precision the movements of any given object.
Modern inertial technology is located at the heart of Safran's 70-years extensive technological know-how, notably in the military sector.
