Steeldrivers are relatively well known and did well for themselves in a real successful way. Chris has a really special voice that is one of a kind and he made some good choices with his career.
Not Country it's Bluegrass. There is a difference. Ky. Hillbilly here. Heard Bluegrass winding down the hollar drifting through the tree's, skipping over the creek many times. Bluegrass came from the hills and mountains of Ky. Scotts, English, Irish sound incorporated the banjo from the South with a mournful solitairy sound. The hardships of the hills is what makes it personal to those who get it. ✌️☯️🎶
White guy blues is what I say. Seriously though, if they didn't say yall and weren't white, it'd be blues. Lots of country and bluegrass can be crossed over as blues, no problem. Just depends on perspective.

I posted this comment on another song by the SteelDrivers but it applies even more so on this song... "Many bluegrass bands should stick to instrumentals, others should stick to their stills. SteelDrivers aren't in either of those classes. Quality instrumentals, strong vocals and lyrics that come from the roots of bluegrass. Great stuff all the way through." I better be careful though as I could post this on quite a few of their songs.

Check out some Cody Jinks, Whitey Morgan, Ward Davis, Sturgill Simpson, Whiskey Myers, or Sunny Sweeney. They are all youngish but very talented traditional style country music artists. I have seen 3 of those mentioned in person in the last year, Ward Davis twice, and plan on seeing the rest soon.
Same said well
Montana was settled by a whole lot of Confederates after the Civil War...filled in by immigrants after that. We are bout half country up here, except for some of the California implants driving teslas and subarus. This music runs through our blood.
Amazing artists and an amazing song! I love the SteelDrivers and Chris Stapleton!
Just heard this . I love it
real country music right here
drippin wet YEE YEE

Well, its bluegrass, but close enough

These dudes are amazing. One of the best songs I’ve ever heard
I love when bands throw out a country song that keeps the embers alive.
This is my new FAVOURITE JAM 😊 So damn catchy 👍
I'm born and raised southern Mississippi and my husband is from New Orleans. This band is amazing!
The best song I've heard in a very long time. Looping this one. God damn, this is perfect.
nothing bad has ever come from this guy. Jesus so much talent in one song. all of these artist compliment eachother so well
These dudes ain't The Pine Box Boys, but it's good to know that real country music can still be this popular. Solid stuff.
Every song I hear💪😎❤️❤️❤️ fantastic
This process this band uses is timeless and seamless. They remove any difficulty we may have to appreciate the multi-dimensional flow of their message.
Exactly it's basically the idea that you could have many layers to it but the main aspect or reality of it is there is nothing more because you can't sell your soul so you wake up believing that s*** that would have been cooler would have been nice and I mean it was just a drunken nightmare
Dark Country music brought me here. This song is awesome.
Here's the reason why they're so good: Chris Stapleton is singing, he was with the steeldrivers before he made it big on his own.
He isn't the only one playing. These are all studio musicians. Listen to the fiddle, the banjo. They are all great musicians
The fuck he did. Are you listening to yourself? Don’t shame what you can’t handle
HEEEEEEEEYYY! DAMN! This song & band resonate through my bones!
Love from Djibouti, Africa!
...if you're ever deployed here I'm so sorry lol.

You guys have electricity? Never would have guessed.
Camp LemonHead. Don't miss it at all...
Trust me there's nothing in this world you won't give to see the mighty Mississippi. . .
gives me chills...............
At the crossroads again God bless us all!!
SO GREAT. What would this genre be considered? Blues, rugged country? some form of bluegrass? LOVE it.
Sounds like Old-Time with bluegrass and blues influences.
Madison Olinger it's bluegrass with blues or "blues-grass". I'm pretty loose with genres so I just call it bluegrass but if you want to get technical it's blues-grass
Madison Olinger Bluegrass blues...
Roots
Jesus.... This song was such a pull. G'hatdamn!
New favorite song. These guys are so good. What a great sound.
I ain't one for country but damn this song got me feeling it
Just found this.. December 2018.. Good music still exists!
Everytime I play this in any bar I am in, I get almost everyone in there asking to write down who it is... So they can remeber it!!! Love this band!!!!
The Steel Drivers make me feel like I'm riding my horse right now in my pasture
Wow 🥺😳 I'm hooked like a catfish onna chicken liver!!! Thank God for Steel Drivers,!!🤸💣❤️💪🙏🤘😎😊👌
The visual portrayed in this song sends chills every time I listen to it. The sheer power of mountain music ladies and gentlemen
Absolutely love Stapletons voice
When you got music...You got it all.🌻
The music holds my soul right😮 loved it...
