Chris is a true legend to me. Great songwriter, great musician, and has the most original voice of anybody of my time. He doesn’t even push him name on anybody. He just does what he loves to do.
My sister gave me a CD of The SteelDrivers 4 years ago. She recently passed away I was in the process of moving when I found the CD I played it while I was packing my things. I was awestruck there absolutely my favorite group. Their vocals are impeccably unique, brilliant Arrangements. As far as the individual musicians go they're all wonderful Pickers. And as a group they accentuate each other so well. The Beatles did the same thing individually they were very good but as a group they were phenomenal a force to be reckoned with. they're not lacking in anything.
I've loved the Steeldrivers for years! You should see some of the looks I get as a Pakistani American BLASTING their songs in the car and singing along at the top of my lungs 😂
I much prefer other genres of music, metal, jungle, dnb, rap hip hop, jazz funk, and ive always had a deepseated disdain for country music. But this song and chris stapleton are beyond praise. Chris stapleton is part of the reason why ive started liking and listening to more country ❤

As a country music fan of almost 50 years I can say that this song is flawless. Grit, blended with a harmony and uncluttered instrumental work that makes the hair stand on the back of my neck. Ironic that I never heard it on a "country" station...it was some guys bumper music on a conservative talk radio program.
Unfortunately, it’s not ironic to not hear good real country on a radio station. Or maybe it is fortunate…things always get ruined by the masses. If you seek it out, you will find that there are incredible artists out there doing it for the love of it, and slaying the top albums on the radio!
A random request at a bar gig last night brought me here. I've played this song with a buddy of mine for years but I always thought it was an older trad song. It has an old soul, and it's a masterpiece.
I don't have the time to look for these behind the scenes awesome bands, I wish I had known about this band and Chris sooner. Screw country music radio for not playing this stuff, and trying to sell us FLGA line like it is country music.
This is good as you can get when it comes to bluegrass music & I absolutely love, love them so much. Thank God. Chris brought his extraordinary voice to country music for us to enjoy. Just don't put down Florida Georgia Line they are great too. Just give them some credit as well. I enjoy their music as well.
