Legend has it that in the depths of Claudio's hair rests a mystical troll, and if you answer his riddles three he shall bequeath to you the voice of an angel. Good luck young travelers.
Wow this is like the weirdest thing...... last 2 weeks iv'e been listening to only Rush and Geddy's voice.....and the last couple of days i replaced them with coheed and then i see this comment.....wtf
I’m 33 now been listening to these guys since I was a little kid, now I have 4 kids of my own and they love this band, thank y’all for giving us great music!!
Good to hear! Honestly, Claudio’s voice is a little more annoying to me these days, but I still admire his talent. They’re a gifted musical group, for sure.
Dude, I've drifted so far away from this music, but there's an energy here that's undeniable. That last verse, that dude's voice. Damn. I'm 15 again. I hope I never lose sight of what captivated me when I first heard this song.
Same here! I grabbed my guitar about a month or two ago and it took me back to those epic days! Now because of it, I'm gonna try to make an acoustic cover every day of the good days, when rock music was KING! I hope the next decade (20's), rock can make a comeback!
That energy is called Adolescence.... Every Decade or Generation has it and it's showcased in different ways. I like to think those of us who grew up on Hardcore and Indie and Metal between 96 and 2010 were really, really fucking lucky
I always wondered what the actual artists feel when they think back to these songs. Life probably flashes by even faster for them> Too fast to enjoy every moment im sure.
That's funny bc kids nowadays did do that lol. All the kids around me had ipods and had all their music downloaded. But I ripped my CDs onto my mp3 player and would bring my pamphlet everywhere. Eventually a teacher read it when I wasnt looking. Snitched on my parents for it being super dark but they dgaf lmao.
I saw them at warped tour in 04....still to this day, top three shows I've ever seen. Easily the most fun, did a lot of crown surfing and the pit was nuts lol.
I have a 17 year old son who's very dedicated in his music discovery and reviewing. We both agree this is one of the most satisfyingly written and performed songs ever recorded. The slapstick theme of this video does it a disservice. From start to finish this song builds upon itself and just makes you feel good.
I was just thinking this. The riff here is so crisp. Its like the epitome of pop punk, and coheed werent a pop punk band. Like at all. Except for this song hahaha. Have you son listen to Devil In Jersey City if you havent already. Its similarly crisp and built brick by brick.
Does he know there's a graphic that accompanies the song/album? Not sure if he's into that kinda thing obvs but when this came out when I was a teen , that fact made this infinitely more enjoyable for me lol. One was released with every album depicting the songs, it was pretty dope lol

I think it was an oddly bittersweet time. Just coming out of the 90s and while it's still had touches of that it was moving into this new era of youthfulness that somehow already managed to be nostalgic I think even when it first came out. Obviously emo doesn't entirely fit under the definition of coheed but there was some thing about that vibe during the time that made it feel like everything was sharp and painful, no pun intended. It just reminds me of the mornings before school and everything was cold and I was anxious and socially awkward. Bad fashion that still was somehow cool, relationships, Insecurities, lack of parental guidance, and uncertainty about our future.
The 2000s was a weird amalgam of different aspects of the 70s, 80s, and 90s, and was the last gasp of Western Civilization before it started it's sharp decline around 2012
I have memories of watching this video with my brother sitting on the end of our moms bed, 10 and 11 fully dressed for school and just vibing to MTV before the bus got there. Crazy this was 20 years ago 😭
I was 21 when this came out I was in the hardcore and emo scenes. I was hitting all the clubs and lounges where this all played at.. Time flew!! I'm in my mid 30s..a Dad. A husband.. don't get too depressed. I stopped aging around 28.. you will too. I get carded once in awhile. Life doesn't suck as much as you think it will at my age... it's pretty cool.. my son is awesome. You see a little you in them
Where was I when this came out?!? I’m 60 now and just heard this for the first time, and love it. It’s right up my alley. How’d I miss it in 2000? Busy with kids, jobs, bills, I guess. Man, life’ll pass you by while you’re living it.
I only really after got into My Chemical Romance, Coheed and Cambria, Thursday, and Saosin after their members formed L.S. Dunes and damn... I was missing out
Fast forward 2017, I'm 28. I'm an adult. And jamming out bouncing around screaming these lyrics at the top of my lungs, at work might I add....just like my young teen self back in the day 😂❤
First time I ever heard Coheed and Cambria: I was 14-15, this music video came on Fuse, when I heard the voice and saw Claudio turn around singing, I actually, audibly screamed. I very much did not expect that. So began a 13 year love that continues to this day.
That was one of the best things I have seen and heard. I love his outfit! Hail Queen Grace and hail i her King for-eve-r and eve-r in truth amen; "until I die"

When this came out i was obsessed with them and my wife just laughed and said they're horrible. Until a couple weeks ago this song was on an IG video and she's like OMG have heard of this band Coheed and Cambria they're so good. Yeah hun welcome to the party, you're 20yrs late but at least you finally got here.
Flashback 2004 - .I knew the song from the radio but knew nothing about the band and always thought it was a female singer. I was at a friend's house and told him, "You know that band with the girl lead singer that goes 'Good Eye Sniper'? He smirks and pulls up this video on his computer (from Limewire, btw ;P ) and for the first 7 seconds I was I was like...wonder which one of those girls is the singer. Then 0:08 came and I was like...WHAT?!? Have loved the band ever since and seen them over 15 times!
What an era of music the 2000s indie/emo/punk rock scene was. It was like every week you found some new amazing artist you'd get addicted to for months and lose your mind when it came on at your favorite indie dance club or bar. What a time it was to be alive, when the internet was still the wild west and we weren't all made social hermits yet by our phones and social media was still young and generally untoxic.
i remember when the preview for this song/video came on TRL or something similar on MTV, I was so excited. I had never heard anything like Claudio’s voice coupled with the pop/punk/alternative sound. This is instant nostalgia
1st song I heard for coheed and cambria was welcome home, then deranged and then favor house Atlantic. I really miss these days so much, although I think every stage in life has it's specific beauty, but these times were so different, everything was new and amazing. Thanks for the memories guys, here's for better memories to come, cheers
Heard this a few weeks ago for the first time since 2009 and I got this huge wave of europhic nostalgia, drinking snakebites in the student union classic days
I discovered these guys when I first got my PSP in 2005. It came with ATV Offroad Fury and when this song popped on I instantly got hooked and would often load up free ride and use my PSP as a way to listen tk this song on repeat. To this day I love just about every single song they have put out so far.
The song that made me a Coheed fan. In 2004, they played this video on the televisions at a Hard Rock Cafe and I put down my over-priced cheeseburger and fuckin' listened. PEEEeeeEEEeeeEEEace!
This song has a special place in my heart cause it sums up my early 20's. Working security in bars and getting drink in after parties at that time. And the friend who introduced me to the.
I'm sure i'm the oldest person on here commenting, but his voice is reminiscent of Geddy Lee's from Rush. I wonder if that was what they were getting at a bit in this video, since it the video has an 80s feel to it, and that is the last time most of us old folks listened to Rush. If you were 9 when Coheed and Cambria came about then your parents (or grandparents, for that matter) could probably tell you better about Rush. Great song. Fun video.
there have been comparison but only to the voice range and timbre but the way claudio executes is much more rugged and powerful :) but as a young listener i do fucking love rush as well :)
correct me if I'm wrong but they were originally a rush cover band! I've known this for ages since first listening to them years ago and only just listened to some rush. The resemblance is uncanny! My boyfriend grew up in that era and immediately drew the comparison when first listening to coheed, heh.
ohdarah Actually, Claudio has said that the first band he was in was a Rush cover band, even though he had never listened to Rush. Something about how the lead singer had complete control and said they weren't doing anything that wasn't Rush. I'm pretty sure that was one of those "bands" that never actually got anywhere, lol.
I set a music player to play Coheed and Cambria, this came on after Welcome Home and hit me like a ton of bricks as many of the lyrics came flooding back to me and my brain scrambled to identify where I had heard this song before, enough to recall this much of it after some-odd 15 years at least... I believe it was because this song was featured in the game Rock Band and I hadn't really listened to it since then.
Only heard welcome home cus of guitar hero 3. Cheeked out this now. Had no idea this band would give me nostalgia from my emo days without having heard the song before 😅
r.i.p to my dad I'm 11 and he always loved this song and band and it was always his dream to meet you guys, and I really love coheed and cambria so if I ever meet you guys I'll probably start crying yknow what nevermind I have to meet you guys just for my dad r.i.p dad I really miss you I promise ill meet them one day just for you and tell you when I see you again😕
I was 21 when this came out I was in the hardcore and emo scenes. I was hitting all the clubs and lounges where this all played at.. Time flew!! I'm in my mid 30s..a Dad. I was finally able to see them last year live. They're amazing. Have been among my top favorite bands since high school. I remember us calling our local radio station and asking if this was a woman singing lol.
Completely serious. Pop isn't even really a genre of music, it's just what ends up being popular to the masses. It's based off of the sounds that the largest group of people find pleasing. That's pop music. Listen to this song, it's 100% pop-punk. The beat is infectious, it makes me want to dance and that never happens. Listen to these vocals, the "whoa-oh"'s. The effects he puts on the words. It's incredible. It's an absolutely perfect piece of music. When I say it's a "pop" song, I mean it as the biggest compliment.
Legend has it that in the depths of Claudio's hair rests a mystical troll, and if you answer his riddles three he shall bequeath to you the voice of an angel. Good luck young travelers.

The best I can't get over it...
I love this song. Listened to it a lot when I was 4-7. My dad would listen to Coheed music a lot, so I find their music very nostalgic
One of the greatest songs by one of the greatest bands ever
God I miss those long nights hanging out with my friends when we were young, alive, together. My good times can’t all be behind me
Hate to tell you bro, they are.
So nostalgic.. when I got my psp it came with a sampler disk that had a music video for blood red summer. Now where did my psp go
❤
Same here. Only for the PS2
2007
on that video game !!! Hell YeaH!! great song in general,,, claudio has great vocals
The song that made me a Coheed fan. In 2004, they played this video on the televisions at a Hard Rock Cafe and I put down my over-priced cheeseburger and fuckin' listened.
PEEEeeeEEEeeeEEEace!
I miss that Cafe, they don't have any down here in North Carolina anymore, not that I can find anyway. D:
damn straight stuart, i loved this song when it came out, it made me a fan, and ive never looked back since
This was the song that did it for me too, and here I am, 10 years later. Going to see them in LA on Sept 6th [:
derengo19 haha nice im seeing them tomorrow the 5th in riverside :D
think it's piece, but I love Coheed enthusiasts!
This, my friends, will be Classic Rock in about 20 years from now...
Don't get depressed though, 60 is the new 40!
This song has a special place in my heart cause it sums up my early 20's. Working security in bars and getting drink in after parties at that time. And the friend who introduced me to the.
Saw them a few weeks ago for the third time with Incubus for the second time in Chicago! They are Amazing live!! This song is great live!!
i've been looking for this song for ten years. no joke
Can’t believe that’s his voice when the video is at the bar but when he’s on stage, it’s 100% believeable
i first heard this in 4/5th grade now im 31 and still here
What's crazy is my only exposure to Coheed and Cambria was the test psp music video of Blood Red Summer.
This song is very nostalgic, the guitar hero and rockband days ❤️
This song will never get old! Claudio Sanchez has a voice that can never be matched ❤️
My boyfriend grew up in that era and immediately drew the comparison when first listening to coheed, heh.
ohdarah None of the members of the band even listened to Rush until after they had made their second album, which this song is on.
TheAlmightyVox whoops! thanks for the correction. a weird bit of trivia i read someplace that isn't true D:
ohdarah Actually, Claudio has said that the first band he was in was a Rush cover band, even though he had never listened to Rush.
This is so good but you must hear “The Wave” or “Whispering Wolf” by SLT 🤘🔥🐺🔥🤘
Possibly the funnest song ever made. 🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃
Boy oh boy, the relevance of this video in 2022 is amazing.
This song is so damn catchy. Legit can listen to it 5 times in a row and it won’t get old
Wow use to love this song back in 2005.. never knew who sang it but I just realized its a guy today 🤯 what a voice
Haven't heard this song since I was in 6th grade. I'm now just 4 months from graduating. Might cry
Saw them live last night for the first time in ten years plus and they remain spectacular ❤
Who else is listening to this amazing band in 2021
Going to see them and the used soon.

Only heard welcome home cus of guitar hero 3. Cheeked out this now.
Had no idea this band would give me nostalgia from my emo days without having heard the song before 😅
This is so good but you must hear “Whispering Wolf” or “The Wave” by SLT 🎸🔥🤘
My childhood song. I remember like it was yesterday I was 11 watching this on MTV back when they used to play music videos everyday. Good times man

An absolute gem of a video. Hard to believe this shit's twenty years old.
I was finally able to see them last year live. They're amazing. Have been among my top favorite bands since high school. I remember us calling our local radio station and asking if this was a woman singing lol.
I worked at Target in the electronics department when this came out. They would constantly play it on the TVs. I loved it!
This is the most perfect pop song ever written.
pop??? or are you being sarcastic?
Completely serious. Pop isn't even really a genre of music, it's just what ends up being popular to the masses. It's based off of the sounds that the largest group of people find pleasing. That's pop music. Listen to this song, it's 100% pop-punk. The beat is infectious, it makes me want to dance and that never happens. Listen to these vocals, the "whoa-oh"'s. The effects he puts on the words. It's incredible. It's an absolutely perfect piece of music. When I say it's a "pop" song, I mean it as the biggest compliment.
After this album, Coheed's sound changed a lot. In Keeping Secrets is full of amazing pop songs.
it's not pop it's rock
You're an imbecile.
