I’ve been trying to find this song for 10 years. I heard it in passing and couldn’t remember any lyrics and didn’t recognize the band. Today I stumbled upon it…it’s truly an amazing feeling.
In 2005, my dad got relocated for his job and my family packed up and moved from New Hampshire to Georgia. Being 13 at the time; already going through a lot of changes, having to leave all my friends and extended family behind, this sent me into a bad depression. In December 2006, my dad won a Zune music player from a raffle at an office party. He knew I loved music and all I was listening to were burned discs on my CD player, so he gave it to me. Welcome Home was the first song I put on the Zune and I had it on replay for weeks. That Zune and this song helped get me through the toughest time of my life. Thanks Dad and thank you Coheed and Cambria! :)

I am 53 , my son and I use to roll this song when we were knee deep in Zombies, playing The game “Nazi Zombies “ back in the day! Good memories with my boy! Also rocked it during work outs and tactical popo time. Gives you what I call the juice bumps!

alexander taylor Yeah, seriously. I was in 5th grade when guitar hero came out, yet I still remember choosing to play a real instrument over a buying a useless toy.
Ivana Williamson A guitar is entertainment. If I thought entertainment was useless, I would never have made my comment to begin with. The real guitar is very much a useful skill, and it has excellent benefits to the mental health and motor functions. On top of that, art has been known to help with depression and other issues along the way. Rockband, however, I will not vouch for as long as the real guitar is still around.
Travis Akins I've played REAL guitar since I was 11 years old, I'm 22 now and I have enjoyed it as a hobby, but it is just that, the same as video games, a hobby (unless your one of the few who has turned into a career). You called guitar hero a useless toy, now either you're being a hipster and decided to comment on a chain of people talking about how much they enjoy something to say you don't enjoy that something or you're conceded and believe you're better than everyone else here because you chose a real instrument over a fake video game one, but in the end, you're wrong, you said you chose the better thing but there was never a choice that compared the 2, it was a choice of if you wanted to play the game, it doesn't immediately make playing a real guitar impossible or less fun and vice versa. Oh and when I say I think you're conceded, what I'm referring to is the fact that you brought real guitar up when it had nothing to do with the conversation, you literally brought it up to talk about yourself and how anyone who enjoyed that game wasted their time on a "useless toy".
Ivana Williamson Actually, people were already trashing the game. That's why I joined in. I elaborated on their point by telling them how I feel. That's why I stated "I chose real guitar over Rockband" I feel that the real guitar is much better for personal development, I wasn't showing how badass I am for doing that. I don't think I'm better than any one nor did I ever insinuate that I was, I just think the real guitar is better than the fake one. The whole point of me joining in on this was to encourage a healthy hobby over a video game. I certainly had no intention of getting in a bullshit argument over my personal character. So unless you wish to argue the benefits of playing guitar, you'd best not expect to see a reply from me.
I remember this little 3D animation I was doing back in 2015. Was up for 2 nights straight. I came across this band on Spotify during so, and it pushed me all the way to the end.
This song was my introduction to C&C. In 2021, it still does not disappoint. I just heard Shoulders, and it ROCKS. And I had to come back for a taste of what brought me here, what seems like so long ago. This band is so underappreciated.
@@austinsfacials I did too, for a while. I just stopped listening to music, for some reason, and I didn't keep up with any new music for nearly 5 years. Once I started going back and looking for stuff I used to like I found out that some of my favorite bands were still releasing new stuff and it gave me hours and hours of stuff to explore that I had never heard before. It also allowed me to find a new appreciation for music that I had just gotten tired of hearing after so many years. I guess I just needed a break. But these guys are just as good as I remember, and in some ways even better, now. I have to say, I really like their new stuff from the last few years, even some of the stuff that diehard fans didn't seem to like as much. I thought _The Color Before The Sun_ was awesome, but I heard a lot of people didn't really like it for some reason. It was different from their previous stuff, but I've never minded different. Change is good.
When I was a sophomore in college in 2012 a few of my fraternity brothers and I bought tickets for a Coheed concert in October in Springfield, MO. Unfortunately Claudio was sick and unable to perform but they rescheduled it and came back instead of just refunding the tickets (bravo for that, what a statement to the fans.) Also unfortunately, it was rescheduled for a day in December when I was supposed to take my Circuits Lab final. I paid for the ticket, my friends were going, and I fucking love Coheed so I said 'screw the final' and went. That was, hands down, the best tough call of my life. It was by far the best concert I have ever been to and I don't regret that decision at all. Thank you Coheed for standing above the rest and making an unforgettable moment for me during some formative years. That's a core memory for me now.
I was 20 y/o in '05. Fresh from boot and in my first unit, D Co. 1-3 US INF, Honor Guard; my first real battle introduced me to C&C, 30 Seconds to Mars, Bob Marley, Chiodos, and so many more. Great times.
I've spent the last hour jumping around with Simple Plan, New Found Glory, Sum 41, etc etc. I'm going to be 40, this era is the best there will ever be.
i’ve been thinking about this song for years couldn’t remember the band name all of a sudden “ ITS COHEED ANS CAMBRIA “ and here i am lol thanks brain for the random reminder 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻

@garywyss4085 I'm genuinely concerned for your health, your hearing okay? Your mental state? Somethings gotta be wrong with you to say such an objectively wrong statement
i saw claudio once. real nice fella, i was broken down on the side of a highway in LA when he walked up and offered to help me fix my tire. i told him i liked his music and he really didnt seem to like that i said that, but offered to help anyways. so, we jacked the car up. he was even nice enough to get the jack out the trunk and the spare. when he was installing it for me he told me to get into the car and keep foot on brake so he can tighten the wheel and he would lower the car when he is done. so i sit in car with foot on break. after a 5 min i finally look back and he was gone!...so was my tire. i couldnt believe him.
I'm just discovering this amazing band. As a 34-year-old black man, I'd like to go back in time to tell my 16-year-old self that music is music and has nothing to do with race. I missed out because I listened to ignorant people. I relate so much more to this kind of music than the crap society would expect me to like. At my age, it's much easier to not care what people say. As a teenager, it's hard.
As a 35 year old white man I was blessed to be raised in a community that had a little bit of a lot of races and culture, I grew up listening to country with my parents, old school rock and punk with some friends, grunge and metal with another group, I also got to enjoy gangster rap like juvenile, DMX, soldier boy, hip hop, and introduced to the goat Michael Jackson, and then pop and even boy bands, jazz and blues and I learned early that music isn't about color it's about music I love and listen to anything because it all has a place in my life. I wish more people could be brought together through music and people didn't make fun of each other for listening to one thing or another. Enjoy listening friend.
It’s 2020, we’ve been sitting at home for weeks stuck under self quarantine and about the time I feel like I can’t take the insanity any more, I end up hearing this song for the first time in years. I’ve replayed it 5 times now and I genuinely feel like I can face tomorrow now. This song is so great and truly under appreciated. And when I needed it, this song stirred up something inside me to carry on and push through. One more listen before I fall asleep
Had the chance to work as crowd control for these guys and was thoroughly impressed with their live show. I’ve been a fan of these guys for a good long while and this song absolutely killed when it kicked in! Well done, Claudio and company!
I was like 18 when they previewed this song on their website , I looked of at my my girlfriend ( now my wife) and said " this album is going to be so EPIC"! Such a killer song. I am very grateful I have seen them live twice.
Damn my step dad who passed away last year put me onto this song as well as a bunch of other songs cuz music was the only way we could bond without arguing. I wish i could call him rn and have a convo about how fire Claudio is
Back in 2024. Remember listening to this song when it came out. Love the journey I've been able to witness as a fan. Love you guys! You've gotten me through so much with your music ❤️
It's 6:30am and I woke up hearing the intro in my mind. I haven't heard this song since 10th grade, 10 years ago🙃 Just drove myself nuts trying to find it then I suddenly remembered the lyrics. Proof that even in 2020 the human mind is amazing.
After a decade and some change, Coheed and Cambria had aged like a fine wine. They're even better than I remember and now I feel the lyrics even deeper. I will be rocking these songs til the day I die!!
They have a lot of good songs. If you never heard them I recommend the album this song is from. Final Cut and God's Blood are a couple great tracks from the album as well. Running Free although not from the same album is also worth listening to.
I listened to this song before the biggest test of endurance, perseverance of will, resilience of spirit, and attestment to athletics; this moment of my life took such a toll on my health that I still haven’t recovered. But I’m still here, and, I used to skate to this song in those same streets.
I'm pretty sure everyone can remember where they were when they heard this song for the first time. I saw saw them at Stubbs in Austin, they were opening for thrice and Thursday. As I got through the gate I this song playing but still quite muffled, his voice made me think 'damn these guys sound like a rush cover band'.. then I realized they weren't and I was listening to something that came from another planet. The rest of the show was underwhelming after witnessing one of the greatest live performances ever. These guys are surgically accurate live. Unreal experience.
cmz8706 Idk I actually think his voice matches his face, especially when you think about the rock singers of the 70s and 80s (exhibit a: Axl Rose) it makes sense.
Reliving the past is such a beautiful feeling. And that I listened to this kind of music and much more other bands. It's all coming back full swing and I'm now content.
Best!! In my 20's I worked at a local bar. I love to dance. I had a regular who came in and would pay me and my bartenders to come off the floor and dance to this song. It was a very busy local bar and everyone knew everyone. Everyone knew when it came on that I was to dance to it for a guy everyone loved. He passed away now and nothing is the same. Nothing will ever be the same...
As someone who went to their live concert in 2009 with Slipknot and Trivium and literally was arriving in the parking lot to "welcome home".. I'm so glad they're still at it with the hits! At first i was angry my sister made us late for our favorite song...but now...i hold those memories close to my heart.....she killed herself 2 yrs later and its one of the last memories i have with her....glad we connected through your music! And this is definitely a banger!💯🙌🔥🔥🔥
we opened in omaha.. all hope is gone tour... shawn and corey were local freinds from des moines put us on with dirty little rabbits... coheed was the highlight for me
It's been 19 years since I first heard this song on MTV. There will never be a time like that agian, waking up early on a saturday morning to catch the newest music videos. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this band again after all this time.
The beauty of music is that it can invoke feelings and express thoughts in ways that simple words never could. A friend of mine that’s in a band has this on his stage pants; “some days I need the music, some days I need the lyrics.” Music helps heal wounds that can’t be healed otherwise. I’ve never lost a sibling thankfully, but I’ve lost many other people I was close to and music is what helps me come to peace with it when I’m feeling down. Sorry for your loss, and I’m glad you found something to bring you close to him. I’m sure he’s smiling down on you.
+Jamie Norris I don't hear anything that makes this song sound like Rush. I'm new to this band and I was told it sounds sort of like Rush, but so far I haven't heard the connection.
+Alex Murphy Coheed is considered progressive rock as well. It's really not that hard to believe if you know what to listen for. Their elements are a little more subtle, but they're there.
I found this as the intro to NXT during 2013/14 and I was immediately obsessed and it took me ages to find the whole song, glad I did it was well worth it! Absolute belter of a song
if this is the only song you've ever heard by coheed and cambria.... i can assure you.. your missing out on some of the best rock songs ever created to date.
HellaHipHop Suggestions? I've listened to about 10 other songs from them now trying to find anything I love as much as this, but they sounded like a different band with far less amazing instruments and more pop sound..
In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth is badass. And the craziest part about the whole damn thing is that, if you listen to the albums in the appropriate order, it's the whole damn story Claudio Sanchez writes in The Amory Wars series.
This album is probably in my top 10 albums of all time. I remember practicing playing the drums to it way back when it was new, and still do here and there today.
I’m Michael Kenney’s (Iron Maiden) niece his brother Kevin is my dad and I had the ultimate pleasure to meet you back stage in Denver when you opened for Iron Maiden like a decade ago. One of my most memorable moments in my life. Love your music it’s very relatable.
I love this track. It's like a hair metal song from the 80s being played by a nu metal band of the 2000s. There just wasn't anything like it back in the day, and even now it's a rare thing. I wish all their songs were like this.
I’ve been trying to find this song for 10 years. I heard it in passing and couldn’t remember any lyrics and didn’t recognize the band. Today I stumbled upon it…it’s truly an amazing feeling.

You could've been all I wanted
But you weren't honest
Now get in the ground
You choked off the surest of favors
But if you really loved me
You would've endured my world
Well, if you're just as I presumed
A whore in sheep's clothing
Fucking up all I do
Yeah, and if so, here we stop
Then never again
Will you see this in your life
Hang on to the glory at my right hand
Here laid to rest is our love ever longed
With truth on the shores of compassion
You seem to take premise to all of these songs
You stormed off to scar the armada
Like Jesus played letter
I'll drill through your hands
The stone for the curse you have blamed me
To neverless wonder... happy will I become
Hang on to the glory at my right hand
Here laid to rest is our love ever longed
With truth on the shores of compassion
You seem to take premise to all of these songs
One last kiss for you
One more wish to you
Please make up your mind girl...

I remember this from Rockband! God I miss my childhood, it was truly fun playing this over and over with my friends till my arms gave in haha
alexander taylor Yeah, seriously. I was in 5th grade when guitar hero came out, yet I still remember choosing to play a real instrument over a buying a useless toy.
Travis Akins Entertainment isn't useless...it's like saying youtube is useless.
The guitar riffs on the intro and the way he came on the sing was hard ASF "YOU COULDVE BEEN ALL I WANTED BUT YOU WERENT HONEST"
NOW GET IN THE GROUND
This song was my introduction to C&C. In 2021, it still does not disappoint.
I just heard Shoulders, and it ROCKS. And I had to come back for a taste of what brought me here, what seems like so long ago. This band is so underappreciated.
Please tell me you have listened to favor house Atlantic...
@@austinsfacials Oh, yes. Odd timing, but very catchy. But, most of their stuff is that way, I suppose. Part of the reason I like 'em.
I feel that. I've loved them for years just forgot about them honestly
I actually heard this song in the trailer for the movie "9" lmao
The bass player kills it in this video. All great musicians but he brings the damn energy.
Yup Mic Todd, he's a greatly underrated bassist... Tons of creative fills and lines in the songs he played on, sadly he's not in the band anymore.
I have been saying that for years. As good as the guitar solo at the beginning is, once the bass joins him it just takes it to a whole nother level.

That's a core memory for me now.

i saw claudio once. real nice fella, i was broken down on the side of a highway in LA when he walked up and offered to help me fix my tire. i told him i liked his music and he really didnt seem to like that i said that, but offered to help anyways. so, we jacked the car up. he was even nice enough to get the jack out the trunk and the spare. when he was installing it for me he told me to get into the car and keep foot on brake so he can tighten the wheel and he would lower the car when he is done. so i sit in car with foot on break. after a 5 min i finally look back and he was gone!...so was my tire. i couldnt believe him.

Not caring is a very valuable skill!
Amen brother, content of character apways wins, respect.
