Hello, I’m Joe - I’m a guitar player, singer-songwriter, producer, recording engineer and teacher!
On this channel you’ll find my original songs, covers and solo fingerstyle guitar arrangements. My favorite music doesn’t fit neatly in a box so you may hear me play folk, blues, jazz, & classic rock - you can call it what you want; I feel honored to speak this timeless language of melody, harmony & rhythm.
I was born on May 25th 1991 in Kempsey, NSW, Australia. Since 2010 I have been based in the US and currently live in the Rocky Mountains of Montana with my wife, Genevieve (who teaches illustration on TH-cam!).
I play Maton acoustic guitars, made in Australia (just like me) and am very proud to have my own signature instrument, the JR Signature!
In addition to song performances, you will also find guitar lessons, chord breakdowns, TAB, tutorials, gear reviews and other guitarist related content to help you stay inspired on the instrument.

That background ambience thing at the beginning is such a unique and perfect way to use a slide. Also, Mike's lead playing is fantastic. Gospel and blues work so well together... my favorite style of music.

It all works so well. The heartstrings you pull here have my tearing up pretty fast on the intro. Then the slide guitar finished me off with that soulful country style sweet dynamic. Happy I can see and hear this today. It is like a blessing coming over me and my being. Thank you, Ziggy

My Mother’s favorite song.
Came from playing fingerstyle guitar, watched Joe twice live back in the days when he toured with Tommy in Germany. Nowadays I stil pick up my Maton, but I´m more or less becoming a Bass Player. To see Eric Fortaleza randomly here is great, found him the last years on YT, amazing style and his P Bass Sound with Flats never disapoints (didn't even read his name before I watched the video, just felt great when the bass line came in)

Not sure of Mikes, but my guitar is a Maton JR Signature
I built mine out of a Jaguar body and a Gibson style neck, put humbuckers in it. Bit of a prototype, but I like it!

So beautiful Joe. Been playing your version with some alterations. On the final D chord I play an odd D7, first fret B string; 2nd fret G string; 4th fret D string; 3rd fret A string. Kind of a churchy vibe with some tension. Thanks for teaching this lovely song!

@@Joe_Robinson Thanks Joe. I also love this Em chord, which I am sure you know about: Open E string bass; 7th fret A; 5th fret D; 7th fret G string; B and E strings open. Same position works for Dm, two frets back up.
