Next song after this one was The One. They were tied together through the piano. At one point Tales of Destinies and The One were going to be 1 song, but then then split them into 2 songs. I'd highly recommend watching The One Official next as it is a pretty cool song and what they did for the song was very cool. The One was Babymetal's love song to their fans. When the girls realized international fans were learning Japanese so they could sing along to the songs, they were touched and humbled so much that they created this song and learned to sing it entirely in English as well. Not only that, but Su would go on to address her audiences in many countries by talking to the fans in each individual language to show respect to all the different fans. Very cool.

Good reaction. They have only played 'Tales of the Destinies' live one time - this was it, 2016 (nearly 7 years ago by the way, your maths was way off) at the Tokyo Dome in front of 55,000 fans.
The piano at the end was the bridge into the last song 'The One'. The two songs started life as one but were separated quite early in the writing process - as the finale for their biggest ever concert at that time these two songs were perfect.
Reacting to 'The One' next would make perfect sense.
The next night they sold the Tokyo Dome out again - and they played a completely different set list. All the songs from the first two albums (except 'From Dusk Till Dawn' which was not on the Japanese edition of the album) and no repeats.
'Takes of the Destinies' is Prog Metal inspired by Dream Theater.

    👍 👍
For too long I have under appreciated this performance.
I always knew it was a Kami Band instrumental masterpiece but now I hear the beautiful harmony of Moa and Yui’s backing vocals and marvel at the choreography of all three girls. Suzuka is at her best here vocally.
And finally the production value is pure BabyMetal at its best. This shows why they are in my opinion the best LIVE band in the world.

    It’s the closing track.

It always amazes me how insane the tempo changes are on this performance. It's so clean it feels like they are a 30y of experience band playing prog, and they only played it once. Insanity.

    Tokyo Dome Red Night.
    Only Performed One time live.
    Kami Members:
    Mikio Fujioka - Guitar (RIP)
    Takayoshi Ohmura - Guitar
    Bothe (BOH) Saisuke - Bass
    Hideki Aoyama - Drum
This show was opened with "Road of Resistance" where during the chant Mikio goes out on the stage and plays the chant with harmonics. Actually it's the only time that a Kami member actually did something involved with the actual babymetal act/song.
The Piano is a backing track.
The following night (Black Night) Leda played with Mikio taking off.

I admit being like WTF at first since I was not much into prog metal at the time. But watching this unique (literally) performance all made sense to me. To the point that, followed by "The ONE" it's one of my favorites BABYMETAL moments.
If you pay attention to Mikio (RIP) and Ohmura, seasoned musicians, they are clearly enjoying themselves during the whole performance. And it's not because it's an easy piece to play. Sometimes I think that not being Mikio among us anymore is one of the reasons why they haven't performed it live again.
So, because of all this, "TOTD" is an absolute masterpiece.

its progressive metal song. the producer himself said that this song was written under the influence of Dream Theater
Babymetal mix a lot of genres and of course they couldn't ignore prog metal.

@Clay Mation I didn't intend it as a bad thing, by lite I guess I meant its short for a Dream Theater song, and the keyboard circus solo has many less notes than what Jordan plays haha. It all sounds great though!

Yeah, Tales of the Destinies... A musical rollercoaster ride....At first I wasn't that into it, when I first heard it.... But after seeing some musician and sound technician reactors reacting to it, and explaining the nuances of the song, I gained a greater appreciation for it.... As one guy said, the song was written by a mathmetician.... I mean, it was hard as hell to know how to headbang this, and the girls are DANCING to it.... Oh, has anyone told you yet that Su's in ears weren't working when the song started, so she literally had to play it by ear in the beginning. 🤘🦊🤘

For me this is peak Babymetal. The stage show, the Kami band, the performances of Su, Moa and Yui and the song - it's the best that BM has ever been.
This is my favourite BM song because of the "prog rock" elements and I was happy that their latest album, TOO, has prog influences. I bought the Tokyo Dome DVD just for this and the bridge into "The One". The rest of the concert is awesome, but this is the only live performance of "Tales of The Destinies" and it's the height of Kobametal's art/artifice/showing off/seeing what he can get away with etc. It's very obviously a homage to Dream Theater, "The Dance of Eternity", even the two titles echo one another. This could have been a complete disaster but Babymetal bring their unique singing and dancing talents to the song and the Kami Band are fantastic...as they always are. To so obviously reference another awesome piece of music and yet still be different and brilliant on its own takes a lot of skill...and either guts or hubris. The little "honky tonk" dance in the middle might be BM's last overt bit of kawaii and I love the shots of Yui with Ohmura in the background. I also love the way the ending resolves from the prog metal madness into a beautifully lyrical piano solo which then transitions into an emotion filled ending performance of The One.

about GJ song. There different versions of this song. Originally GJ perform by Moa and Yui (without Suzuka). But last time it perform by Moa solo.
so GJ! versions 2017 and earlier with Moa & Yui. and 2018 and later versions with Moa only.
There are 4 songs where Suzuka sing solo:
    Amore
    Akatsuki
    Rondo Of Nightmare
    No Rain No Rainbow
And there are songs WITHOUT Suzuka (Moa & Yui or Moa solo)
    Onedari Daisakusen
    GJ!

The One is your next step on the Road of Resistance. Arkadia is on the third album, Metal Galaxy. When you react to “GJ” the Tokyo Dome show is an extended version, with Yui and Moa getting the audience to clap along.

Nice reaction. Babymetal doing another Epic performance. I think they wanted to try and perform this song again for the 10 years of Babymetal shows at the Budokan. Su hinted in an interview that she wanted to give the challenge of this song another try and Moa had said she tried to do the choreography but couldn't remember which one they did for the actual show in 2016. Apparently from her comment they went through many versions of the choreography before settling on the one they did for the show. Personally, I would have been happy with any choreography they would have done for the song. Moa also had to teach it to Momoko at the time as well. Since they were doing so many songs for those shows. I guess they just dropped the idea of doing one of their hardest choreographies. Smart thing to do. Su wanted the ten years of Babymetal shows to go way better than the last time they performed at the Budokan. While the shows were great. For them things didn't go as smoothed as planned. Yui fell off the stage. Moa rolled an ankle. The 10 years of Babymetal shows went a lot better. Even though I just watched a video of Momoko almost falling off the stage. One foot on and one foot off. Su helped pull her back up. It happened so fast I don't think anybody else caught it. She wasn't going to let that happen again. When you've been performing as long as Babymetal has you learn a thing or two along the way. and now Momoko is an official member. About time. Maybe they were waiting for the right moment to make that happen. And then covid got in the way. Since the second part to this song is the One. That would be a good place to go to now. After that. The versions of GJ. The Black Babymetal version with both Yui and Moa. And the festival version Moa solo. The Legend S concert where the audience sang Yui's part. Great stuff for a great song. Enjoy the journey through the foxhole and into the Babymetal galaxy of music.

Very few people have reacted to Tales of The Destinies. They don't know what they're missing. IMO, this is the most technical Babymetal song of them all, and probably the hardest choreography, considering how hard it should be to follow the melody, since this is a Progressive Metal song, so tempo is all over the place. BTW, that was the only time they've played this song live.

    Tales Of The Destinies:-
A tribute to Legendary progressive rock band "Dream Theatre", Babymetal only performed this song once which is at the Tokyo Dome to a crowd of 55000 fans over two nights which total of 110000 fans. This song genre is Progressive Metal and different from "Dream Theatre" which focuses more on Rock. That night Su-Metal ear-in monitor malfunction just as the song is about to kick in, Su-Metal has to relied on The Kami Band tempo changes to be able to synchronise with The Kami Band and both Yuimetal & Moametal. Considered Babymetal most technical song and complex composition. As seasoned pros, Babymetal did a superb job that night. Those who love progressive music will definitely appreciate the technical aspects and precision of the Kami Band and Babymetal complicated choreography. The piano melody bridge will lead to the last song The One from their Metal Resistance Album. Progressive Metal at its best. Only done once live at the Tokyo Dome.

The legendary and singular (sadly) performance of TotD at Tokyo Dome. TotD is Babymetal's tribute to Dream Theater, specifically the song "Dance of Eternities". Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater heard TotD and gave it his seal of approval. Su and Moa said that it was extremely difficult to perform due to the many time signature changes, but they enjoyed the challenge. They have expressed interest in attempting it again at some point, so maybe they will perform it one day.

In Japanese, when “nai” is used, it negates the meaning preceding it. Example: Taberu (to eat). Tabenai (don’t eat).
