This video made my day, especially showing the pee bottle. So many van videos don't discuss this and how important is it, like the most important thing, right? Nice set up, and low cost. Chrome's advice is golden too: live in your van for a year, and you'll know how the "build" will work best! 🤟😎
That sounds wasteful. The North Face Inferno Endurance has kept me warm and cozy. I'm living in my Astro snowboarding Oregon. Been full time for a few years now. Shredding Bachelor, and Hoodoo this season.
I had to laugh because I have a red Safari Van, just like this one, and the door handles are so bad it's a crack up .. I've had to replace and repair them a couple of times. The Safari is a great bullet proof Van EXCEPT for those damn door handles .. HAHA !!!
Great video as always what you need to ask these people as well find out if they're full-time and why they're doing it full-time that's very interesting to me I like to get people's opinion on that thank you
It's not free in the Bachy parking lot. I believe it's $30 a night. Some snow parks allow you to camp in your vehicle if you have a snow park permit. $25 a year. Kapka bute is the closest one .
I just love the fact that no matter what's going on or what Happen to us but when we smile it make not much but one thing clear that we are going to do work and make it good on coming days. Have a great day 😊😊😊😊😊🤗🤗🤗🤗
After hours and hours and hours of binging on thermal conductivity I have the understanding that you lose more through the steel of the vehicle then the glass my experience 45 and up is very good once you hit 40° it's kind of sketchy at 36° the door skins lose more heat than you are producing to body activity and your comfort level goes to zero quick I had tried reflectix on the windows inside and out to no avail if you want to live in your vehicle and it is regularly going to be under 36 degrees then you might want to find some kind of way to generate some heat or add insulation to the door skins of your car or pickup truck in my case I live in a Chevy Silverado 4-door long bed
I just got one and wanna take mine to go skiing. I saw really the only insulation was on the windows that y’all added. Did this feel sufficient for like 17 degree weather? Any advice in regards to this topic?
I used a zero degree sleeping bag and had a buddy heater for when it was really cold. (Would never fall asleep with it on) but for the most part, the sleeping bag was all I needed
I installed 1.5" pink hard insulation from home Depot all the way round the back cabin and have emergency door @ rear and full door to van cab, both doors insulated as well. If I roast the cab with door open to cabin, shut engine & dash heater off and immediately go into cabin with door closed I am gd til' morning as low as 20°C (-4°F) up here in Calgary, Alberta. Also, insulation keeps van cooler in summer. He right tho; easier to heat than to cool.
There's a German sounding mini van camper who's also a mountaineer. Like me he's snow camped in a tent, and he argues the only thing you need in summer or winter is ventilation. Bob Wells from RVLiving has fascinating vids on his arguments against insulation, and he has experience living in Alaska in a box truck as well as vans in the desert. Static Van also argues against ventilation living in his Ram PMC for 7 years although he put in a vent in the bottom, he has no windows. Later on he added a MaxxAir van in the roof. Good luck and best wishes from Albuquerque 😊
What size tires are those and is that stock. I'm getting ready to buy some and I don't want to deal with it I just want some nice kind of busy tires like you got? Thank you
I'll let you know when I'm ready for my interview I forgot to do a few little things to my friend request I have an email you guys and find out when I don't know if you come up north
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures definitely my friend love you videos awesome you doing a great job interview and a lot of people this proves my point that people are finding a better simpler way to live or just to have fun whether you're full-time part-time or just simply a weekend warrior which is fine in any case you're saving a lot of money depending on what you doing and you definitely save a lot of money on motels and hotels .if you are a weekend warrior type person...
ska punk OI! alternative living some places make it hard like California. The ticket is around $160. Phoenix has banned all car camping recently. The cops know someone is inside because condensation builds up on the windows.
I don't personally buy into that stealth parking bull crap I think it depends on where you park and how you respect the neighborhood don't park in front of houses where people live residential houses with a View Park keep it clean tidy keep your vehicle nice looking and nobody even clean the cops will not bother you make note then I stupid people know you're in there and the cops know you're in there too but it depends on where you go and where you sleep at night I don't minute times I've never been caught or never been looking for that knock on that door as people always say it depends on where you are I guess.
Pretty simple setup he has there. I like it.
Thank you very much. Many more videos like this on here
Great Job, Tom. Keeping it Simple is the key! Safe travels and enjoy your adventures.
Thanks for watching Rita.
Great video man very rarely do I see an interview of an average person living in their vehicle good job bro
Thank you
I had an Astro van. Loved it. Handle on the cargo doors broke twice and I had to open the sliding door just like he did. Hahaha! Wish I still had it 😉

Hand warmers (10-15)can be tucked in sleeping covers or bags will maintain body warmth... for 10-15 hours, I think you know 👍🍀🍀🍀
Great tip

Door handles are easy to replace and you can buy them at just about any car parts store or on Amazon for around $20.
Thank you for the Suggestion
Advantage of GMC vehicles is availability for used parts as well.
i wish when i get old, i could have something like this as well.. I'm so envious right now 😭😭
Yes, put your mind to it.
Don't wait than. I am 62 :)
Great Tour

Design flaw
So funny because I have the exact same van as well and the passenger door handle busted and had to be replaced 🤦♀️😆
Sml problem in comparison to benefits with the Astro/Safari vans.

I suggest hard pink 1.5" or 2" insulation from Home Depot for heat and cold solutions.

This guy ruff's it,not your typical interview.im sure he is not full time
He was at one time
What does that even mean? He's just awkward. Most people aren't used to being interviewed on camera.

Totally
It's Patrick again with a man & a van. I might have missed it but is he full time or a part timer van lifer? Thank you
He is part time
Has anyone made their own pop up? Or rear extension? I'd love some input, recommendations!!
There are some Astro/Safari ext short top factory conversions tho not too common.

Agreed to not park in front of residences. The exception are apartments, blend in with others on road. Industrial areas gd as well.
