    The highlight of this episode was Sue and Tim's house. I was gobsmacked by the interior, really beautiful on such a low budget. Well impressed and totally not what I was expecting 😮 Well done to them. I LOVE the floor.

    The house that Sue and Tim built is just stunning. And not to mention the budget.. whaaat! They have great sense of space and aesthetics. The only other two things I would have liked seeing is a couple of pieces of art and a plant to reiterate the green on the outside. Amazing.

    That scaffolding on the floor is brilliant, and the unique kitchen totally works!

    54:25 they should turn the inner part of the curve wall into cupboards/closets or decorative shelves

    Cheers to Sue and Ken! Beautiful!!! Now I want to go round things out in my old 1950’s rectangular chopped up house. 😊

    I think that as soon as the couple heard about the new houses coming in, the couple should have simply reverted back to "plan a". The large window would shed light into the space, and a screen design similar to the brick pattern would give privacy... and they would have the curved stairs that he liked so much.
    I like Piers, but sometimes he butts in where he doesn't need to. He shrunk their bedroom by a quarter..... and ditched their deck in favor of closing the whole house, which trashed their outdoor-living area......... but on the show with Caroline he RAVES about spaciousness and openness to the outdoors.
    I would have asked the couple "What room do you spend the most time in?" .... if "livingroom", put that at the top where the view is unhindered, or if "kitchen and diningroom", put those at the top. It's possible to bring the stairs down across the bathroom and into the diningroom in order to maximize the bedroom level footage, but why shrink the master bedroom and cram the stairs into a cubbyhole?

    Love Sue and Tm's house. What I would like to know is how they transition from the mud and dirt of farming to the beautiful white living room and kitchen.

    Sue and Tim's house is simply gorgeous. But a bit of color in lamps, decor, or caps would've given more appeal to their imaculate white walls, in my humble opinion. They did a wonderful job and the most important thing is for them to enjoy their extremely hard work.

    As much as I love the look of the curve of their bathroom wall, I don't think I'd ever have an open bathroom. I'm just too sensitive to smell.

    A hamper/seat at the end of the curved wall was clever. The wall was thick so I was trying to see if there were cabinet doors on the inside of the curve to create storage. I didn't see anywhere to place towels, linens, toilet paper, etc. Seems like a unique, relaxing home.

    Very nice result from Sue & Tim, was amazed to find out it took them that long. Their own labor and secondhand goods helped and made it distinctive, love the floors and amazing kitchen, beautiful simple and unusual bathroom. No hand rail on the steps is a bit nerve racking but sure looks good. Open bathroom the same feeling.

      They make drawer fridge & freezers. I assume it's built into the island as well.

    • @NancyEly
      @NancyEly ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, the stove isn’t built into the island. It must have been around the corner to the left, out of sight. As someone who likes to cook, the layout of that kitchen seems to me to be very inefficient and difficult.

    This is all great. I am concerned about the lack of railing around those stairs though. You could easily slip through those wires since they have no horizontal connection to stop that from happening. Unless you fall toward them horizontally, which seems unlikely, they're not really much of a safety feature.

    I don't like having a toilet in a bedroom. The other reason for enclosing a toilet in its own room is so that the sound effects and smells don't travel.

    Would you want the en suite in your bedroom without a door? With your other half sleeping....do they want to hear or smell what you have done? Windows are there....but winter in England you want the heat inside and not cold with wondows open after a poo

  • @lizcademy4809
    @lizcademy4809 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sue and Tim amaze me ... when you realize you don't have to follow conventional privacy rules or anyone else's design sense.
    Take the bathroom open to the bedroom. It wouldn't work for a family bath, or when you have neighbors looking in your windows. Tim and Sue have no neighbors, they don't need to cover the windows. As an older married couple, they probably don't keep anything private from each other - a half wall shielding the loo is enough.
    As farmers, occasional bathroom odors aren't an issue ... or they can close the door to the bedroom and stay in the rest of the house.
    I would have loved to see the downstairs, especially the entry. Wouldn't surprise me if they had a full shower down there, as well as storage for their farm clothes.
    We're so used to thinking of farmhouses as conventional almost Victorian houses ... seeing one this modern is a bit jarring - at first. Then you realize it's exactly right. I hope they're still living there.
