I have an Ikea a mile from my home & it's in Costa Mesa. Now that things have settled down on the pandemic I will go there ---- with my caregiver. Norrine I remember the wonderful time you came into my home. I look at the bookcase that had a shelf which always was falling down. All it needed was a couple dollar pin in it & it has never fallen again. You did this for me. My husband was an aerospace engineer that didn't figure it out ------ it was too simple. Norrine thank you thank you for all.
My nearest IKEA is over 3 hours away, but only 10 minutes from my daughter! Another reason to visit her! Lol

Same here! I always plan an ikea trip when I visit! It's 3½ hours to my childs house then 15 minutes to ikea heaven! Lol
With my son all grown up, I'd always skipped the kids section but now I'm going to love looking around it for ideas 😄👍
About 6 years ago, I bought one of their Vadholma kitchen islands (with overhead rack) to use as a craft bench. I do use a cutting mat on it anyway but the butcher's block top has proved incredibly forgiving. I hang my twines from the overhead bar (on a homemade contraption 😂) and the metal pan rack is now secured to a roof beam for hanging up drying papier maché pieces from. I love it and it's proved one of the best investments I've made ❤

Hey Norrine....my IKEA is 2 hrs away but my daughter used to plan a day trip every 2 or so years, taking our Mini Van of course. We would extensively plan the trip ahead of time so that we had list in hand with measurements and even picked out a lovely restaurant for lunch. It was so much fun. I wouldn't be able to do that now because of health reasons, but I encourage those who can to do this with a loved one as it's not just super fun and 'super-savings', but a memory. Thanks, Norrine!
I love that. Hoping your health allows you to go again soon. We had one close by when I lived on Portland OR. We would take the kids there to play in the kid zone, have lunch, and just roam the store. It was a lovely place to just spend time.
Wish I had an ikea closer than 5 hours away. I loved so many of the ideas I can't remember which one I liked best. Lol. Thanks for the inspiration!

The Pahl shelf in the kid department fits on top of the big Alex. It has a green or white back side. I'm usthe white. It fits perfectly pen / marker and stamp pad storage.

The small containers in the children section reminded me of some wet wipe containers that were available when my son was small. They ere like giant legos in bright colors. They created great storage and were useful for play.
I was thinking the same thing and I had a teal one that I just gave to my granddaughter recently.
My kid is a senior in high school this year and I’m still using a bunch of the wipe containers from when she was a baby. That’s my favorite kind of storage: Repurposed I didn’t have to pay any thing extra containers.
Years I love that rolling cart with the removable rack shelves too!!

I'm 70 years old and never been to an Ikea!!! They're pretty far away, but I sure love when you go !!! I love all their storage but no room right now. I have outgrown my craft room!!! Will need to pair down!!!
IKEA is my home away from home. Almost all of my furniture in my two story home is from IKEA. Some are over 20 years old. Still sturdy, still functional and some being passed onto my son who has been on his own since 2013. I love my RASKOG carts. One downstairs in my craft room holds my sewing machine on the top shelf (upside down for flat surface) and the other one is a bar cart in our family room for the hubby.
My chaise chairs are coming up on 17 years old!!!! LOL
@@TheCraftyOrganizer Yes…. When you find something you love..and stands up for years.. you just keep it! Funny side note: I have all the IKEA Catalogs since 2004. CRAZY thing to keep, but it has helped me out with home inventories a few times. Sad to see them not have the catalogs now, except digital ones.

Definitely something for everyone at Ikea! I love that wooden sewing basket and was thinking it would be fun to have to keep my tools in it.....you know, hammer, screw drivers, clamps, etc. Thanks for sharing and glad to hear you are doing well! Take care!

Those small offset kids wall shelves would be great storage for behind a door. Mount a couple on the wall and you suddenly have storage where there would normally be wasted space.

I liked the cube storage and vintage inspired, my favorite was the two tower shelves you showed with the wooden shelf you can fit between to create a workspace!! I am going to bring that idea into my next apartment!

Fun Video =) I use lots of the kuggis and variera and LOVE them. I also use the glass shelves in my craft room (5 in one kallax cube) for specialty vinyls and papers. I use glass shelves and the gold wire bins in my master closet Kallax to divide the cubes in half and they work really nicely for clothes. The wire ones work nicely to break up a cube for shoes too. I have some closet cubes divided in half with glass and then use the larger square skubb fabric boxes to create a short of drawer.
I'll bet that looks so nice for the clothes!!!!! Great tips!

Love the little cart
bookshelf unit at 19:00 --I like to put whatever organizers I use on those dollar tree little wooden crates to create a small space underneath so nothing is ever really touching the surface of my desk. With a tray it's a great place to slide the things that inevitably collect on the desktop as I work.
I absolutely LOVE when you tour IKEA!! Mine is about and hr and 10 minutes away so I don’t go that often. I saw a lot of things on your video that make me want to go this weekend! Thank you for doing all this for us!! Love ya!

I use the Trofast shelves shown at the end of your section on the children’s area to store all my stamps. I have two hung on the wall above my workspace, so they are always with reach.
Loved the shelf unit with the boxes from the kids area. It would be great to organize my small craft products.

This was a great tour. I've only been through part of an ikea once, but have one about an hour away. I need to rent out borrow a scooter once we move & I get a room i can fix up. I think i was most impressed with the kids section! I love that angle topped desk, I could put pillows to put my feet up. I love several items I saw there, & definitely love the prices!! Thanks for this!

I love IKEA furniture, especially the white stuff.
One of my favourite IKEA items is a white kitchen/dining room table. I have one in my lounge & it looks great.
Another favourite is a yellow rug. It makes my lounge look so bright & cosy.

I've seen those little staggered shelves in the kids area. I've thought about those for my sea shells. As far as craft storage, I'm using a short small book case with the ikea boxes inside. I need more boxes but don't have the space or the room. Not sure what to do. 💁 Thanks for showing those cool options.

I just learned that Ikea stores are franchised! Meaning, they can buy their own items and why we sometimes see different sales and prices! I'll have to check out that cart and figure out how to get a better resource for you guys!!!!

The staggered shelf's in the kids section for holding small items looked like a DIY project that Norrine could do easily. Thanks for the tour of Ikea, I have in the past requested a catalog. But for me I have to use what I have, repurposed furniture pieces and such. But I have to be super creative in making the storage fit my small space and I generally have to stack pieces instead of hanging on the walls because of nail holes (old house, alot of problems). Oh, that Lustigt kids' wall shelf would be lovely for little apothecary bottles! Spray paint it any color to match your area, and fill it with little cork-topped bottles of spices or herbs or oils.

My favorite of the items you showed (albeit briefly) is the Nissafors cart. I got one earlier this year to store my "overflow" supply of (paper) punches. (I have 2 hanging holders I made that are kind of like shoe holders with the pockets, but I still have more punches than they hold!) The cart is quite sturdy, & I like that the trays have sides on them, so my punches don't slip out. I keep it in the closet in our craft room, and when I need to open one of the drawers it sits in front of, I can just roll the cart over a few inches to gain access to the drawer. It was a bit of a challenge to put together, just finagling all the bolts into place. But well worth it! I also have a Raskog cart & the wider Alex drawer wheeled unit in the craft room. I had to fix the bottoms of 2 drawers in the Alex when they started to sag. Thankfully, I found a good TH-cam video that a guy made on a cheap & pretty easy fix. I recently got the Raskog-esque cart that Target sells. It was maybe a little pricier, but Target is much closer to us than IKEA! So far, I actually like it a little better, since the radius on the corners of the baskets seems smaller. Less wasted space. Either is still a good option, though, imo! Anyway, thank you for sharing this trip, Norrine! It's been soooo long since Mama & I got to go to IKEA other than to do online order pickup. We want to wait until it is safe to go without having to wear masks, so we can truly enjoy the outing. One of these days...! I hope y'all are well. Take care, & have an awesome day! :)

I don't have an Ikea near me the closest is about 4 hrs away. But I've found a biz that sells and delivers Ikea for less, (the delivery fees) so excited!!!!

I’m so bummed out! I don’t live near an ikea. The closest one is a 4 hour drive away. But I got to go to one 3 weeks ago and I didn’t have your awesome items on my list. We ended up going by 3 Ikeas on our trip and I know I could have found most of the items you liked. But I did get all but one item on my list on this trip! Love your organizational tips!
