You made a bad mistake, after WW2 Vietnam was not ruled by France again, that's what the entire anti-French resistance war was about, haven't you heard of this? This was an entire war, where after the Japanese left (no choice), the French tried to send forces back to Vietnam to hopefully try to recapture it as a colony before it became too independent, however upon this attempt, the Vietnamese simply shot back at them and a war ensued, a war that the French lost, this was Vietnam's war for independence. The French never physically ruled Vietnam after they were kicked out by the Japanese, the French claimed it was still theirs after WW2, however they didn't actually hold control of it and it thus wasn't theirs in reality, they failed when they tried to recolonise it. Learn your history please, the French were never able to colonise Vietnam after WW2, so your map is wrong in colouring in Vietnam as French after WW2.
It was independent the entire time after WW2, you are correct, that's why it was fighting foreigners entering it's land and never gave up. However the way this guy made his video, he is only counting it as independent when European powers no longer claim they own it and acknowledge it as independent, which means when they ultimately gave up their attempts to recapture it. I agree with you over the video maker, what matters is the reality on the ground, not what some country claims it owns, despite not actually physically owning it. Vietnam wasn't under French control at any point after 1945, the French tried, but failed.
Very serious error. 南越(nanyue) is not Vietnam。 China referred to barbarians in the four directions as东夷(east Yi), 南越(south Yue)北狄(North Di) and 西戎(west Rong) 南越(nanyue)is an indigenous people of southern China. In 1802, Nguyen Phuc Anh established a new dynasty, and he asked the suzerainty of China to allow him to use "南越(nanyue)" as the name of the country, yes, a name with the ancient southern tribes of ancient China, which was a conspiracy, and if a name was used, when many years passed, the Vietnamese would tell people that the 南越(nanyue) of southern China is part of Vietnam。 The Chinese Jiaqing Emperor saw through his plot, refused his request, and named his king 越南(yuenan.English word: Vietnam), meaning the place south of nanyue. I admired the emperor, who prevented a conspiracy. Although some Vietnamese are still experimenting with this conspiracy。

@@hanyunyang9012 The Vietnamese hate to be called Chinese
@@tuanphuhuynh1592 I knew Vietnamese are not Chinese(actually, I did 't said they are). I mean in history , Vietnam was ruled by China long times like the United States was ruled by Britain.
The question is Many Vietnamese people think they were independent much early than 960A. The fact is even though there are some Vietnamese regimes succeed got independent from China, they were reconquered by the Chinese government.
Đinh dynasty was the first Vietnamese regime who has never been conquered by China.
The first song is called Edward Karl Hanson - Road to Tibet
It's not the same as Rannar Sillard's Road to Tibet
Well spotted, thanks. I've updated the description.
Thanks

Very excellent! I just wrote a book about them in Chinese……
That is the han language system which is still used in minority in countries like Japan or Korea. Until 13th century Vietnam just had their own language which is speaking now a day. and the new alphabet used when the French came.
@@nambao966 exactly the Han writing system was used by the Dai Viet to the Kingdom Of Vietnam before French colonization today the writing system in Vietnam is Latin

They were using a writing system called "Chao nom" ,After the French colonization, they used the Latin letters.
You forgot this, ollie.
hey, you should make the right panel way smaller so the viewer can focus on the map changes. Make it 1/4th of the screen and the map 3/4th
Great !
When will you video about asia come ?
It's hard to tell, I've currently done 2900 BCE - 221 BCE, so I still have about 2200 years left to do. I don't think it is any closer than two months away, realistically.
@@OllieBye Thanks for the information take your time and don't put pressure on yourself :)
Nice
lack of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa in the East Sea, it belongs to Vietnam since the Nguyen Lords in the 17th century
so it's been a thousand years for 1 counqest
Repect for you hard work!
Very serious error. 南越(nanyue) is not Vietnam。 China referred to barbarians in the four directions as东夷(east Yi), 南越(south Yue)北狄(North Di) and 西戎(west Rong)
南越(nanyue)is an indigenous people of southern China.
In 1802, Nguyen Phuc Anh established a new dynasty, and he asked the suzerainty of China to allow him to use "南越(nanyue)" as the name of the country, yes, a name with the ancient southern tribes of ancient China, which was a conspiracy, and if a name was used, when many years passed, the Vietnamese would tell people that the 南越(nanyue) of southern China is part of Vietnam。
The Chinese Jiaqing Emperor saw through his plot, refused his request, and named his king 越南(yuenan.English word: Vietnam), meaning the place south of nanyue.
I admired the emperor, who prevented a conspiracy. Although some Vietnamese are still experimenting with this conspiracy。
Yuan, Qing, Tang is not china, the dynasty founded by Barbarian not Hans chinese.

I almost forgot... French has donated Vietnam for 300 years, not 3,000 years.
In 1816, Laos, Cambodia belong to Vietnam
Next time make a video about cambodia map please.
Hello, I'm Vietnamese
This video is slightly wrong, Vietnam once had territory to a part of Guizhou, Guangxi, northern Myanmar - Thailand, Laos (Tran Ninh) ....
