    • @karthiksekar2009
      @karthiksekar2009 7 ปีที่แล้ว +84

      +Aryan Singh Parhar well each kingdom had its peaks, at its peak Chola had captured all south east Asian countries which no north Indian kingdom had done. At that time Cholas are said to have had more than a thousand warships. So each kingdom's armed forces n strategies developed according to their needs, north faced more invasions and developed its land forces while south developed it navy.
      Ur statement - I could reverse it and say North Indian kings were barbaric warmongers who never let their people live in peace while south Indian kings were peaceful. So its really a perceptive view of how you want to see it.
      Also the Maratas, one of the few kingdoms in India that successfully defended against the Moguls that even north Indian kings couldn't, has its part ancestry from South Indian kings?? So how are you classifying that the Chola dint fight wars ? Also I dont see how Cholas could have captured Sri Lankan,Burma, Indonesia,Malaysia etc without fighting wars ?
      If there was an Indian kingdom that had ruled for the longest time in the world be proud of it, don give me petty excuses to discredit our ancestry, funny part is you seem to be an Indian (from ur name) and not a Pakistani or Chinese. Guess we Indians are famous for digging our own graves.

    • @aryansinghpratihar907
      @aryansinghpratihar907 7 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Karthik Sekar Good points. What are evidences suggesting lineage of Marathas from South Indian kings? Second, i was not knocking Chola empire, simply stating the facts that they had geographical advantage.
      What are evidences of any major naval battles initiated or defended by Cholas? NONE
      Besides Beautiful Temples, Arts, and Cultures- there are NO evidence Cholas were invested into wars and defense.
      Unless I missed it in my high school studies- never ever read a single story on Raja Raja Cholas conquest or any other south Indian kingdoms. Lotta story about North Indians kingdoms. Why is that?

    • @karthiksekar2009
      @karthiksekar2009 7 ปีที่แล้ว +43

      +Aryan Singh Parhar well Marathas had their part lineage from the Pandian kings, Their later decedents were called Rao who now live Present day Andra. Not sure seema andra or telengana.
      google Chola empire (1000 AD) They captured till Bengal in the north and in the south their navy captured Andaman, Sri Lanka, Burma, Indonesia, parts of Malaysia. They build great temples there and helped spread Hinduism in those countries as well. I dont see how that is possible without without conquest through war.
      History books : does gross injustice to south Indian kings as almost the entire history of south India is ignored. One of the first recruits for INA under Netaji was an South Indian while the last kings to fall to the British was also a south Indian king. And struggle against the British started in South India started way before the 1857 Sepoy mutiny. But we dont read those things about them in our history books.

      Maratha empire was peaceful and only wanted to end suffering of Mughal empire. It is interesting to not just see what empires were there but also to know how they formed. Mughals were using great system of conversion to Islam, anyone who was not Islamic had to pay triple or more taxes and was very cruel on locals in general. So a woman, women were generally the victims of all crimes, dreamt of a kingdom where people won't have to suffer so she started teaching her son everything from moral, history, science and combat as well as tactics then that kid went on to establish Maratha empire where women were safe commoners were no longer hungry and even Islam converted were accepted.
      But after Maratha empire to Maratha confedarcy, next generation, they were cruel to commoners again galloping their lands so I'm kinda glad British took their chances when Maratha empire fought Afghan empire and got weak, meanwhile British defeated Bengal nawab and there was a vacuum of power after great war so British scooped right in.
      IDK why I typed this shit I should be studying.

      Its definitely true that geographical advantage of terrain were possessed by the Southern Kingdoms like the Chola Empire and that erosion of the ancient ethos in North India played an important role in its serfdom to Islamic empires ...We saw how the brutal Adil Shah raids destroyed Vijaynagara and razed it to the ground ..Having said that theres no doubt that the Chola Empires military exploits stand on its own weight , but the geographical distance from the Umayyad Caliphate frontiers certainly helped ...

The temples in Tamilnadu and Andhra was not looted by some blessings. Otherwise those looters came here to loot the wealth of this region and spread their nomadic religion and started the conversion activities.

    At 8:57 , when whole india is under British rule. only the Sikh empire was free. We taught in our textbooks that British ruled india over 200 yrs but punjab for roughly 100 yrs. because of Ruler Maharaja Ranjit Singh who literally started with a Village and expanded his kingdom from modern day Punjab to Afghanistan and Pakistan punjab to Kashmir. And fought the pathans and British at same time. But sadly after death of Ranjit Singh British took sikh empire under their rule.

She was married to the Northern Indian Rajput King of Chittor (Rajasthan) , Raja Ratan Singh.She had high moral character.To protect here dignity and honour,she burnt and sacrificed herself in Jauhar(pyre) in Chittorgarh Fort. There was a huge controversy last year, when a bad film was released which was objected to by many people.There were huge demonstrations in Rajasthan and other places. The matter went to the Court. Some wrong type of people tried to belittle the high moral character of the Queen.Hence Rajputs all over the country were up in protest against the film.

    • @rrb2nd
      @rrb2nd 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Rahul Deulkar, unfortunately Battle =/= war. The divided nature of the Marathas is why they never truly managed to establish themselves as an Empire. Shivaji was the true great leader of the Marathas, after whom they seemed to not evolve policy wise. Perhaps they could have, given time. Three wars were fought, each against one another, as much against the British.
      Even later, Jhansi ki Rani got no support from the Scindias, and the weak and spent Mughal dynasty emerged as the unifier for the supporters of the Revolt, rather than one of the Marathas like Nana Saheb.
      That India got colonised by a country thousands of miles away, with limited troops of her own, with no significantly superior technology, and aided by Indians is spectacularly shameful. Defeating the British militarily is therefore no great feat. Others did it too: Tipoo, for example. India lost due to her. disunity, which is why Gandhi was so successful, later. He managed to unite people across caste, religion and region in spite of attempts to divide and rule, granted, we got probably independence only due to the aftermath of World War II.
      Strange that a policy credited to Julius Caesar and used against the British, could be used so effectively 2000 years later in a different continent. Boudicca would be proud.

      Mehtab Yousaf it wasnt the Muslim from one place that ruled great lengths of land. The mangoals came and fucked all you Muslims in your own place than they converted to Islam then they moved to India. It took them many attempts to actually breach India. And India was never united under one flag thats why it was easy to defeat one ruler after other.
      But still if you talk about religion and culture we still are 80 % in numbers as followers of Sanatan Dharma while everywhere else like egypt, Iran Afghanistan Morocco Libya and others lost their own religion and values and were forced to convert to Islam...
