  • Taking care of the money treehouse plant is easy once you figure out this plant’s lighting demands. The money tree craves or lighting than a lot of the beginner low light in house plants. You should give her money tree 4 to 7hours of indirect lighting every single day. This plant can also withstand 1 to 2 hours of direct lighting a day.

    During summer months mine loves to be watered twice a week and sprayed with water once a day. Had it almost 2 years as a gift from my mom and this summer it started to put out the biggest beautiful leaves and I couldn’t be more proud since it’s my first REAL plant 🥹🥹

      Thats insane
      Mine are actively growing and they need it barely 3 times in a month

    Yep! I have a money tree that sits pretty close to a window and loves it. I water it only a couple times a month and it does great.

      Ya watering them is easy
      Just let it dry completely before watering again
      Kind of like you do with succulents to a degree
      It's better to air on the side of under water instead of over water
      The trucks of a healthy money tree hold a lot of water actually. So don't be scared to let it get dry before watering

    I've been watering my money tree from the bottom and it is doing so well! I can tell it needs more sunlight because it is wider than it is tall but so far so good. Im not good with plants but this one spoke to me and I've been giving it my all haha. So sad but true.

    A few times a month is too much water even
    Depending on the lighting and where you live but they aren't too thirsty
    I water mine maybe twice a month
    And I'm in south California. One gets a lot of direct and indirect sun the other full day time of indirect
    They grow like crazy just don't drink a lot

    I think people forget that they are trees. They reach up to 60 feet. But thats why they are sold twisted together. It stunts there growth. They are basically bonsais. I separate mine and grow them like normal trees and they are getting really big.

    • @sicktrick111
      @sicktrick111 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah but they are also a tropical wetland tree so they grow in rainforest and get a ton of rain and shade.

      And the story is some guy found one in the jungle and he braided it to "lock in the wealth" then they called it the "money tree" and its been common practice ever since.

    • @sicktrick111
      @sicktrick111 ปีที่แล้ว

      @mikaelafox6106 some of them will just be for looks almost if there isn't new growth coming off of it.... I wouldn't be concerned. And if they are shriveled it's the start of root and stem rot......
      From my experience you can heal the roots, with less water. But the stem even after it's healthy agai. Will remain. Damaged

    No you’re only supposed to water it about once a month I water mine once ever 4-5 weeks and it’s thriving watering That much on this plant will cause root rot The leaves are supposed to be a vibrant green yours are browning and a light yellow green

    • @eveieteatoo
      @eveieteatoo ปีที่แล้ว +8

      There is not a single fleck of brown in that tree except for the bark lol, what in the world are you watching 😂 because it’s not this video that’s for sure.
      However I also think he didn’t specify the watering enough. People who water their $ tree 3-4 times a month are doing small increments instead of a once a month watering.
      Bottom watering is better for most plants anyway.

    I received one as a gift a few years ago and watered it once a week, like the instructions said, and kept it in my office under fluorescent lights 6hrs a day 4 days a week (my work schedule). Even being under a cell tower full time and monthly feedings it thrived. For around 3 years I never repotted it. The only instructions were about watering, nothing more, not even the name of the plant.
    I moved to a new place and wanted to take my little tree with me. It, along with most of my other houseplants, are all dying off - ones I've had for years and the new ones I've bought for the new place. 😢
    I think it must be something in the environment. I'm so sad that I can't figure this out and now the money plant is dropping stems of leaves almost daily.

    My heart is broken, I have had “MOOLA” for at least five years. All of a sudden the leaves are yellowing but, new growth is also happening, so it now looks tall and spindly.! it is braided at the bottom and then over the years. It grew tall, and it is now braided into two sections on the top. I am half tempted to cut those two sections off and just restart the whole thing.
