Just across the road from the fun fair was in the early was St.Patrick's Open Air School, a convent for girls who couldn't go to regular schools due to serious issues. I was there for 5 terms when it became St.Francis Dela Sallle(?). Originally the building was the home of the Sandeman Port family. My Mum and I visited Hayling in 85 all that remained was the outer wall.
