I actually am getting petitions to reopen this line, and people ask what is it, so this will come in handy

Stepney and Newport both worked the Hayling Island at some point too I thought. There is a photo of Stepney in Southern Railway days in this video. The only preserved terriers I would think might never have worked the line might be Waddon and Boxhill, both having been in departmental service.

"The island of Stepneys is surrounded by beautiful blue Stepneys. There are Stepneys, Stepneys, and lots of Stepneys where the Stepneys sing. There are Stepneys, and Stepney mines, and Stepneys where visitors to the Stepney arrive..."

In developing Awdry's map of Sodor for my personal Thomas project, I have looked to the former-Hayling Island branch for inspiration in expanding on the branch line to Kirk Ronan from Kellsthorpe Road on the east side of the map, also in turn expanding on Awdry's profile of the Sodor & Mainland Railway and what became of the line following its bankruptcy. I also looked accordingly to the impact of Colonel Holman Stephens and his light railways, which also plays majorly into the history of the LBSCR Terriers. Regards, Samuel Farris.

    That was SO interesting!
I know Fenchurch and Stepney from the Bluebell, and hearing about the extensive LB&SCR service of the cute little Terrier locomotives, all built at Brighton as long ago as the 1870s - and then seeing them working too - is really cool.
And judging from the 1820s canal map at the beginning, it looks as if Hayling was intended to have a grand Georgian terrace to rival, or even eclipse, the Royal Crescent at Bath!

Really wished they reopened this railway as a heritage line because I live in Chichester and all the heritage railways are so far hopefully they will one day

The legendary series has returned! Just a suggestion, could we have the great central railway next? Thanks!

We visited the GCR weren't recently for the first time, so would like to do something on the line at some point. It'll be in the usual vlogs before then though.

It does make you happy when you hear 4 Terriers that were of importance were all preserved.
Great Video. When do we get Guide Rails on Fenchurch, Brighton and Boxhill?

Hey t55s did you know ballaarat made in Ballarat is a (somewhat) cousin of dolgouch without a cab in and most of its parts were made in England you should make a video about it :)

I suppose in theory they could but I don't think they'd have a good time trying to sort the necessary legal stuff!
