@@Palsa-Achilleus ... Happened to me for the LONGEST time when I wanted Mona. ... and even now... with a C4 Keqing, C4 Jean, C3 Diluc and C6 QiQi... I finally managed to get a C1 Mona during Raiden's banner and i'm a day one player who WHALED in the beginning for Mona and never got her. I only got my first Mona past the halfway point of the first year of the game. ... it's like they KNOW what we all want. ... because everyone else that I introduced to the game halfway through the game's first year, got her right away. And MOST of them have her at AT LEAST C2, which is all I want at this point. Then I can stop caring about her Constellations. ... the irony of the C4 Mona haver who doesn't even USE her... @_@;; ... truly breaks my heart.
The cool part about Keqing's burst as well is that it actually has a lag between the last few hits and when she actually rematerializes. That means you can recast her skill before the final hit and continue to streamline electro energy almost perpetually depending on your EM. Super fun
@@dumbassidot if it’s your first 5 star then use the *Lion’s Roar with 4 pc Thundering Fury or 2Pc Glad/shim + 2Pc thundering fury for Main DPS* but *for your Sub just replace Gladiators to Noblesse* and focus on all the three talents Overall the Lion’s Roar is one of the best weapons for a 4* Electro Keqing because of the ATK% and the refinement stat is real good when you focus on electro *but if you’re talking about psychical Keqing then 2Pc Pale Flame & Bloodstained with Prototype Rancour is the best setup but if you have the Aquila Favonia use that for any Kind of Keqing you make*

With the introduction of the new Dendro element Keqing has gotten a huge buff since now she can be used as a driver for Fishels assentation 4 passive because of her high electro application and aggravate not having as much ICD as the other reactions. I think you should make a video discussing how Keqing and other electro characters benefit from this.
not only that, the fact that she trigger aggravate make her able to bennefit TF set, get her E faster and don't run out of stamina, because more E+more Q= less charge attack
I feel really sad for Keqing. She's super fun. Electro in general has high dmg multipliers, but for some reason, Keqing doesn't. She should have dmg multipliers that match the likes of Beidou at least (in overall dmg, not necessarily one hit like the counter since it's a skill based mechanic). On Beidou's note - awesome character. I'm still gutted that she's intentionally nerfed from having Raiden Shogun as her driver.
@@Mehieddin7 I’m not saying she measures up to beidou. I’m clearly saying she doesn’t stack up to 4* beidou.. I’m saying she *should* deal comparable dmg since she doesn’t offer anything but dmg.
the fact that in keqing comps not running beidou with her can be considered a grief. beidou deals so much its crazy. she deserves the serpent that i bought.
I think if and when they release Keqing's signature weapon, the one she's holding on her Gacha card, and that one has something like "After dealing electro damage with your elemental skill, your charged attacks consume no stamina over the next 7 seconds" and has either a CR or CD substat it could literally fix her completely, something extremely niche to make her extremely good, something like what the cinnabar spindle is for albedo.
The solution shouldn’t have to be “have a gacha sword that is so powerful on keqing and no one else that gets rid of all her caveats just to make her balanced sword” is a good idea for balancing. I really want keqing to be good but that just doesn’t sound like the best way to do it

@@soy5977 i mean....Kokomi has a literal gacha weapon that literally only she can make use of. Keqing having a dedicated gacha weapon wouldn't be too far stretch especially considering literally every other 5☆ character has a weapon basically dedicated to them. It's only by coincidence that some can also use some of those weapons.
@@DashawnLoves I mean that's precisely why kokomi's donut is considered quite terrible. But to go as to make it only work on ELECTRO damage, I think, is going too far. Specifically electro characters? just to make keqing better? I think instead something else that can buff not just keqing, but buffs keqing a little bit more by filling a small small niche would be better.
i love keqing, she’s just so flashy and fluid, makes me feel like the female protagonist in an anime. but i just wish mihoyo would give her a buff, even if it’s unconventional to do so in a gacha game. i feel like they should make her do more electro damage when she applies electro from casting her elemental skill since it’s only for 5 seconds, or something just to make her actually feel like a 5-star damage wise.

It's not common to do in gacha games because there are countries that have laws that prevent companies from nerfing stuff in gacha games. If they overbuff something by mistake, it's stuck. Edit: later found out these laws are a myth

I really want Keqing, she sounds so fun to play with! I'm not great at games like this, I don't fully understand the mechanics or elemental reactions so I would never even notice her weaknesses. I don't choose my parties based on their compatibility, I just pick based on who I like the most. So I think I'd love her, I really hope I'll pull her one day! update: lost my 50/50 for zhongli and got her instead :') i guess i was still lucky a little because even though i lost, she was the standard banner 5* that i wanted the most and she's fun to play with, she just keeps dying because she came home instead of a certain archon💀)
I love her. She's beautiful, fun and has very fast charging AoE special attack, and near constant elemental damage potential. BUT. Got her around the time when finally promoting my former main electro (well luck) DPS through his final ascension and getting Prototype Archaic to R4. Artifacts for her are very hard to farm and by the time I finished my formerly meh Razor was doing much better numbers than her, a while more he even got some constellations and it increased further. Keqing is great if you have her from the start, but from all 5 star I got since she forever does the least damage and can only contribute when she's on the field.
Reactions are easy. Apply one element and then another for a reaction. If you look at the detailed stats section. It’ll tell you the reaction strengths of each reaction in elemental mastery. Good luck
Electro has a lot of identity issues, it wants to be offensive but lacks the reaction dmg, has negative suportive effects like knockback plus its ressonance is supportive but selfish. And the big issue is that buffing their reactions is very troublesome cause most Electro characters have high base multipliers to compensate for the lack of good reactions, so changing them could overtune it. Dendro's potential reaction is the only saving grace for Electro as an element.
Geo is also counting on dendro and see if they actually get a good elemental reaction because geo also suffers the most when it comes to elemental reaction in abyss
Its identity is energy-based and it's focus in teams is transformative reactions that stagger and battery. It's resonance is underwhelming because it gives so little energy but looking at most electro characters kit with the exception of....Beidou.... We have Fischl who can battery herself and other characters while providing enough electro for superconduct and other reactions. Raiden who literally refunds energy Electro MC who battery's other characters Even Keqing increases her own ER% Beidou is the one electro character with ER% problems What I think they should do is make it such that electro resonance gives way more ER%...like at least 25%ER? Well if pyro can give 25% attack for all party members I don't understand why Electro can't increase the ER of all party members...even Geo resonance gets this right.

He was close to useless when he came out, but after cn drama over Zhongli, he became the best utility character in the game, because there is basically no counterplay that game can offer right now. So not powercreep, but straight up braindead mechanic abuse.
I'm a Keqing Main. I just love how she is fast paced and low-energy cost and long I-frames. It just fits my play style so bad that I can't remove her from my team. Currently my main team is Keqing-Raiden-Mona-Noelle. I can spam any of these girl's burst like there's no tomorrow and still get their burst ready before the cooldown ends.

Im a Keqing main and i wholeheartedly agree with you, her damage output could be waayy more bigger than it is right now if mihoyo buffed electro and its reactions and made one of her constellations remove her stamina intake when using charged attack at her electro mode
or make her like Klee where her charge attack consumes not stamina but some "nodes" that she got after (maybe) using her skill or finishing a combo attack.
mihoyo will never buff characters that wont bring them money. all we can hope for is an electro buff. but even then still, nobody will use keqing in abyss since other electros also gets stronger. in conclusion : keqing's dead for harder contents unless u have some godly artifacts that if given to other characters would deal 3x the dmg keqing would
The problem with Keqing? Such little effort was out into her that her constellations are literally nearly identical to the buffs for having 2 of the same element on your team She is soooo fun though. I doubt they will buff a character they put such little initial effort into
Just saying, if electro reactions had the unique aspect of not having internal cooldowns, it would make the smaller numbers better because you can have more reactions.
Actually, one reaction that somewhat requires ICD to actually function is Electrocharge, and why that reaction is the most used among them, as the longer the ICD, the longer the reaction last. However, to apply it is the problem. The ones who are usually used to trigger it are mostly Hydro characters, and only Raiden can apply steady EC, but you sacrifice a lot of her damage just for that.

I fell in love with her when Genshin was first released and I was looking up videos of all the current characters. She stood out to me the most. 1. She's electric element 2. She does a teleport blink 3. auto animations are **chef's kiss** 4. Her burst is my favorite type of combat ability (characters who are so fast they blink and slash everywhere) she's basically a ninja 5. Her design is cute asf
I just love her because I got her on my first few pulls on acquiant, and she has carried me throught the game. Haven't taken her off my team, and I never will. She's also so cute :)
I started playing Genshin because I saw a video of Keqing soloing Andrius and thought, “Holy crap, that looks fun as heck!” I then decided to pull on the general banner until I got a copy of her. Well, ~$2,000 later, I finally got her. And she carried me through everything. She was the core of my Abyss teams when I started 36-starring it back in January, and while I have since moved on to new characters (just for novelty), she still gets first pick of artifacts and weapons. I have C6 Ayaka, but I keep Mistsplitter on Keqing. It’s *her* signature weapon. If somebody can’t beat content with Keqing, the problem isn’t Keqing.
@@TheCheeseman1983 You are right. I got Hu Tao a few days ago and my meta slave friend was annoyed as fuck because I didn't level 90 10, 10, 10 my Hu Tao like he did, I laughed in his face when I beat Azhdaha faster than he did.
One minor thing you did miss is that her E has minor traversal benefits. I used her a lot before I got Venti to help gain some extra height for tricky jumps or climbs.
That one world quest at... Tianqiu Valley with the 3 towers had us climb one of them in a time limit right? Geo traveler and Keqing made me finish that trial so fast lmao
There are quite a few characters who do just specialize in the Overworld more so. Between getting Anemoculus, Geoculus, taking out certain hordes in camps... Keqing does it all. It's only when Timed content comes in that she just shows her weakness. Which in itself is not bad game design but when timed content is overly used (Abyss, Trials, some events) a lot of unique units just lose.
I use Keqing in the outworld. I dont have venti so her elem skill makes traversing and climbing a lil bit easier, and more precise as compared to albedo's elevator

Honestly the teleport with her E is so unique I just wished it helped more with her fighting style. Paralyzing a Ruin Guard by teleporting up to his face is so satisfying. And is it just me or does her burst have more reach than other characters with AOE damage?
Her ult is probably the same range as benny ult, hutao ult, child melee ult etc... But the reason her ult feel more wider maybe because enemies can still run into Keqing's ult and getting hit while the ult is still performing. Side note: Keqing is probably have the longest ult animation in the game currently, I think. Also another note: I feel like the aoe of ult only have 3 types. Large aoe like Ganyu, medium like Benny, small like most of the 4 stars I think. And then there's projectile like Ningguang.

Keqing was my first 5 star and that's why I still use her after almost a year. And at c0 she is good... until you get to floor 11 and 12. Even with Kazuha, Raiden and Bennet in her team she just doesn't get to the double geo vape c0 Hu Tao I have in my first team. She does a lot of damage but not enough and for a shorter amount of time. I like everything about her but I had to overinvest into her by giving her a battle pass weapon. lvl up to 90 and geting her talents to 9-6-9 and still she underperforms.

I actually find it easier to use my Keqing over hu Tao and even ganyu where I run childe vape and Keqing respectively for each side. Raiden isn’t as compatible cuz she demands time that is being shared with Keqing leaving a duel dps that loses dps overall. I use c6 Sara and zhongli instead and i 36 starred spiral abyss using Keqing even for floor 11 and 12
Same, I used to be a keqing main until I reached floor 12, I could not complete the floor at all with Bennett kazuha and xingqui team. She’s c1 and I’ve Hyper invested into her (she does 7k per slash in her ult and 25k E) but I still could not clear the floor on time
@@granthini2335 have you try using her with Bennet, Xianling and Raiden or Kazuha i use that team with her as a Main DPS an finished floor 12 with 9 stars

I got 2 Diluc on the first Klee's banner and another 2 Diluc on Klee's re-run banner (the summer island event)... then another 3 Diluc on Kazuha, Ayaka, and Raiden Banner. -_- So I got a c6 Diluc who's my main DPS at the moment, teamed up with Mona-Lisa and Jean. And that's basically my main team outside of Abyss. (sometimes, I use Fischl instead of Lisa)
Your Lol content has always been incredibly high quality so it would certainly carry to other games. Also, the why no one/everyone plays series is such a good format!
Hi vars should I save for zhongli or should i get eula and then raiden (since eula and raiden are both a great pair) I've always wanted to get Zhongli but I have Wolves GS and eula seems fun also I do want raiden .

As a Keqing main, I think you hit the nail on the head. She is, at the moment, an amazing unit on paper that has a lot of flaws, and as you said, unfortunately, the bad currently outweigh the good. Despite this, I've dedicated a ton of time and tons of resources to her, having triple crowned her as well as giving her Mistsplitter Reforged, her BiS. While her damage isn't nearly as high as my Ganyu's, with high investment, Keqing is still usable in Abyss 12, and I've achieved 9 stars on floor 12 numerous times myself with her by my side. Still hoping they give her a well deserved buff in the future!
From what little rumours of the beta before release that I heard, Keqing was the last of the characters released for the beta. Back then, EM used to buffed elemental attacks by 1.2x dmg on top of reactions and superconduct reduced defense instead of phys resistance. This made Keqing a beast that even xiao, the most popular beta character at that point can't even hold a candle to her. Apparently, she broke the game and mihoyo was forced to nerf EM and superconduct. At that point, there's little to no time to rework Keqing and rather than working on her and delaying the game, mihoyo decided to keep it on schedule and made Keqing a standard *5. It's a rumour but with how weird her kit is compared to how the battle calculations work and her constellation on top of that, I can see the possibility of the rumours. But at the end of the day, I love her.

@@aakashkori6483 1. *Who do you like more? Who can you see yourself putting on every team etc. etc.?* 1.1. Personally my main is Keqing and Amber, and I love them even if they're not meta 2.1. Meta-wise, Mona is a great buffer and a good hydro applicator 2.2. Meta-wise, Sayu is neither bad nor amazing U-U She's anemo and a healer and her burst has a big range and heals and does dmg at the same time (at c2) 2.3. Keqing is super flexible and does not require a lot of effort - you can build her physical, electro, or em-focused 4. You said you were new, so there's no need to rush. You'll eventually get more characters, and considering Keqing and Mona are both on standard banner the chance to get them is higher than an exclusive character.
@@sstar339 thanks for the reply. I rerolled and got diluc . Now I am AR33 with diluc, c1 bennet, Razor and Noelle in my team. Also got a c2 Barbara, c1 sucrose and a c1 xiangling sitting in the bench.
@@aakashkori6483 Nice, diluc is the only original 5* worth using, his aoe dmg is still unmatched by any pyro dps, his simplistic gameplay makes him easier to use than others and is able to clear the abyss 12 , not amazing but good enough.
Honestly, people do use her a lot in the overworld since she's fun and most like her... They just don't play her in competitive places like Abyss and you don't see her so much due to her being the permanent 5*.

People enjoy characters due to many reasons, but some of them include how strong they are. We don't need broken characters, but if No One is playing these characters, something is really wrong with their lore or gameplay. Amber had amazing lore but horrible gameplay. Keqing has great lore but bad gameplay. Hence No One uses them. This series aims to show why exactly they feel bad to play (again, one of the aspects is not being able to deal that much damage)
@@byeguyssry Dude first of all it isn't true that no one uses keqing, and saying that she has a bad gameplay is really dumb. She is the most fun you can have in genshin after Kazhua and can utilize ALL the movement mechanics in the game. And , for 99% of the players she is more than enough to destroy everything there is in the game, the only part of the players that don't use her are the whales in the Speedrun community, and dumb "meta" players that would rather spent 2 second charging a shot and do nothing else besides that that playing an actually fun character.

I'm not sure where Vars got his data from though, so either the data or us are wrong. Furthermore... I mean, I have Ganyu C1 and Hu Tao C1, still can't 36-star the Spiral Abyss (only 35), which is unsatisfactory for some. Furthermore, I do not understand why you put "meta" in quotation marks (it's an actual word), why you call then dumb (it's a playstyle; for example in card games I like to play meme decks instead of good ones) and why you feel that Ganyu isn't fun. I love her playstyle because I can't use her with Zhongli (he's with Tao) and it tests my aiming skills, reflexes, and risk assessment (ie. Whether I ought to dodge or pray that I'll freeze the enemy before that). In contrast, Keqing is literally just spam CA... (don't attack me in truth I actually love her I rerolled for her)
It's a bit of a shame that she's lacking a true damage-enhancing elemental reaction. Overloaded is still a janky reaction for melee characters to consistently utilize, and electrocharged works well in very big groups, but is a little too unimpactful with fewer enemies. They designed her skills to be very tactile and mobile, she feels really good to control and is probably the best character in the game in terms of combat mobility options with her stiletto, her final hit in her melee combo, her charged attack pushing her backwards, and her burst s, all of which can be chained seamlessly. I completely understand why she has die-hard fans, and she's perfectly usable in all content, but her kit is a victim of circumstance in that she has to compete with characters that can do 20x the damage she can because of the elemental reaction system and how crits work.
Overloaded only works well with large enemies, since smaller ones tend to get launched away (making you waste time and energy chasing after them). Electrocharged is better with more enemies since the damage procs faster, but the damage itself is quite low. Superconduct is more of a supportive reaction like swirl and crystallize, plus the benefits are going to decrease the more constellations Keqing has (her constellations focus entirely on Electro Keqing)

At first I wasn’t much interested in Keqing. However, after meeting her in the story and then when I finally got her early this year, I replaced whoever was my main(I believe to be Lumine)for her, and began to build her. She has not left since. Absolutely love her not just for play style but in general.
Me too, she totally rocks, she is a extremely fast attacker and. navigating the maps with her is awesome. She is really fun to play with. I use her as my main carry and I will for some time.
As a Keqing main, I'm glad I watched this vid. I was always a bit confused on why Keqing was considered one of the worst 5 stars (other than Electro being total ass and there being some truly way more op DPSs) but this vid helped show me. Especially the point on how multiple chain attacks are so much worse for reactions than a big singular burst attack. I hope someday they actually buff her alongside some other characters that could use it. But I have strong doubts they're gonna buff such old characters at this point. And besides, I'm still gonna use her, cause damn she's still the most fun character in the game to me.
2023... YAE burst can fail. and yes she does it. Raiden with 1 hit can fail und 50k dmg for nothing. Keqing can do the same dmg. but Keqing does it with ALL enemies in her area and not only 1 enemie who runs away and you fail. i dont understand that point. Keqing ist still OP her own way. If she is good built. Idk what Cyno can do. dont have him. Raiden is good, YAE is perfect and Keqing ist still all of them + waifu love. i dont have Keqing on my main acc but i dont want any charakter so hard to get as Keqing
As a Keqing simp with no Keqing, I'm sad. Her gameplay was the most aesthetically pleasing and cool looking one back when they released and actually, it still is. If Dendro reactions can give a nice buff to Electro, it can make Keqing better. And I want it to happen 😢
Another likely buff method for her would be for a new artifact set to come out, which would be really good for her. Maybe a stamina based one, that could be interesting.
Honestly, when I first got Keqing as my very first 5 star (Even though I really wanted a Diluc and I was jealous that everyone else got a Diluc when the game came out), she really does a lot to carry me throughout Liyue to Inazuma. Until, I kind of replaced her with Raiden Shogun. She still holds a lot in my good memories of Genshin character performances. She becomes even more of an asset to my team when after doing her burst, you can actually control her before her burst ends and do additional damage, whether it is to pop another e skill or just spam her auto attacks.
I got Diluc as my first 5*. I'm new to genshin.. 2 months in or a bit longer. Out of the five 5*'s you can get if you lose the 50/50 or on the regular banner, I have Diluc and Jean. Getting Mona would be great. Or Keqing or even Qiqi. Keqing I really like her design. For over world the game is easy enough just to play characters you like. Diluc's gameplay can get kind of repetitive imo. His best reaction is vaporize and melt not changing your party up or trying different things can get boring.
@@juzkickback3117 You can actually use her while the animation is still ongoing. The moment her body is visible again she can be controlled, even if the burst is still going on, this can really help doing some extra damage
keqing in my opinion is one of the best, she’s fun to play, beautiful aesthetic and burst, easy to build as physical or electro dps, easy exploration with her teleporting and she works with craftable weapons as well, it’s just my opinion
Versatility is her best asset and also her downfall, Jack of (almost) all trade but master of none. good in exploration (a freaking teleport duhh), fast, deals damage consistently, flexible between elemental and physical damage build, reliable on field electro applier, doesn't need healer to an extent, and a tsundere! She's the perfect first 5 star to start your game. But that's it, for every point she's good in there are better FOCUSED alternative. A cheap mall that has just about everything but you would rather visit various shop that each expertise on their respective trade, just an analogy. She still best waifu tho.
This game is too gear dependent that even Barbara could destroy bosses with the right gears. That's why I never listen on popularity rankings since it's not a pvp game anyway.
Keqing is one of my stand-out party members in the overworld. She's amazingly fast, especially with a speed-boosting sword, she recharges quickly, and her cooldown times are pretty low. Near water or in the rain, she's devastating due to electrocharge, and in combination with either of Xiangling's elemental attacks, I can get her ultimate to fire and produce the overloads I need to take down most of the bosses almost effortlessly. I don't spend a lot of time in the Spiral Abyss yet because I'm still trying to get all of my characters, talents, weapons, and artifacts leveled up, so I have just been enjoying her genuine utility. Thanks to her lightning stilettos, she's even good at helping me reach enemies that suddenly hover out of reach.
I LOVE Keqing, she's one of the most fun characters to play, even if she can't compare to others. Her speed and skills bring so much more.... like, actual gameplay into a fight compared to a burst swapping build. Burst swapping can get super boring, if i'm honest. Also units like Xiao, for example. I find him so boring, unfortunately! :,( I'm never bored with Keqing. Also top tier world exploration lol, I can always use her e skill to get to hard to reach places!
I'm surprised by this, tbh. I'm relatively new to GI, and Keqing was the first (and currently only) 5-star character I've gotten. I find that she *excels* at dps. Especially in Inazuma, where there's so much shoreline and enemies clustered near water sources; her ult *demolishes* in water.
Most comparisons of how good a character is focus more on the system of abyss, since you can really run anyone out in the overworld. She is fun, but the instant you start trying to min/max, she just doesnt have a leg to stand on. Vaporize, melt, and swirl just outclass electro options as of this point. As mentioned in the video, electro is just too weak reactionwise.

The reason is because most youtube genshin impact creators focus on spiral abyss, they rate characters on how they perform there, for example i use diluc in the world, where he excels, but in the abyss he's average, so most genshin impact youtubers will call him trash
I use Keqing with Chongyun and Xingqiu. Practically perma-freeze, enemies stay in place when using her charge attack and she can use Blizzard strayer. Would recommend!!
Might be better if you built her physical instead of being a cryo herself. I recommend teaming her w xingqiu, dionna, and rosaria (if c6 rosaria, the better).
I was thinking the exact same thing! Take away the useless C2 that gives her energy particles for an already very low burst cost and replace it with giving her 0 energy cost on her charged attacks for a certain duration after using her Burst. (Or heck even her Elemental Skill if we want to make her even more viable!) That simple change would go a long way in helping her feel more like a 5* DPS.
Absolutely. Since I got C2 she usually has her Q recharged before the animation ends. Knockback is still a problem, though. Look at Ayaka, has a stamina management option at C0 AND her CA doesnt have knockback. Stronger element, also an infuser, closes distance fast, stupid strong multihit Q (but with the benefit of freeze so the last hit doesn't miss), most sustained damage comes from CA. She's like a total upgrade to Keqing except she can't teleport.
keqing main, she was my first 5* and I committed to her. Being able to run her with a physical build was great the first 8 months i was playing until I was able to really start figuring out elemental reactions with other character. I... I have her at c5; I've gotten super lucky because I only mangaged to pull her once on her banner. And I have the max mistsplitter and triple crowned... With c6 Beidou, who she is able to drive with her quick attacks and beidou's electro shred coupled with anemo VV 4pc set is so good ESPECIALLY because electro charged is insane. And her teleport during her combo? It's enough I-frames to get by with after enough time playing her to learn the timing. Overworld with her teleport cannot be stressed enough; ESPECIALLY the first year, with no venti or kazuha to help with vertical wall scaling. AND SHE NEVER STOPS CALLING YOU OUT FOR BEING LAZY AND KEEPS YOU ON TASK LOLOLOLOL
I rerolled a new acc Expecting a 5 star , nothing happened Until my like 17th pull or so and got keqing. And Within next 10 pulls I got a diluc. I played around with Both and The Game content Became way easier than it was before. Diluc got a WGS So he became main dps in abyss while I use keqing for just Playing around and Exploration. I honestly wanted her at her best and I actually Ended up Getting Mistsplitter and She's Rn triple Crowned. I didn't do much research on her Capability Increase like u Did But I still love her as a character and My first Five Star.(currently on a break from Genshin cus F2P and bored)
Keqing is easily one of the most fun characters and EASILY one of the best overworld DPS. But that is the issue; overworld. She is god-tier for exploration and camp clearing, but is barely worth anything in abyss. Its why she was universally seen as S tier during the first month, when abyss was pathetically easy and most play time was exploration.
It feels frustrating to have electro done dirty like that, given that it fields a lot of characters I personally like. Vars, would you maybe be interested in making a video where you talk about all electro characters and the problems they share, providing solutions on how they could be fixed or made more viable? Or one where you give ideas on how to make all elements more balanced in relation to each other? Don't know, either could be pretty interesting to hear from you.
Fyi the only bad electro char is keqing and probably lisa, but lisa can bring ttds and give defence reduction. fischl is an amazing off field support giving constant electro and dealing great amount of damage, beidou is ONE OF THE GREATEST damage dealer in the game if you got her c2. Electro MC is a good support that can battery the team, Raiden Shogun is one of the best burst support in the game and a good main DPS. You can check videos on the characters i mentioned and if you realize their true potential, they could carry you in abyss. I use an electro charge team which Xinqiu/fischl/kokomi/beidou or swap xinqiu to suqrose depending on the second party and they can clear abyss 12 in under 1 minute 30 second. People underestimate electro TOO MUCH Edit : electro is 100% viable people just dont know how to use them. Edit 2 : i forgot about razor since hes a physical main DPS. Hes also a good main DPS character and the fact that HE IS ELECTRO make him a better character because he need superconduct LIKE EVERY OTHER PHYSICAL DPS. Edit 3 : fuck i also forget about sara

@@Internextion What? This video literally goes over why Electro as an element in and of itself has some issues with identity, and what they are. He didn't mention the battery part of its current identity, or if he did it was very brief, but in no way does this video misinform its audience by saying electro is perfectly fine as is. People are seeing that some electro characters are good, such as Raiden, Beidou, and Fischl, but they're not good because of their element and (most) people know that. And even if it did, the vast majority of the playerbase is aware that Electro as an element has its problems that need fixed. Well, vast majority outside of some people like Space Frog who really think it's fine as it is.

as an ex keqing main i agree that she feels relatively very underwhelming even compared to some 4 stars . she's not bad but the fact my yanfei can do twice more dmg than her with almost similar stats . edit : also yeah even if yanfei is pyro , i can tell even beidou as a 4* electro does more than her sadly
I was a keqing main for awhile, she’s fun to play and I love her animations, but she doesn’t have any good reactions which is really big in Genshin, I eventually stopped using her in favour of returning to my klee
Love playing Keqing as she's my best speed damage dealer. Got a Primordial Jade cutter which helps her out. My biggest disappointment with her is that her overworld passive is the exploration timer buff. seems like a 5* character shouldn't have that one. Something regarding crafting boosts or experience boosts would be so much more on brand.
im a keqing main and personally i love playing with her shes so fun to use. i dont understand a lot of the technical side of genshin but using her with support characters that boost her element really makes combat fast paced and easy. i was so excited when i got diluc but i find he is really slow and not being able to 'teleport' across the map like you can with keqing is just tricky. i dont know where id be without her
I love Keqing. She was my first 5 star, and I got her within my first ever pulls in the game ever. I just started playing the game for a mere 24 hours and I did a single pull, and I got her. She now has Jade Cutter. :]
Points I like to highlights: - 5* > 4* in gacha isn't necessarly true. I have seen countless 4* stomping 5* in FGO for instance. And it's true as well in Genshin Impact: 4* Bennett is argually the most broken character in the game even compared to 5* support like Kazuha. 4* Barbara is better than 5* Qiqi because her kit is just better. The only thing 5* are guaranteed to have over 4* is more raw stats but that's all. - Triggering electro reactions on weaker hits doesn't matter electro charge is DoT style effect and doesn't amplify the trigger hit. Moreover amp reactions on a single big hit aren't the be all and all of the game. Ayaka strongest burst in the game and her Burst mod is quite similar to Keqing's Burst with a lot of multiple small hits than a sighly more powerful final hit. What Keqing lacks in that departement is just raw number. Her burst has weak damage and act more as a support tool for herself than anything else. - Buffing electro and turning it into an amp reaction based element like what the community want isn't a good idea. It would overbuff electro characters that are already scaled accordingly. If Keqing wasn't held back by stamina consumption issue, she would be at least on vape Diluc level.
Well said. Its also weird that he put xiangling as a support when the only role she shines at is main dps unless you define dps units to only include on field ones
@@kunkker77 Some people just consider that anything that isn't meant to remain on-field to do damage is support. And what they call "main dps" are unit like Diluc or Keqing: characters with a lot of staying power. Personally I find this classification inaccurate for many reasons. I perfer to devide units between on-field carries, off-field carries, on-field support and off-field support. For me depending on how you play Xiangling she can be either an off-field carry (in a "national" setup) or an off-field support (for reverse Ganyu).
bennett is only considered better than kazuha because he is more accessible and can heal. kazuha has great CC and 100% buff uptime unlike bennett. keqing can be vape diluc level or better with the correct supports, namely kazuha and C6 sara. and her burst isnt just a support tool, it's a big percentage of her AoE damage.

But proportionally speaking Keqing Burst doesn't represent the major part of her damage. You realise that Keqing just need 2 N1C to dealt about as much damage as her burst and within her burst window she can definetly fit more than just 2 N1C combos (btw you also used 1 E to dealt AoE damage that about 33% of the AoE damage dealt by Keqing).
what this game made me believe is that keqing actually loves the low damage output: she is a combo character, looks to be cool, not deal high damage and in that aspect, no one even comes close to her throne she has an option for almost every single enemy in the game as long as electro works againts -poke the enemy from far away with pin and charge attack -destroy geo shields with plunge attack by aim the pin the air , dash to it and glide -push enemies to your pin with your combo and end it with a charge attack near your pin explosion i dont use her to see "big number go brrr" i have ayaka and mona for that... i love keqing cause it just makes me think while fighting a tought enemy "how should i dance on his funeral ?" the 2 closest characters that comes close to her gameplay is xiao and eula the problem however, xiao is a pogostick and nothing else and eula is a nuke so yeah, she has the throne of having the most complicated skill expression kit in the entire game and by a landslide
I love Keqing and how you need to get creative to maximize her, but there is another 5* that also has this aspect and is much more viable. Jean is a far superior "think while fighting unit"
I only started playing a few months ago and Keqing was my first 5* as well. (My only other one being Tartaglia that I just got). I think you stated it really well in that she feels incredibly fluid and cool to play, but is held back by a series of compounding issues. I am in the camp that would like to see the Electro resonance and reactions get buffed to suit a role. If it wants to stay in the vein of a utility focus, that's fine but the behavior of the effects should suit that intent. The resonance could be a more general battery effect and the reactions should probably have less glaring anti-synergy or inconsistencies. I think Raiden, Sara, and even Electro Traveler are units that demonstrate how Electro can be used as an aggressive semi-support element and I hope that we see some positive changes which reflect that mentality in the future.
She was my first 5 star unit that I got. My friends told me that she is bad, but i really love her, because of her fluidity. I love that i can do small trix like 4 aa then a charged attack . I hope she will get more attention in the future. :)
I'd love to see more of these videos, especially for more Older Characters like Qiqi, Diluc and Jean. A Lisa or Qiqi video can be very good choices for it
Keqing is my first 5 star and she's my second dps it's just she doesn't have dmg multiplayer like any electro but if you build her right she's pretty strong I use her at abbys all the time man I hitted 50k with keqing she's very fun to play ofcourse all characters are fun to play with. But mostly all of my 5 star characters are support.
I also quite like Keqing, but I'm surprised that in your discussion of her charged attacks you didn't mention that unlike other sword users, her charged attack makes her *backstep* so that even if the enemy is stationary, you still have to dash to avoid getting out of range of your own strikes.
That's true but you can actually cancel the backstep animation if you time it well with a dash. Tho, you could argue with me on this one that by doing so it makes her use more stamina which is true + it's not that easy to time it and sometimes you'll mess up and do 0 damage. I just learned about this maybe a few weeks ago and I'm trying to use it in practice bad man...once you get used to a certain way to play some character it's so hard to suddenly change it. Does anyone of you guys also cancel the 5th attack animation and do a charged attack instead?? I'm doing it on autopilot now even tho I'm missing on that final hit that does like what 100% something damage? The way I try to do it now is do a full 5 hit then a charged attack in the back after she dashes through the enemy. I wish the defense was weaker when striking the opponents in the back... Anyway...I don't watch a lot of genshin "how to play" videos (just the once about puzzles, LOL) but this one really got my attention and I think I'll watch more of these in the future! Great job man. As u can probably guess I'm a BIG Keqing fan myself (gotta change the way I pronounce her name in my head now as well) and I hope she gets some love in the games future.
I got Keqing one year ago, right after her first appearence in the game. I was happy because I loved her character in the story. I've been using her time to time while exploring the world and I still love her. She's the most precious to me along with Klee and Albedo. Even though I'm a meta player, I think that Keqing is okay and not every character has to be a great DPS. I'm sure that there are a lot of people like me.
I can never comprehend these mechanics well enough to actually apply them right, but I personally like Keqing because, well, she can *teleport*. What more do you want? If you aim her skill in the air, you can do plunging attacks. If you aim it away from an enemy, it could help you dodge what might be a devastating blow. She can get you into areas faster than climbing or running. Also, as someone who prefers prolonged damage over outright one shots, Keqing is really fun to do damage with.
Taking ur time for aiming and plunging is just a huge dps loss... Yes it could be used for dodging but not in the way you explained. Again taking aim and placing ur stellar and dodging before the enemy dmgs you is too ambitious. Not saying she is trash, she my main dps and will be until the very end. Still hoping Mihoyo brings changes and makes her or the reactions stronger, cuz she has a lot of potential.
you'll literally die by most normal enemies lategame because they completely ignore most of Keqings movement and just track you anyway. keqing is sadly completely fucked. Electro keqing is, funnily enough, 10 times worse than a fully build physical damage keqing. Phys dmg keqing with the 5* phys sword + bloodstained on charged attack spam outdamages ANY electro keqing. Her CA multipliers are exceptional for physical, but dogshit for conversion to electro. Conversion dmg SUCKS so hard.
@@tarun3661 honestly, that situation has a pretty simple solution, but most ppl probably won't use it because it involves amber. Baron bunny has saved my life many times by distracting the enemies, giving me an opening to fire fully charged arrows in the middle of a swarm of monsters. If it buys me that much time, then it can get me enough time to aim Keqings skill where I want it to go
@@brosephstinson1297 When properly optimized, electro Keqing handily beats physical builds. Physical Keqing is a valuable option if Keqing is your most invested carry, for situations where electro isn’t viable, but electro will deal significantly more damage in most situations. Not even sure what you’re trying to say about her electro infusion. Her CA scaling is exactly the same, the only difference is the damage type. Physical can benefit from superconduct, but not from VV shred, Kazuha’s elemental damage buff, the Mistsplitter’s passive (which is her best-in-slot weapon by a significant margin), or any of her constellations. Physical Keqing was mostly a product of there being no good weapons available for electro builds, but Mistsplitter ended that era. It’s one thing to acknowledge a character’s flaws, but quite another to exaggerate them to the point of absurdity. Keqing is a completely viable carry, I used her when I first started 36-starring Abyss back in January, and she still handles it quite effectively. You can find videos of players soloing 9-star floor 12 clears with Keqing for every Abyss configuration (that doesn’t involve Abyss Heralds).
@@TheCheeseman1983 you dont know how infusions work then. With the same stats, on an enemy with the same resistance against physical / elemental damage. The physical damage will always be higher. There is a hidden debuff on infusions, its obvious especially on Ayaka you can see that hardcore. Mihoyo just doesn't show that, but infused attacks CLEARLY have a damage nerf in exchange for the element infused.
Keqing is the best for exploration. The main reason for that is her elemental skill for reaching difficult to reach locations and climbing. She does well as a physical damage dealer for when you run up against opposing party elements and yes her burst gives her a nice length of invincibility if you are stuck. I combine her with Noelle to make a solid long exploration team that doesn't require food or statue visits. Of course none of this matters in the Spiral Abyss so hardcore players who brag about character stats don't recognize this as traits worthy of mentioning.
Yeahhhhh, spiral abyss just is so meta n I hate when ppl brag about it like it's the end all be all of the game. In truth, sword users are the best for exploration.
What? Overload is highly ineffective. You have to run and chase after enemy. Overload scales by EM and the dmg is very low. Like 8k overload for every hit. Whereas melt/vaporize multiplies the dmg dealt and certainly higher than 8k per reaction because it multiplies the dmg dealt by 2x and 1.5x.
@@linnity68 really depends. In most floor 12 abyss, most enemies never knock back because they are all big enemies. But i will agree for smaller enemies. Only yanfei can use overload properly so far. Cause yanfei's range is so high that knocking back enemies doesnt even matter.

Keqing was my first 5 star in the early game. I started playing in july 2021 and she helped me clear the overworld faster with the starter team up until about AR 35 after I rolled for other characters. Her low investment is attractive for lower level or casual players and so is her energy recharge
This is so funny to me because i stopped playing league and moved to playing genshin more, and now Vars started making genshin content, there's nowhere for me to run from him
I can't live without her, she's the only one capable in my team to literally 100% every map. Her Elemental skill is the most useful in exploration (especially if you don't have Venti or Kazuha).
Keqing is more of a melt dps, she chips enemy's hp in a constant rate. It is true, her kind of dps relies more on "speed" and rotations. The thing is, her damage is literally "constant", if mihoyo is going to buff her, I guess give her elemental skill a buff. Wherein when she hits an enemy with the lightning stilleto, she marks them, and overtime as she deals damage to them her damage increases or the mark explodes to deal burst damage. Like it would be so good to be true but it fits her so well.
Theres a Dendro reaction that got leaked named "Intensefied" which gives an electro damage bonus (maybe 2x?) For the next 7s. And THAT will definetly boost her viability two fold, especially if we get a constant Dendro applicator.
Personally, I love her flashy gameplay, and its frusgerating for me to use her in abyss as a main dps. Although building her as a quick swap character for just pure dmg works, somewhat well.
You can bet your butt that if she becomes playable in honkai, people will love her, because during the event where they released Fischl she played great, and boy I was hyped thinking she was gonna be summonable too.
honestly i love Keqing and i built her phsyical because i found it was the best way to maximize the reduced physical res when i combo her with my ganyu. Using them as duel DPS with Mona and Bennett as supports carried me through a large amount of the game ngl
As someone who got keqing a few days ago, I really like using her! Still I did come across some problems, the biggest one being her charged attacks stamina usage and how the charged attack knocks small enemies realllyy back. Still gonna use her cuz I love her!!
You can mitigate her E downtime by doing this: Throw her E, use Q, teleport w/ her E, this way her E will come back b4 her infusion ends… do this rotation twice, after that switch her out since her crit buffs only lasts for 8s. Her main problem is that her CA knocking enemies away, the rest aren’t as much

Before I moved to PC, and before cross save was added, I actually had a Keqing. She was level 80 and had my best thundering fury artifacts on her, yet she always felt like she wasn't doing enough. I always thought it was the artifacts, but looking back on it they were mostly 5 stars besides my flower, and they had great substats for the most part. Keqing is still one of, if not my fave character in the game, regardless of her faults.
@@fedewoo6432 i didnt excpect much when i first got her when losing the 5050 on ganyu to her. the way she easily started out damaging the last character in her part of the team was astonishing. im surprised with her. shes very good for my overload reactions as i use razor and klee in the same team a lot of the time (i barely use razor's ult just his phys dmg and to apply electro) and keqing takes care of my electro application problem

I feel like they could fix Keqing by finally releasing an electro set that suits her. As of rn all she has is shimenawa and that’s kinda hard to really say suits her when it does nothing for her burst which I feel is a big part of Keqing
I'm AR 33. Keqing is my first 5 star but due to my limited resources and her peculiar playstyle I couldn't find a way to justify playing her over Beidou. After taking some time to do some research and put "good"(for my AR) artifacts on her, I fell in love with her playstyle. I've always enjoyed characters that are fast af for no reason. It just sucks seeing her so low on ratings all the time
Keqing works different then most of the others. She is the definition of a DPS, her individual hits aren't very high, but she does a lot of them. So you won't get big flashy numbers while playing her, but you will kill just as fast as any other. She was my first 5 star I got, as such I used her a lot and got the battlepass sword for her which really helped her survivability. She is a Crit Damage per AC so her weapon should be a Crit Rate weapon OR her headgear. She should have a crit rate above 60% for good results (depending on how well your other stuff rolls). She benefits greatly from Electro Damage %, not Phys, as she can keep her Skill buff running at almost all times, plus her Burst is all Electro damage so having an Hourglass with Electro damage on it is a near must for her. Set wise she is good with Berzerker, or the Electro set, provided you get the right drops (LOL). The only reason she isn't used for me anymore was I got Ganyu and got stupid good rolls on the Cryo set for her.
@@sweatymobilegamer784 I meant any other DPS you may build. Keqing can kill just as well, if not better, then some of the other "popular" mainline DPS's that people use. At launch she was compared to Diluc who was quite popular for a DPS. Since then she has fallen in popularity due to other 5 stars coming out. I myself only stopped using Keqing as a main DPS (she still leads Team 2 in Abyss) because I got some stupid good rolls on artifacts for Ganyu. Still doesn't mean that Keqing is bad, she can easily carry your team through anything you need to do in the game. Now as for efficiency of artifacts, she does need a little more investment to make her shine vs other DPS's. She can make use of the Gladiator set but really the Electro Set does her wonders. Glad set drops from a lot more places, as in all the bosses and world bosses. So while farming up mats from them you will passively be getting Glad set pieces, vs having to specifically farm the Electro set domain. Her Still can pretty much be always on with a very small window when the Electro effect isn't on. This means she does much better as an Electro damage DPS then a Physical one. Not to mention building into pure Electro makes her Skill and Burst do that much more damage, so its a win-win.

If you're messing around with any random team with him in it, against multiple targets, (probably) Kazuha carried. 3) If you're now hoping to pull Keqing solely for performance/meta, PLEASE go see a therapist. What kinda ass build is your Hu Tao on to make you even remotely consider that? If you want to continue this "discussion" (I realize that I might sound a bit unhinged), I can provide everything from detailed calculations to video evidence to my personal experience with playing Keqing. She's pretty fun. And she was my first 5-star, so I'm still using her. Would I recommend her, especially to F2P players? Fucking hell no.
@@sallyhope2137 1) If you have the primos and are thinking of using Keqing if you ever get her, I highly recommend picking up Kazuha whenever he gets a rerun if you don’t already have him. He is pretty much a must if you want to get any performance out of her. 2) Outside of quickswap teams, Keqing’s main source of damage are her CAs. If you get her, you should figure out real quick exactly what issues arise from that. She won’t feel so good when you have to jump/dash cancel after every couple CAs, wasting stamina and/or spending more time chasing after lighter enemies than actually hitting them.
From the moment I got to play her (from event or story quest, I dont remember) I immediately knew she would be amazing to play. I like the fast gameplay more than the slow but big nuke gameplay, so her being able to blink to targets and quickly smack enemies around really clicked with me. Since I dont care enough about Spiral Abyss because of its tryhard atmosphere and favor around burst instead of speed, I see no problems with her at all. But that's because I mainly just do overworld stuff and domains. She was too late to come with the party to explore, but that missed time is being made up for with the daily grind and exploring Inazuma every now and then.
She has one of the coolest talent sets, it feels like you're playing Virgil from DMC with her talents especially her burst. But other than that, Mihoyo really did her dirty.
People say his analysis of why no one plays is outdated...but the shear fact that this reaction method he mentioned is what happened makes me feel it's the exact opposite. He pointed out possible ways to improve and mihoyo used similar methods when they implemented dendro. I'm not saying he knew but it worked well enough
she needs the albedo treatment. a weapon and arti set with her name on it. Maybe something to do with multihitting attacks/skills/burst. Though that would also buff ayaka and she definitely doesn't need that.
You elaborately explained every detail and information. From utility, sustainability, effectiveness in team fight, benefits and drawbacks, and so on. Because some players could put less time and effort on reading such complex details in-game and would complain without even knowing how the mechanics work. You deserve a sub! 👍
There's something you missed about electro. It's true that electro by itself feels pale in comparison with other elements except geo. This is, as you mentioned, because of electro reaction scaling only by level and EM, unlike vape/melt that scales with attack, crit, AND EM. Keqing biggest problem is that electro have no priority in term of who's proccing what, making her rather inconsistent for reaction based team. Electro reaction itself isn't as bad as you think they're when you get to abuse them. And it's also unfortunate that she doesn't scale as hard as other carries you mentioned. Sucrose taser come to mind as the premier electro charge abuser, thanks to her anemo swirl spreading both hydro and electro so when an electro charge happened, the game registered sucrose as the one proccing it (might not be all, but most of the time, giving her the consistency over any other unit). Thanks to anemo unit often goes for EM, because of their kit told them to do so, sucrose able to capitalized on this interaction to be one of the strongest electro charge abuser if not the best abuser in the game.
Electro isnt as bad cuz the element is actually being used. Superconduct is used for eula teams, electro-charged is used for firework and taser teams and ovearload is used for Raiden national and sukokomon who uses all of those reactions, so the element Can work unlike geo that doesnt work with anything tho the biggest problem being how the reactions are rng on who will proc the reaction.
@@aquaa2272 while it is powerfull there's pretty much no teams that uses it besides Xiao and hu tao using a geo char most of the time will just hurt your team especially when the only viable combo with geo resonance is zhongli and albedo
Very well made video but I do have some issues with some parts. The best support by far is Bennett. His attack buff, cleanse and heal is so good in too many teams. Kazuha and Zhongli don't come near him. Xiangling with Bennett buff is one of the strongest DPS in the game, so I was kinda surprised you put her in support. Electro itself is not that bad. If you play Raiden hypercarry, almost a third of its damage comes from Kazuha and overload damage. Raiden-National (Raiden, Xiangling, Xingqiu and Bennett) also benefit from overload damage. Electrocharged with an anemo unit is also very strong. Sucrose, Beidou, Fischl and Xingqiu make one of the best AoE teams in the game. They don't do very big numbers but the amount of small numbers do matter. Keqings stamina cost really is something. Every sword character has 20 stamina cost charge attacks but Keqing has 25 stamina cost and repositions herself back. Keqing really deserves a buff.
Really enjoy the video! I do believe Beidou, Fischl, and Raiden beat her out in electro application though. If not faster, they are certainly more consistent. Those three units are exactly what caused me to pretty much retire my Keqing indefinitely outside of playing around with her in open world to enjoy her playstyle and mobility. I do feel like her biggest drawback is stamina consumption when relying on charged attack for damage. Until they change stamina, or add a support to the game that fortifies or recovers stamina usage, she will suffer there.
I think her Kit and base damage needed a rework. Her ulti last hit should be at the star and need and have higher damage. She was out class by damage from the start and people say that electro need to have better reactions but that will boost all electro characters making her less viable than Baal, Beidou or Fischl as DPS while they work as support. I don't know what MHY was thinking while they build her. Is like the comparative between Qiqi and Diona, while Diona give shield, heal and create particules Qiqi just heals and is as bad DPS as the other. Is like Fischl and Diona are the 5 star while Qiqi and Keqing are the 4 star.
There is a support that lowers stamina usage. One of Barbara's talents makes her E reduce stamina consumption by 12%, so she can do that for 20 out of 32s. And with the clam set, she can contribute a bit more now than previously. Of course, 12% isn't enough. Would like to see a weapon or artifact set that boosts stamina regen.
Heyo, just passing by to say two things: - Making repeated applications after the initial one still proc reactions would be incredibly broken. Take Klee's ultimate, for example: It would proc 4 vaporize reactions every time it hit. A 3 pyro + 1 hydro team (like Klee, Bennett, Xiangling and Xingqiu) would be absolutely insane. - Superconduct is also great for Eula (Eula + Lisa is a famous combo). @@hagianghoang4026 Those are the cookie cutter default electro supports for Eula. In the EulaMains subreddit, Eula + Lisa is especially loved for some reason, so that's why I mentioned it specifically. It's very famous among Eula mains, but not the most popular or most played comp/combo overall.

Keqing was my first 5star character and i still use her as my main, And i have to say that i really love her solo capabilities because you can just play the game and ignore those elemental reactions.
As a keqing main, the only thing holdong her back is that she is electro. Maybe dendro+electro reaction could save her but the strong slash is at the end of her burst thus making it harder to get higher damage numbers.

... and even now... with a C4 Keqing, C4 Jean, C3 Diluc and C6 QiQi... I finally managed to get a C1 Mona during Raiden's banner and i'm a day one player who WHALED in the beginning for Mona and never got her. I only got my first Mona past the halfway point of the first year of the game.

The cool part about Keqing's burst as well is that it actually has a lag between the last few hits and when she actually rematerializes. That means you can recast her skill before the final hit and continue to streamline electro energy almost perpetually depending on your EM. Super fun

@@dumbassidot if it’s your first 5 star then use the *Lion’s Roar with 4 pc Thundering Fury or 2Pc Glad/shim + 2Pc thundering fury for Main DPS* but *for your Sub just replace Gladiators to Noblesse* and focus on all the three talents
Overall the Lion’s Roar is one of the best weapons for a 4* Electro Keqing because of the ATK% and the refinement stat is real good when you focus on electro *but if you’re talking about psychical Keqing then 2Pc Pale Flame & Bloodstained with Prototype Rancour is the best setup but if you have the Aquila Favonia use that for any Kind of Keqing you make*

With the introduction of the new Dendro element Keqing has gotten a huge buff since now she can be used as a driver for Fishels assentation 4 passive because of her high electro application and aggravate not having as much ICD as the other reactions. I think you should make a video discussing how Keqing and other electro characters benefit from this.
not only that, the fact that she trigger aggravate make her able to bennefit TF set, get her E faster and don't run out of stamina, because more E+more Q= less charge attack
I feel really sad for Keqing. She's super fun. Electro in general has high dmg multipliers, but for some reason, Keqing doesn't. She should have dmg multipliers that match the likes of Beidou at least (in overall dmg, not necessarily one hit like the counter since it's a skill based mechanic). On Beidou's note - awesome character. I'm still gutted that she's intentionally nerfed from having Raiden Shogun as her driver.

the fact that in keqing comps not running beidou with her can be considered a grief. beidou deals so much its crazy. she deserves the serpent that i bought.
I think if and when they release Keqing's signature weapon, the one she's holding on her Gacha card, and that one has something like "After dealing electro damage with your elemental skill, your charged attacks consume no stamina over the next 7 seconds" and has either a CR or CD substat it could literally fix her completely, something extremely niche to make her extremely good, something like what the cinnabar spindle is for albedo.
The solution shouldn’t have to be “have a gacha sword that is so powerful on keqing and no one else that gets rid of all her caveats just to make her balanced sword” is a good idea for balancing. I really want keqing to be good but that just doesn’t sound like the best way to do it

It's not common to do in gacha games because there are countries that have laws that prevent companies from nerfing stuff in gacha games. If they overbuff something by mistake, it's stuck.

I really want Keqing, she sounds so fun to play with! I'm not great at games like this, I don't fully understand the mechanics or elemental reactions so I would never even notice her weaknesses. I don't choose my parties based on their compatibility, I just pick based on who I like the most. So I think I'd love her, I really hope I'll pull her one day!
update: lost my 50/50 for zhongli and got her instead :') i guess i was still lucky a little because even though i lost, she was the standard banner 5* that i wanted the most and she's fun to play with, she just keeps dying because she came home instead of a certain archon💀)

I love her. She's beautiful, fun and has very fast charging AoE special attack, and near constant elemental damage potential. BUT. Got her around the time when finally promoting my former main electro (well luck) DPS through his final ascension and getting Prototype Archaic to R4. Artifacts for her are very hard to farm and by the time I finished my formerly meh Razor was doing much better numbers than her, a while more he even got some constellations and it increased further. Keqing is great if you have her from the start, but from all 5 star I got since she forever does the least damage and can only contribute when she's on the field.

Reactions are easy. Apply one element and then another for a reaction.
If you look at the detailed stats section. It’ll tell you the reaction strengths of each reaction in elemental mastery.

Electro has a lot of identity issues, it wants to be offensive but lacks the reaction dmg, has negative suportive effects like knockback plus its ressonance is supportive but selfish. And the big issue is that buffing their reactions is very troublesome cause most Electro characters have high base multipliers to compensate for the lack of good reactions, so changing them could overtune it. Dendro's potential reaction is the only saving grace for Electro as an element.
Geo is also counting on dendro and see if they actually get a good elemental reaction because geo also suffers the most when it comes to elemental reaction in abyss
Its identity is energy-based and it's focus in teams is transformative reactions that stagger and battery.
It's resonance is underwhelming because it gives so little energy but looking at most electro characters kit with the exception of....Beidou....
We have Fischl who can battery herself and other characters while providing enough electro for superconduct and other reactions.
Raiden who literally refunds energy
Electro MC who battery's other characters
Even Keqing increases her own ER%
Beidou is the one electro character with ER% problems
What I think they should do is make it such that electro resonance gives way more ER%...like at least 25%ER? Well if pyro can give 25% attack for all party members I don't understand why Electro can't increase the ER of all party members...even Geo resonance gets this right.

He was close to useless when he came out, but after cn drama over Zhongli, he became the best utility character in the game, because there is basically no counterplay that game can offer right now. Im a Keqing main and i wholeheartedly agree with you, her damage output could be waayy more bigger than it is right now if mihoyo buffed electro and its reactions and made one of her constellations remove her stamina intake when using charged attack at her electro mode
or make her like Klee where her charge attack consumes not stamina but some "nodes" that she got after (maybe) using her skill or finishing a combo attack.
mihoyo will never buff characters that wont bring them money. all we can hope for is an electro buff. but even then still, nobody will use keqing in abyss since other electros also gets stronger.

Actually, one reaction that somewhat requires ICD to actually function is Electrocharge, and why that reaction is the most used among them, as the longer the ICD, the longer the reaction last.
However, to apply it is the problem. The ones who are usually used to trigger it are mostly Hydro characters, and only Raiden can apply steady EC, but you sacrifice a lot of her damage just for that.

I fell in love with her when Genshin was first released and I was looking up videos of all the current characters. She stood out to me the most.
1. She's electric element
2. She does a teleport blink
3. auto animations are **chef's kiss**
4. Her burst is my favorite type of combat ability (characters who are so fast they blink and slash everywhere) she's basically a ninja
5. Her design is cute asf
I just love her because I got her on my first few pulls on acquiant, and she has carried me throught the game. Haven't taken her off my team, and I never will.

I started playing Genshin because I saw a video of Keqing soloing Andrius and thought, “Holy crap, that looks fun as heck!”
I then decided to pull on the general banner until I got a copy of her.
Well, ~$2,000 later, I finally got her. And she carried me through everything. She was the core of my Abyss teams when I started 36-starring it back in January, and while I have since moved on to new characters (just for novelty), she still gets first pick of artifacts and weapons. I have C6 Ayaka, but I keep Mistsplitter on Keqing. It’s *her* signature weapon.
If somebody can’t beat content with Keqing, the problem isn’t Keqing.

One minor thing you did miss is that her E has minor traversal benefits. I used her a lot before I got Venti to help gain some extra height for tricky jumps or climbs.
That one world quest at... Tianqiu Valley with the 3 towers had us climb one of them in a time limit right? Geo traveler and Keqing made me finish that trial so fast lmao

There are quite a few characters who do just specialize in the Overworld more so. Between getting Anemoculus, Geoculus, taking out certain hordes in camps... Keqing does it all. It's only when Timed content comes in that she just shows her weakness. Which in itself is not bad game design but when timed content is overly used (Abyss, Trials, some events) a lot of unique units just lose.
I use Keqing in the outworld. I dont have venti so her elem skill makes traversing and climbing a lil bit easier, and more precise as compared to albedo's elevator
Then there's me, putting Ventis skill on top of Zhonglis dong, and lifting myself even further with Kazuha. LOL mountain who????

Honestly the teleport with her E is so unique I just wished it helped more with her fighting style. Paralyzing a Ruin Guard by teleporting up to his face is so satisfying. And is it just me or does her burst have more reach than other characters with AOE damage?

Her ult is probably the same range as benny ult, hutao ult, child melee ult etc... But the reason her ult feel more wider maybe because enemies can still run into Keqing's ult and getting hit while the ult is still performing.
Side note: Keqing is probably have the longest ult animation in the game currently, I think.
Also another note: I feel like the aoe of ult only have 3 types. Large aoe like Ganyu, medium like Benny, small like most of the 4 stars I think. And then there's projectile like Ningguang.

Keqing was my first 5 star and that's why I still use her after almost a year. And at c0 she is good... until you get to floor 11 and 12. Even with Kazuha, Raiden and Bennet in her team she just doesn't get to the double geo vape c0 Hu Tao I have in my first team. She does a lot of damage but not enough and for a shorter amount of time. I like everything about her but I had to overinvest into her by giving her a battle pass weapon. lvl up to 90 and geting her talents to 9-6-9 and still she underperforms.

I actually find it easier to use my Keqing over hu Tao and even ganyu where I run childe vape and Keqing respectively for each side. Raiden isn’t as compatible cuz she demands time that is being shared with Keqing leaving a duel dps that loses dps overall. I use c6 Sara and zhongli instead and i 36 starred spiral abyss using Keqing even for floor 11 and 12
Same, I used to be a keqing main until I reached floor 12, I could not complete the floor at all with Bennett kazuha and xingqui team. She’s c1 and I’ve Hyper invested into her (she does 7k per slash in her ult and 25k E) but I still could not clear the floor on time

So I got a c6 Diluc who's my main DPS at the moment, teamed up with Mona-Lisa and Jean. And that's basically my main team outside of Abyss. (sometimes, I use Fischl instead of Lisa)

As a Keqing main, I think you hit the nail on the head. She is, at the moment, an amazing unit on paper that has a lot of flaws, and as you said, unfortunately, the bad currently outweigh the good. Despite this, I've dedicated a ton of time and tons of resources to her, having triple crowned her as well as giving her Mistsplitter Reforged, her BiS. While her damage isn't nearly as high as my Ganyu's, with high investment, Keqing is still usable in Abyss 12, and I've achieved 9 stars on floor 12 numerous times myself with her by my side. Still hoping they give her a well deserved buff in the future!
From what little rumours of the beta before release that I heard, Keqing was the last of the characters released for the beta. Back then, EM used to buffed elemental attacks by 1.2x dmg on top of reactions and superconduct reduced defense instead of phys resistance. This made Keqing a beast that even xiao, the most popular beta character at that point can't even hold a candle to her.
Apparently, she broke the game and mihoyo was forced to nerf EM and superconduct. At that point, there's little to no time to rework Keqing and rather than working on her and delaying the game, mihoyo decided to keep it on schedule and made Keqing a standard *5.
It's a rumour but with how weird her kit is compared to how the battle calculations work and her constellation on top of that, I can see the possibility of the rumours.
But at the end of the day, I love her.

1.1. Personally my main is Keqing and Amber, and I love them even if they're not meta
2.1. Meta-wise, Mona is a great buffer and a good hydro applicator
2.2. Meta-wise, Sayu is neither bad nor amazing U-U She's anemo and a healer and her burst has a big range and heals and does dmg at the same time (at c2)
2.3. Keqing is super flexible and does not require a lot of effort - you can build her physical, electro, or em-focused
4. You said you were new, so there's no need to rush. You'll eventually get more characters, and considering Keqing and Mona are both on standard banner the chance to get them is higher than an exclusive character.

Also got a c2 Barbara, c1 sucrose and a c1 xiangling sitting in the bench.
@@aakashkori6483 Nice, diluc is the only original 5* worth using, his aoe dmg is still unmatched by any pyro dps, his simplistic gameplay makes him easier to use than others and is able to clear the abyss 12 , not amazing but good enough.

Honestly, people do use her a lot in the overworld since she's fun and most like her... They just don't play her in competitive places like Abyss and you don't see her so much due to her being the permanent 5*.
+ there is no competitive aspects at all in genshin. No leaderboards, no bad units, no pvp, nothing. So the video is really just pointless.

People enjoy characters due to many reasons, but some of them include how strong they are. We don't need broken characters, but if No One is playing these characters, something is really wrong with their lore or gameplay. Amber had amazing lore but horrible gameplay. Keqing has great lore but bad gameplay. Hence No One uses them. This series aims to show why exactly they feel bad to play (again, one of the aspects is not being able to deal that much damage)
@@byeguyssry Dude first of all it isn't true that no one uses keqing, and saying that she has a bad gameplay is really dumb. She is the most fun you can have in genshin after Kazhua and can utilize ALL the movement mechanics in the game. And , for 99% of the players she is more than enough to destroy everything there is in the game, the only part of the players that don't use her are the whales in the Speedrun community, and dumb "meta" players that would rather spent 2 second charging a shot and do nothing else besides that that playing an actually fun character.

Furthermore... I mean, I have Ganyu C1 and Hu Tao C1, still can't 36-star the Spiral Abyss (only 35), which is unsatisfactory for some. Furthermore, I do not understand why you put "meta" in quotation marks (it's an actual word), why you call then dumb (it's a playstyle; for example in card games I like to play meme decks instead of good ones) and why you feel that Ganyu isn't fun. I love her playstyle because I can't use her with Zhongli (he's with Tao) and it tests my aiming skills, reflexes, and risk assessment (ie. Whether I ought to dodge or pray that I'll freeze the enemy before that). In contrast, Keqing is literally just spam CA... (don't attack me in truth I actually love her I rerolled for her)
It's a bit of a shame that she's lacking a true damage-enhancing elemental reaction. Overloaded is still a janky reaction for melee characters to consistently utilize, and electrocharged works well in very big groups, but is a little too unimpactful with fewer enemies. They designed her skills to be very tactile and mobile, she feels really good to control and is probably the best character in the game in terms of combat mobility options with her stiletto, her final hit in her melee combo, her charged attack pushing her backwards, and her burst s, all of which can be chained seamlessly. I completely understand why she has die-hard fans, and she's perfectly usable in all content, but her kit is a victim of circumstance in that she has to compete with characters that can do 20x the damage she can because of the elemental reaction system and how crits work.
Overloaded only works well with large enemies, since smaller ones tend to get launched away (making you waste time and energy chasing after them). Electrocharged is better with more enemies since the damage procs faster, but the damage itself is quite low. Superconduct is more of a supportive reaction like swirl and crystallize, plus the benefits are going to decrease the more constellations Keqing has (her constellations focus entirely on Electro Keqing)
Water and electro work really well together. I main Keqing and I finally got Mona and she helps really well. Esp in superconduct.

Keqing fits my playstyle as my main dps.
At first I wasn’t much interested in Keqing. However, after meeting her in the story and then when I finally got her early this year, I replaced whoever was my main(I believe to be Lumine)for her, and began to build her. She has not left since. Absolutely love her not just for play style but in general.

As a Keqing main, I'm glad I watched this vid. I was always a bit confused on why Keqing was considered one of the worst 5 stars (other than Electro being total ass and there being some truly way more op DPSs) but this vid helped show me. Especially the point on how multiple chain attacks are so much worse for reactions than a big singular burst attack.
I hope someday they actually buff her alongside some other characters that could use it. But I have strong doubts they're gonna buff such old characters at this point.
And besides, I'm still gonna use her, cause damn she's still the most fun character in the game to me.

2023... YAE burst can fail. and yes she does it. Raiden with 1 hit can fail und 50k dmg for nothing. Keqing can do the same dmg. but Keqing does it with ALL enemies in her area and not only 1 enemie who runs away and you fail. i dont understand that point. Keqing ist still OP her own way. If she is good built. Idk what Cyno can do. dont have him. Raiden is good, YAE is perfect and Keqing ist still all of them + waifu love. i dont have Keqing on my main acc but i dont want any charakter so hard to get as Keqing

Honestly, when I first got Keqing as my very first 5 star (Even though I really wanted a Diluc and I was jealous that everyone else got a Diluc when the game came out), she really does a lot to carry me throughout Liyue to Inazuma. Until, I kind of replaced her with Raiden Shogun. She still holds a lot in my good memories of Genshin character performances. She becomes even more of an asset to my team when after doing her burst, you can actually control her before her burst ends and do additional damage, whether it is to pop another e skill or just spam her auto attacks.
I got Diluc as my first 5*. I'm new to genshin.. 2 months in or a bit longer. Out of the five 5*'s you can get if you lose the 50/50 or on the regular banner, I have Diluc and Jean. Getting Mona would be great. Or Keqing or even Qiqi. Keqing I really like her design. For over world the game is easy enough just to play characters you like. Diluc's gameplay can get kind of repetitive imo. His best reaction is vaporize and melt not changing your party up or trying different things can get boring.

keqing in my opinion is one of the best, she’s fun to play, beautiful aesthetic and burst, easy to build as physical or electro dps, easy exploration with her teleporting and she works with craftable weapons as well, it’s just my opinion

Versatility is her best asset and also her downfall, Jack of (almost) all trade but master of none. good in exploration (a freaking teleport duhh), fast, deals damage consistently, flexible between elemental and physical damage build, reliable on field electro applier, doesn't need healer to an extent, and a tsundere! She's the perfect first 5 star to start your game. But that's it, for every point she's good in there are better FOCUSED alternative. A cheap mall that has just about everything but you would rather visit various shop that each expertise on their respective trade, just an analogy. She still best waifu tho.

Keqing is one of my stand-out party members in the overworld. She's amazingly fast, especially with a speed-boosting sword, she recharges quickly, and her cooldown times are pretty low. Near water or in the rain, she's devastating due to electrocharge, and in combination with either of Xiangling's elemental attacks, I can get her ultimate to fire and produce the overloads I need to take down most of the bosses almost effortlessly. I don't spend a lot of time in the Spiral Abyss yet because I'm still trying to get all of my characters, talents, weapons, and artifacts leveled up, so I have just been enjoying her genuine utility. Thanks to her lightning stilettos, she's even good at helping me reach enemies that suddenly hover out of reach.

I LOVE Keqing, she's one of the most fun characters to play, even if she can't compare to others. Her speed and skills bring so much more.... like, actual gameplay into a fight compared to a burst swapping build. Burst swapping can get super boring, if i'm honest. Also units like Xiao, for example. I find him so boring, unfortunately! :,( I'm never bored with Keqing. Also top tier world exploration lol, I can always use her e skill to get to hard to reach places!

Have you tried burst swap on a Raiden comp? It’s very fun! I use Raiden, keqing, Kazuha and Bennett. Fastest abyss clears I’ve had yet.

I'm surprised by this, tbh. I'm relatively new to GI, and Keqing was the first (and currently only) 5-star character I've gotten. I find that she *excels* at dps. Especially in Inazuma, where there's so much shoreline and enemies clustered near water sources; her ult *demolishes* in water.

Most comparisons of how good a character is focus more on the system of abyss, since you can really run anyone out in the overworld.
She is fun, but the instant you start trying to min/max, she just doesnt have a leg to stand on. Vaporize, melt, and swirl just outclass electro options as of this point.
As mentioned in the video, electro is just too weak reactionwise.

The reason is because most youtube genshin impact creators focus on spiral abyss, they rate characters on how they perform there, for example i use diluc in the world, where he excels, but in the abyss he's average, so most genshin impact youtubers will call him trash

I use Keqing with Chongyun and Xingqiu. Practically perma-freeze, enemies stay in place when using her charge attack and she can use Blizzard strayer. Would recommend!!

Might be better if you built her physical instead of being a cryo herself. I recommend teaming her w xingqiu, dionna, and rosaria (if c6 rosaria, the better).
I was thinking the exact same thing! Take away the useless C2 that gives her energy particles for an already very low burst cost and replace it with giving her 0 energy cost on her charged attacks for a certain duration after using her Burst. (Or heck even her Elemental Skill if we want to make her even more viable!) That simple change would go a long way in helping her feel more like a 5* DPS.

Absolutely. Since I got C2 she usually has her Q recharged before the animation ends. Knockback is still a problem, though. Look at Ayaka, has a stamina management option at C0 AND her CA doesnt have knockback. Stronger element, also an infuser, closes distance fast, stupid strong multihit Q (but with the benefit of freeze so the last hit doesn't miss), most sustained damage comes from CA. She's like a total upgrade to Keqing except she can't teleport.
keqing main, she was my first 5* and I committed to her.
Being able to run her with a physical build was great the first 8 months i was playing until I was able to really start figuring out elemental reactions with other character.
I... I have her at c5; I've gotten super lucky because I only mangaged to pull her once on her banner.
And I have the max mistsplitter and triple crowned...
With c6 Beidou, who she is able to drive with her quick attacks and beidou's electro shred coupled with anemo VV 4pc set is so good ESPECIALLY because electro charged is insane.
And her teleport during her combo? It's enough I-frames to get by with after enough time playing her to learn the timing.
Overworld with her teleport cannot be stressed enough; ESPECIALLY the first year, with no venti or kazuha to help with vertical wall scaling.

I rerolled a new acc Expecting a 5 star , nothing happened Until my like 17th pull or so and got keqing. And Within next 10 pulls I got a diluc. I played around with Both and The Game content Became way easier than it was before. Diluc got a WGS So he became main dps in abyss while I use keqing for just Playing around and Exploration. I honestly wanted her at her best and I actually Ended up Getting Mistsplitter and She's Rn triple Crowned. I didn't do much research on her Capability Increase like u Did But I still love her as a character and My first Five Star.(currently on a break from Genshin cus F2P and bored)

Keqing is easily one of the most fun characters and EASILY one of the best overworld DPS.
But that is the issue; overworld. She is god-tier for exploration and camp clearing, but is barely worth anything in abyss. Its why she was universally seen as S tier during the first month, when abyss was pathetically easy and most play time was exploration.
It feels frustrating to have electro done dirty like that, given that it fields a lot of characters I personally like. Vars, would you maybe be interested in making a video where you talk about all electro characters and the problems they share, providing solutions on how they could be fixed or made more viable? Or one where you give ideas on how to make all elements more balanced in relation to each other? Don't know, either could be pretty interesting to hear from you.
Fyi the only bad electro char is keqing and probably lisa, but lisa can bring ttds and give defence reduction. fischl is an amazing off field support giving constant electro and dealing great amount of damage, beidou is ONE OF THE GREATEST damage dealer in the game if you got her c2. Electro MC is a good support that can battery the team, Raiden Shogun is one of the best burst support in the game and a good main DPS. You can check videos on the characters i mentioned and if you realize their true potential, they could carry you in abyss.
I use an electro charge team which Xinqiu/fischl/kokomi/beidou or swap xinqiu to suqrose depending on the second party and they can clear abyss 12 in under 1 minute 30 second. People underestimate electro TOO MUCH

Edit 2 : i forgot about razor since hes a physical main DPS. Hes also a good main DPS character and the fact that HE IS ELECTRO make him a better character because he need superconduct LIKE EVERY OTHER PHYSICAL DPS.

He didn't mention the battery part of its current identity, or if he did it was very brief, but in no way does this video misinform its audience by saying electro is perfectly fine as is. People are seeing that some electro characters are good, such as Raiden, Beidou, and Fischl, but they're not good because of their element and (most) people know that.
And even if it did, the vast majority of the playerbase is aware that Electro as an element has its problems that need fixed. Well, vast majority outside of some people like Space Frog who really think it's fine as it is.

Love playing Keqing as she's my best speed damage dealer. Got a Primordial Jade cutter which helps her out. My biggest disappointment with her is that her overworld passive is the exploration timer buff. seems like a 5* character shouldn't have that one. Something regarding crafting boosts or experience boosts would be so much more on brand.
If I remember correctly, currently the characters that has exploration passive talent are most from 4* characters (Fischl, Bennett and Chongyun)

im a keqing main and personally i love playing with her shes so fun to use. i dont understand a lot of the technical side of genshin but using her with support characters that boost her element really makes combat fast paced and easy. i was so excited when i got diluc but i find he is really slow and not being able to 'teleport' across the map like you can with keqing is just tricky. i dont know where id be without her
I'm a Keqing main from day one and I agree with everything said. I just wish Mihoyo would love her as much as we do. #fixkeqing
I love Keqing. She was my first 5 star, and I got her within my first ever pulls in the game ever. I just started playing the game for a mere 24 hours and I did a single pull, and I got her. She now has Jade Cutter. :]
Points I like to highlights:
- 5* > 4* in gacha isn't necessarly true. I have seen countless 4* stomping 5* in FGO for instance. And it's true as well in Genshin Impact: 4* Bennett is argually the most broken character in the game even compared to 5* support like Kazuha. 4* Barbara is better than 5* Qiqi because her kit is just better. The only thing 5* are guaranteed to have over 4* is more raw stats but that's all.
- Triggering electro reactions on weaker hits doesn't matter electro charge is DoT style effect and doesn't amplify the trigger hit. Moreover amp reactions on a single big hit aren't the be all and all of the game. Ayaka strongest burst in the game and her Burst mod is quite similar to Keqing's Burst with a lot of multiple small hits than a sighly more powerful final hit. What Keqing lacks in that departement is just raw number. Her burst has weak damage and act more as a support tool for herself than anything else.
- Buffing electro and turning it into an amp reaction based element like what the community want isn't a good idea. It would overbuff electro characters that are already scaled accordingly. If Keqing wasn't held back by stamina consumption issue, she would be at least on vape Diluc level.

@@kunkker77 Some people just consider that anything that isn't meant to remain on-field to do damage is support. And what they call "main dps" are unit like Diluc or Keqing: characters with a lot of staying power.
Personally I find this classification inaccurate for many reasons.
I perfer to devide units between on-field carries, off-field carries, on-field support and off-field support.
For me depending on how you play Xiangling she can be either an off-field carry (in a "national" setup) or an off-field support (for reverse Ganyu).
bennett is only considered better than kazuha because he is more accessible and can heal. kazuha has great CC and 100% buff uptime unlike bennett.
keqing can be vape diluc level or better with the correct supports, namely kazuha and C6 sara. and her burst isnt just a support tool, it's a big percentage of her AoE damage.

Sure in pratice once overbuffed pretty much anything can slap. But proportionally speaking Keqing Burst doesn't represent the major part of her damage. You realise that Keqing just need 2 N1C to dealt about as much damage as her burst and within her burst window she can definetly fit more than just 2 N1C combos (btw you also used 1 E to dealt AoE damage that about 33% of the AoE damage dealt by Keqing).
Keqing was my first 5 star and was my main for most of the early game. She has a special place in my heart ☺
what this game made me believe is that keqing actually loves the low damage output:
she is a combo character, looks to be cool, not deal high damage and in that aspect, no one even comes close to her throne
she has an option for almost every single enemy in the game as long as electro works againts
-poke the enemy from far away with pin and charge attack
-destroy geo shields with plunge attack by aim the pin the air , dash to it and glide
-push enemies to your pin with your combo and end it with a charge attack near your pin explosion
i dont use her to see "big number go brrr" i have ayaka and mona for that...
i love keqing cause it just makes me think while fighting a tought enemy "how should i dance on his funeral ?"
the 2 closest characters that comes close to her gameplay is xiao and eula
the problem however, xiao is a pogostick and nothing else and eula is a nuke
so yeah, she has the throne of having the most complicated skill expression kit in the entire game and by a landslide
Most tricky to use when you want to maximize what she has.
I love Keqing and how you need to get creative to maximize her, but there is another 5* that also has this aspect and is much more viable. Jean is a far superior "think while fighting unit"

I only started playing a few months ago and Keqing was my first 5* as well. (My only other one being Tartaglia that I just got). I think you stated it really well in that she feels incredibly fluid and cool to play, but is held back by a series of compounding issues.
I am in the camp that would like to see the Electro resonance and reactions get buffed to suit a role. If it wants to stay in the vein of a utility focus, that's fine but the behavior of the effects should suit that intent. The resonance could be a more general battery effect and the reactions should probably have less glaring anti-synergy or inconsistencies. I think Raiden, Sara, and even Electro Traveler are units that demonstrate how Electro can be used as an aggressive semi-support element and I hope that we see some positive changes which reflect that mentality in the future.
She was my first 5 star unit that I got. My friends told me that she is bad, but i really love her, because of her fluidity. I love that i can do small trix like 4 aa then a charged attack . I hope she will get more attention in the future. :)

Keqing is my first 5 star and she's my second dps it's just she doesn't have dmg multiplayer like any electro but if you build her right she's pretty strong I use her at abbys all the time man I hitted 50k with keqing she's very fun to play ofcourse all characters are fun to play with. But mostly all of my 5 star characters are support.
I also quite like Keqing, but I'm surprised that in your discussion of her charged attacks you didn't mention that unlike other sword users, her charged attack makes her *backstep* so that even if the enemy is stationary, you still have to dash to avoid getting out of range of your own strikes.

That's true but you can actually cancel the backstep animation if you time it well with a dash. Tho, you could argue with me on this one that by doing so it makes her use more stamina which is true + it's not that easy to time it and sometimes you'll mess up and do 0 damage. I just learned about this maybe a few weeks ago and I'm trying to use it in practice bad man...once you get used to a certain way to play some character it's so hard to suddenly change it. Does anyone of you guys also cancel the 5th attack animation and do a charged attack instead?? I'm doing it on autopilot now even tho I'm missing on that final hit that does like what 100% something damage? The way I try to do it now is do a full 5 hit then a charged attack in the back after she dashes through the enemy. I wish the defense was weaker when striking the opponents in the back...
Anyway...I don't watch a lot of genshin "how to play" videos (just the once about puzzles, LOL) but this one really got my attention and I think I'll watch more of these in the future! Great job man. As u can probably guess I'm a BIG Keqing fan myself (gotta change the way I pronounce her name in my head now as well) and I hope she gets some love in the games future.
I got Keqing one year ago, right after her first appearence in the game. I was happy because I loved her character in the story. I've been using her time to time while exploring the world and I still love her. She's the most precious to me along with Klee and Albedo. Even though I'm a meta player, I think that Keqing is okay and not every character has to be a great DPS. I'm sure that there are a lot of people like me.
I can never comprehend these mechanics well enough to actually apply them right, but I personally like Keqing because, well, she can *teleport*. What more do you want? If you aim her skill in the air, you can do plunging attacks. If you aim it away from an enemy, it could help you dodge what might be a devastating blow. She can get you into areas faster than climbing or running. Also, as someone who prefers prolonged damage over outright one shots, Keqing is really fun to do damage with.
Taking ur time for aiming and plunging is just a huge dps loss... Yes it could be used for dodging but not in the way you explained. Again taking aim and placing ur stellar and dodging before the enemy dmgs you is too ambitious. Not saying she is trash, she my main dps and will be until the very end. Still hoping Mihoyo brings changes and makes her or the reactions stronger, cuz she has a lot of potential.

Electro keqing is, funnily enough, 10 times worse than a fully build physical damage keqing.
Phys dmg keqing with the 5* phys sword + bloodstained on charged attack spam outdamages ANY electro keqing. Her CA multipliers are exceptional for physical, but dogshit for conversion to electro.
Conversion dmg SUCKS so hard.
@@tarun3661 honestly, that situation has a pretty simple solution, but most ppl probably won't use it because it involves amber. Baron bunny has saved my life many times by distracting the enemies, giving me an opening to fire fully charged arrows in the middle of a swarm of monsters. If it buys me that much time, then it can get me enough time to aim Keqings skill where I want it to go
@@brosephstinson1297 When properly optimized, electro Keqing handily beats physical builds. Physical Keqing is a valuable option if Keqing is your most invested carry, for situations where electro isn’t viable, but electro will deal significantly more damage in most situations.
Not even sure what you’re trying to say about her electro infusion. Her CA scaling is exactly the same, the only difference is the damage type. Physical can benefit from superconduct, but not from VV shred, Kazuha’s elemental damage buff, the Mistsplitter’s passive (which is her best-in-slot weapon by a significant margin), or any of her constellations. Physical Keqing was mostly a product of there being no good weapons available for electro builds, but Mistsplitter ended that era.
It’s one thing to acknowledge a character’s flaws, but quite another to exaggerate them to the point of absurdity. Keqing is a completely viable carry, I used her when I first started 36-starring Abyss back in January, and she still handles it quite effectively. You can find videos of players soloing 9-star floor 12 clears with Keqing for every Abyss configuration (that doesn’t involve Abyss Heralds).

With the same stats, on an enemy with the same resistance against physical / elemental damage.
The physical damage will always be higher.
There is a hidden debuff on infusions, its obvious especially on Ayaka you can see that hardcore.
Mihoyo just doesn't show that, but infused attacks CLEARLY have a damage nerf in exchange for the element infused.
Keqing is the best for exploration. The main reason for that is her elemental skill for reaching difficult to reach locations and climbing. She does well as a physical damage dealer for when you run up against opposing party elements and yes her burst gives her a nice length of invincibility if you are stuck. I combine her with Noelle to make a solid long exploration team that doesn't require food or statue visits.
Of course none of this matters in the Spiral Abyss so hardcore players who brag about character stats don't recognize this as traits worthy of mentioning.
Yeah i mainly use her for daily’s and exploration thats facts. Also a lead in my B team abyss but struggle.
Yeahhhhh, spiral abyss just is so meta n I hate when ppl brag about it like it's the end all be all of the game.
In truth, sword users are the best for exploration.

What? Overload is highly ineffective. You have to run and chase after enemy.
Overload scales by EM and the dmg is very low. Like 8k overload for every hit.
Whereas melt/vaporize multiplies the dmg dealt and certainly higher than 8k per reaction because it multiplies the dmg dealt by 2x and 1.5x.
@@linnity68 really depends. In most floor 12 abyss, most enemies never knock back because they are all big enemies. But i will agree for smaller enemies. Only yanfei can use overload properly so far. Cause yanfei's range is so high that knocking back enemies doesnt even matter.

Keqing was my first 5 star in the early game. I started playing in july 2021 and she helped me clear the overworld faster with the starter team up until about AR 35 after I rolled for other characters. Her low investment is attractive for lower level or casual players and so is her energy recharge
This is so funny to me because i stopped playing league and moved to playing genshin more, and now Vars started making genshin content, there's nowhere for me to run from him
I can't live without her, she's the only one capable in my team to literally 100% every map. Her Elemental skill is the most useful in exploration (especially if you don't have Venti or Kazuha).

Keqing is more of a melt dps, she chips enemy's hp in a constant rate. It is true, her kind of dps relies more on "speed" and rotations. The thing is, her damage is literally "constant", if mihoyo is going to buff her, I guess give her elemental skill a buff. Wherein when she hits an enemy with the lightning stilleto, she marks them, and overtime as she deals damage to them her damage increases or the mark explodes to deal burst damage. Like it would be so good to be true but it fits her so well.
Gambler’s set + keqing = thicccc damage
They won't buff her, if they do she'll overshine mihoyos current favourite, top selling character of raiden shogun. And they won't like that
Theres a Dendro reaction that got leaked named "Intensefied" which gives an electro damage bonus (maybe 2x?) For the next 7s. And THAT will definetly boost her viability two fold, especially if we get a constant Dendro applicator.
Personally, I love her flashy gameplay, and its frusgerating for me to use her in abyss as a main dps. Although building her as a quick swap character for just pure dmg works, somewhat well.
You can bet your butt that if she becomes playable in honkai, people will love her, because during the event where they released Fischl she played great, and boy I was hyped thinking she was gonna be summonable too.
As a fellow honkai player who also experienced the collab, I affirm this. She went from meme tier to the second coming of vergil real quick.

honestly i love Keqing and i built her phsyical because i found it was the best way to maximize the reduced physical res when i combo her with my ganyu. Using them as duel DPS with Mona and Bennett as supports carried me through a large amount of the game ngl
Physical Keqing can be insanely strong and one of the best physical units in the game, her charged attack scales so well with physical multipliers

I really like using her! Still I did come across some problems,
the biggest one being her charged attacks stamina usage and how the charged attack knocks small enemies realllyy back. Still gonna use her cuz I love her!!
You can mitigate her E downtime by doing this:
Throw her E, use Q, teleport w/ her E, this way her E will come back b4 her infusion ends… do this rotation twice, after that switch her out since her crit buffs only lasts for 8s. Her main problem is that her CA knocking enemies away, the rest aren’t as much

Before I moved to PC, and before cross save was added, I actually had a Keqing. She was level 80 and had my best thundering fury artifacts on her, yet she always felt like she wasn't doing enough. I always thought it was the artifacts, but looking back on it they were mostly 5 stars besides my flower, and they had great substats for the most part. Keqing is still one of, if not my fave character in the game, regardless of her faults.

@@fedewoo6432 i didnt excpect much when i first got her when losing the 5050 on ganyu to her. the way she easily started out damaging the last character in her part of the team was astonishing. im surprised with her. shes very good for my overload reactions as i use razor and klee in the same team a lot of the time (i barely use razor's ult just his phys dmg and to apply electro) and keqing takes care of my electro application problem

I feel like they could fix Keqing by finally releasing an electro set that suits her. As of rn all she has is shimenawa and that’s kinda hard to really say suits her when it does nothing for her burst which I feel is a big part of Keqing
I'm AR 33. Keqing is my first 5 star but due to my limited resources and her peculiar playstyle I couldn't find a way to justify playing her over Beidou. After taking some time to do some research and put "good"(for my AR) artifacts on her, I fell in love with her playstyle. I've always enjoyed characters that are fast af for no reason. It just sucks seeing her so low on ratings all the time
Keqing works different then most of the others. She is the definition of a DPS, her individual hits aren't very high, but she does a lot of them. So you won't get big flashy numbers while playing her, but you will kill just as fast as any other. She was my first 5 star I got, as such I used her a lot and got the battlepass sword for her which really helped her survivability. She is a Crit Damage per AC so her weapon should be a Crit Rate weapon OR her headgear. She should have a crit rate above 60% for good results (depending on how well your other stuff rolls). She benefits greatly from Electro Damage %, not Phys, as she can keep her Skill buff running at almost all times, plus her Burst is all Electro damage so having an Hourglass with Electro damage on it is a near must for her. Set wise she is good with Berzerker, or the Electro set, provided you get the right drops (LOL). The only reason she isn't used for me anymore was I got Ganyu and got stupid good rolls on the Cryo set for her.

@@sweatymobilegamer784 I meant any other DPS you may build. Keqing can kill just as well, if not better, then some of the other "popular" mainline DPS's that people use. At launch she was compared to Diluc who was quite popular for a DPS. Since then she has fallen in popularity due to other 5 stars coming out. I myself only stopped using Keqing as a main DPS (she still leads Team 2 in Abyss) because I got some stupid good rolls on artifacts for Ganyu. Still doesn't mean that Keqing is bad, she can easily carry your team through anything you need to do in the game.
Now as for efficiency of artifacts, she does need a little more investment to make her shine vs other DPS's. She can make use of the Gladiator set but really the Electro Set does her wonders. Glad set drops from a lot more places, as in all the bosses and world bosses. So while farming up mats from them you will passively be getting Glad set pieces, vs having to specifically farm the Electro set domain. Her Still can pretty much be always on with a very small window when the Electro effect isn't on. This means she does much better as an Electro damage DPS then a Physical one. Not to mention building into pure Electro makes her Skill and Burst do that much more damage, so its a win-win.

2) Are you really basing your entire evaluation of a characters's power/potential/value on your personal experience in a random-ass dungeon event with hardly an ounce of difficulty? Could you be more detailed at least in how it felt playing her? Cause all I'm gonna say is two words: Kazuha carried. Whether you think so or not, whether you like it or not, Kazuha carried. If you're messing around with any random team with him in it, against multiple targets, (probably) Kazuha carried.
3) If you're now hoping to pull Keqing solely for performance/meta, PLEASE go see a therapist. What kinda ass build is your Hu Tao on to make you even remotely consider that?
If you want to continue this "discussion" (I realize that I might sound a bit unhinged), I can provide everything from detailed calculations to video evidence to my personal experience with playing Keqing. She's pretty fun. And she was my first 5-star, so I'm still using her. Would I recommend her, especially to F2P players? Fucking hell no.
@@sallyhope2137 1) If you have the primos and are thinking of using Keqing if you ever get her, I highly recommend picking up Kazuha whenever he gets a rerun if you don’t already have him. He is pretty much a must if you want to get any performance out of her.
2) Outside of quickswap teams, Keqing’s main source of damage are her CAs. If you get her, you should figure out real quick exactly what issues arise from that. She won’t feel so good when you have to jump/dash cancel after every couple CAs, wasting stamina and/or spending more time chasing after lighter enemies than actually hitting them.
From the moment I got to play her (from event or story quest, I dont remember) I immediately knew she would be amazing to play. I like the fast gameplay more than the slow but big nuke gameplay, so her being able to blink to targets and quickly smack enemies around really clicked with me. Since I dont care enough about Spiral Abyss because of its tryhard atmosphere and favor around burst instead of speed, I see no problems with her at all. But that's because I mainly just do overworld stuff and domains. She was too late to come with the party to explore, but that missed time is being made up for with the daily grind and exploring Inazuma every now and then.
She has one of the coolest talent sets, it feels like you're playing Virgil from DMC with her talents especially her burst. But other than that, Mihoyo really did her dirty.

People say his analysis of why no one plays is outdated...but the shear fact that this reaction method he mentioned is what happened makes me feel it's the exact opposite.
He pointed out possible ways to improve and mihoyo used similar methods when they implemented dendro.
I'm not saying he knew but it worked well enough
she needs the albedo treatment. a weapon and arti set with her name on it. Maybe something to do with multihitting attacks/skills/burst. Though that would also buff ayaka and she definitely doesn't need that.

There's something you missed about electro. It's true that electro by itself feels pale in comparison with other elements except geo. This is, as you mentioned, because of electro reaction scaling only by level and EM, unlike vape/melt that scales with attack, crit, AND EM. Keqing biggest problem is that electro have no priority in term of who's proccing what, making her rather inconsistent for reaction based team. Electro reaction itself isn't as bad as you think they're when you get to abuse them. And it's also unfortunate that she doesn't scale as hard as other carries you mentioned.
Sucrose taser come to mind as the premier electro charge abuser, thanks to her anemo swirl spreading both hydro and electro so when an electro charge happened, the game registered sucrose as the one proccing it (might not be all, but most of the time, giving her the consistency over any other unit). Thanks to anemo unit often goes for EM, because of their kit told them to do so, sucrose able to capitalized on this interaction to be one of the strongest electro charge abuser if not the best abuser in the game.
Electro isnt as bad cuz the element is actually being used. Superconduct is used for eula teams, electro-charged is used for firework and taser teams and ovearload is used for Raiden national and sukokomon who uses all of those reactions, so the element Can work unlike geo that doesnt work with anything tho the biggest problem being how the reactions are rng on who will proc the reaction.
Electro is the worst element in Genshin. Just admit it buddy.

@@aquaa2272 while it is powerfull there's pretty much no teams that uses it besides Xiao and hu tao using a geo char most of the time will just hurt your team especially when the only viable combo with geo resonance is zhongli and albedo
Very well made video but I do have some issues with some parts.
The best support by far is Bennett. His attack buff, cleanse and heal is so good in too many teams. Kazuha and Zhongli don't come near him.
Xiangling with Bennett buff is one of the strongest DPS in the game, so I was kinda surprised you put her in support.
Electro itself is not that bad. If you play Raiden hypercarry, almost a third of its damage comes from Kazuha and overload damage. Raiden-National (Raiden, Xiangling, Xingqiu and Bennett) also benefit from overload damage.
Electrocharged with an anemo unit is also very strong. Sucrose, Beidou, Fischl and Xingqiu make one of the best AoE teams in the game. They don't do very big numbers but the amount of small numbers do matter.
Keqings stamina cost really is something. Every sword character has 20 stamina cost charge attacks but Keqing has 25 stamina cost and repositions herself back. Keqing really deserves a buff.

Xianling is strongest pyro dps bcs of aoe.

Really enjoy the video! I do believe Beidou, Fischl, and Raiden beat her out in electro application though. If not faster, they are certainly more consistent. Those three units are exactly what caused me to pretty much retire my Keqing indefinitely outside of playing around with her in open world to enjoy her playstyle and mobility.
I do feel like her biggest drawback is stamina consumption when relying on charged attack for damage. Until they change stamina, or add a support to the game that fortifies or recovers stamina usage, she will suffer there.
I think her Kit and base damage needed a rework. Her ulti last hit should be at the star and need and have higher damage. She was out class by damage from the start and people say that electro need to have better reactions but that will boost all electro characters making her less viable than Baal, Beidou or Fischl as DPS while they work as support. I don't know what MHY was thinking while they build her. Is like the comparative between Qiqi and Diona, while Diona give shield, heal and create particules Qiqi just heals and is as bad DPS as the other. Is like Fischl and Diona are the 5 star while Qiqi and Keqing are the 4 star.
There is a support that lowers stamina usage. One of Barbara's talents makes her E reduce stamina consumption by 12%, so she can do that for 20 out of 32s. And with the clam set, she can contribute a bit more now than previously. Of course, 12% isn't enough. Would like to see a weapon or artifact set that boosts stamina regen.
The reaction you described stating at 6:30 almost perfectly describes the Electro×Dendro reaction... I think it'll definitely be a Keqing buff
I'd love to see a Keqing buff, or more focused electro viability in general.

Heyo, just passing by to say two things:
- Making repeated applications after the initial one still proc reactions would be incredibly broken. Take Klee's ultimate, for example: It would proc 4 vaporize reactions every time it hit. A 3 pyro + 1 hydro team (like Klee, Bennett, Xiangling and Xingqiu) would be absolutely insane.
- Superconduct is also great for Eula (Eula + Lisa is a famous combo).

nah I think eula raiden or eula fishcl beidou is much more popular than eula lisa, Looking at abyss data since 1.6 will tell.
@@hagianghoang4026 Those are the cookie cutter default electro supports for Eula. In the EulaMains subreddit, Eula + Lisa is especially loved for some reason, so that's why I mentioned it specifically. It's very famous among Eula mains, but not the most popular or most played comp/combo overall.
Just remove ICD from transformative reaction and leave amplifying reaction as is.

Tbh, though, Keqing is one of those characters where you can get a *nice* Crit Rate/Crit DMG ratio and I just love that for her.
Keqing was my first 5star character and i still use her as my main, And i have to say that i really love her solo capabilities because you can just play the game and ignore those elemental reactions.
As a keqing main, the only thing holdong her back is that she is electro. Maybe dendro+electro reaction could save her but the strong slash is at the end of her burst thus making it harder to get higher damage numbers.
