Before I quit Genshin, I pulled on Shenhe's last banner purely because I fell in love with her character during the Jade Chamber quest. I didn't know what the meta was at the time and I didn't even have a Cryo DPS, I just pulled for Shenhe and had some fun with her.
I quit Genshin because of storage issues but I still keep up with the community. Because of how long she was last seen, this sorta made a joke where, “Oh hey, I have access to a character that isn't even released yet while you guys don't, that's my biggest flex.”
I done with Genshin cause of Natlan and it oversaturated release of 5 star waifus
The game's direction went in the opposite way of what I was anticipating after the Sumeru and that's what made me quit.

Making dendro not able to react with cryo really killed the elements usability. Freeze can't be used on most bosses in the abyss anymore.

@VeliaOwO yes it does lol. You tag the enemies with nahida, then drop ayaka's burst, and then hit kuki's skill and ayaka's numbers go up due to nahida's Def shred. I do it all the time can get 10k+ more on ayaka's burst hits doing this.

I didn’t care about Shenhe at all when she released but obviously years later hear I am with a changed mind now that I have Chasca but no sign of her. Can’t imagine what the people who’ve actually been looking forward for her the whole time feel

Freeze needs a secondary effect when used on enemies that cannot be frozen , and probably a change to permanently freezing enemies probably and the secondary could just be applied when the main freeze effect is on cooldown so you still get some effect for your troubles, maybe something involving crit dmg and rate ?
they could just make it so units get the frozen status but can be immune to it. This way you can proc the artefact set that requires frozen status
@@Zuvas and they could also slow the unfreezeable enemies down. It wouldn’t be as strong as being completely frozen, but it would make the reaction at least useful and let it stay true to it’s purpose!
It needs a new set where boss's don't need to be frozen for it to work and at the very least the set must provide a freaking massive damage bonus. Even with Ayaka's best 5* team her and all her best supports on their 5* weapons. She still clears slower than any other team i have and its not even really close. Freeze not benefiting from reaction damage is crippling.
15:22 This is my conspiracy - Hoyo is deliberately holding her and Wrio back, just to test how much the fomo of an entire element without a rerun will increase the sales. If they see Wrio and Shenhe sell way more on their eventual reruns, they might hold some other element hostage for a year.
It's so true and i hate it. I love cryo, of course i'm going to pull for cryo, hoyo. And obviously, if a characters sells 6 times on 2 occasions (taking small numbers because maths) and another sells 2 times on 6 occasions, guess what, hoyo : the characters made the same sales. I'm tiring of them trying to bank on the fomo uggghhh
I think it's partly this, but also partly just the fact that they did it for so long that now we are close enough to Snezhnaya that they're thinking eh may as well hold all Cryo characters back until that region comes around. I guarantee once Snezhnaya comes out will be absolutely spammed with Cryo characters. We'll get two Shenhe reruns in 6.X or something.
And thus, the cryo trilogy was completed
Shenhe has a lot of potential to rebound in Snezhnya, but we need to be able to play as her for that to happen lol.
Imagine Snezhnya release and hoyo immediately powercreep Shenhe before rerun her by releasing better cyro

@@nattapakniranittikul It makes more sense to rerun her and THEN powercreep her because if they release the better unit first nobody will spend money on shenhe, whereas if they run shenhe first people may spend pulls on shenhe and then have less to use on the new unit, making them more likely to have to spend in order to reach pity.
Shenhe is borderline the weakest element-specific buffer there is. Unless they make Bronya yet another on-fielder like Mavuika, she will become completely irrelevant in a heartbeat.

The fact that Hoyo released Shenhe's Lantern Rite costume last year without rerunning her is outrageous. I wanted her. I wanted the costume. If they put up her banner I would've pulled for her. What were they thinking?
Shenhe's story broke my fucking heart, man. Watching her develop bonds with her sister and birdmom and the people of Liyue bit by bit made me tear up. She works!! At that Liyue restaurant whose name I forget!! Aaaaa!!
I'm a dendro main (been playing since shortly after Sumeru came out), but I've been considering pulling Shenhe this whole time just to build a team around her. Her character appeal is just that strong. She's numbed out and violent and doesn't know how to love but she's doing it anyway. She's so so interesting. And gorgeous tall booba etc etc.
As you said, Hoyo abandoned her just like she was abandoned in her story. MAAAAAN. Justice for Shenhe.
My only hope is that Shenhe will get a rerun when the cryo region (fuck I forgot their name) comes out ...

Waiting for Shenhe has been one of the biggest pains of being a "new-ish" player. I joined the game at the end of Baizhu's first banner and one of the first things I figured out was that I wanted Shenhe because she ended up being my favourite character both story and personality wise, the biggest things that matter to me. I hate playing Cryo but I still really really wanted her and to this day I still haven't had a chance to get her because of this lack of a rerun and it just really sucks. Baizhu's now eligibile for Chronical Wish and I still don't have one of my favourite characters in the game because she hasn't gotten a rerun (not to say I dislike Baizhu or anything, I love the guy but like.... really hoyo?)
That's so understandable, I love Shenhe as well, and I was still pretty new to the game when she reran, so I didn't have enough wishes to get her after losing my 50/50. Had I known she wouldn't rerun for more than a year I would've tried harder to get her then 🥲
It's wild that they released entire *games* with solid five star *ROSTERS* at this point without Shenhe having a single rerun..
As a returning player, it's a serious pain. I started in 1.3., quit in 2.1., and just rejoined in 5.1. There are so many characters I want (Yae, Kokomi, The Kamisatos, Baizhu, and Nahida), but they're sooo far in line because Genshin prioritizes rerun of certain characters

In all seriousness I do think Shenhe could shine a lot in a mono Cryo team, so if we ever got a DPS like Lyney that incentivized this playstyle at all Shenhe would be BiS. Shenhe already performs comparably to Furina in her spot on Ayaka freeze teams, so I think all she needs is a DPS that actually wants what she needs specifically.

Unlikely. We had entire "Cryo Era" when Cryo was superior element for 2 years straight and was mocking any difficulty in game through Freeze. Then Hoyo started fixing balance by nerfing Cryo. Right now it seems that they decided to make Cryo as catalyst element for other elements and this new direction most likely gonna rise closer to Snezhnaya
@@sokka4875 That’s not how it works, her Quills are per character. So Capitano would get 5/7 to use how he sees fit, and whatever Cryo sub DPSs we get would also get 5/7 to use however they want. Shenhe scales extremely well with more Cryo characters on the team.
Imagine a Snezhnayan Mono-Cryo "Lyney", Shenhe, Tsaritsa being a Crit Buffer and maybe some electro char that would superconduct all this ice everywhere.

I have shenhe and do play her and l love her she’s a powerhouse unit when built well and is a really strong support but the problem is since no one really uses cryo and its units are few and far between her usage as a support is essentially unseen which is a shame because she’s amazing!
Still find it pretty baffling that they sold paid skins for Ganyu and Shenhe and didn't run them.
Also we're almost in the next Lantern Rite and both are still missing.
That said, I did unbench my Shenhe for Chasca's team. There's a conversation to be had about rainbow teams and how its resonance is bad.
It's crazy that the people who bought her outfit in anticipation for her rerun are STILL waiting to be able to use that outfit.
Tbh that is just a bad move on their part. Never buy something for a thing you don't even have yet unless you are 100% sure you'll have it soon, not eventually, soon.

Unless it's a situation like Natlan where natlan characters really want other natlan teammates for nightsoul points... So outrageous. I am even doubting if I should pull for pyro archon since it won't be that strong with non natlan teams
@@andreacristiano5452 Although I believe they'll invent some Snezhnayan-exclusive mechanic, technically, given what they've learned in Fontaine and Natlan, they don't really need it to make Snezhnayan and Cryo chars "appealing".
For example, make chars really dependant on Crits for damage instead of elemental reactions, then release Tsaritsa as a Crit Buffer. They could even release the Superconduct/Melt Versions of Blizzard Strayer which would guarantee at least 4 new types of DPS chars, with lots of Crit Rate but poor ATK scaling to balance it out, thus making them anti-synergic with most buffers in the game(Since they either buff ATK, EM or a specific elemental DMG), and then Tsaritsa comes and gives huge Crit DMG buff based on how many cryo reactions triggered or whatever.
With this mechanic, I think they could even launch an actual DPS Cryo Catalyst instead of healers and buffers.
You know it’s bad when citlali doesn’t even want to help her own effing element🤣. Also xilonen killed the dedicated support game for cryo, pyro, hydro, and electro, so it was bound to happen.
I’m a Shenhe main who was finally able to get her on her first and only rerun, waiting was torture. I wanted her so badly. I think a forgotten aspect of wanting characters is just liking them as a person and also she’s EXTREMELY pretty. I want C1 so badly it’s not even funny, this is insanity. I was so happy to get her skin, it’s gorgeous and it gave me hope of a rerun. NOPE. I feel like because of this wait for her, they should buff her as an apology. I’m also a cryo main so you can imagine just how sad I feel that it’s been left in the garbage! I am of course getting Citlali, duh. I’m grasping at straws here! I need Snezhnaya to give this element life or so help me I WILL GO TO HOYO THEMSELVES 😤😔

I don't use my cryo characters very often and don't always have reasons to use her, and yet she's consistently the character who I appreciate for not only her cryo buffing, but also her character and story. I'm waiting for the day when some big and important new cryo characters release, so she can steal the spotlight again!!!
If shenhe doesnt get a rerun before zzz gets its raiden clone ima have to speak to someone at hoyoverse bc i have ganyu and ayaka (i skipped wrio for venti’s bow and furina) and i dont got shenhe to make their runs in abyss good

Citlali is coming soon, and given that she buff both Melt and Freeze Reactions, and can use the Scroll of Cinder City which is an Artifact Set that’s just BROKEN as hell… Yeah
More importantly, Cryo DPS are getting crippled. Ganyu is the only one that can escape, but there is no CA Xianyun

Ganyu: CAs are slow
Eula: she is physical DPS and there is no Physical support
Ayaka: the very same thing that made her OP is the very same problem and there's no way to fix it
Wriostheley is kinda pain to manage
I think shenhe is a character that REALLY goes to show more direct buffs wouldn't be all that bad

Shenhe was the one character I dropped money to pull when she came out. Considering her history I think that was a really good call. She’s like the prize of my collection and I use her constantly.
Probably just make birthday banners and a new banner to shove older 5 stars into, that also rotates more frequently than the regular banner
YES PLEASE! A birthday banner would be c'est magnificent! Plus, it'd be a really easy way to get Amber Kaeya and Lisa constellations!
This is basically Eula problem where both are neglected and forgotten by powerful characters wasted by their specific gimmick, I got both girls and triple crowned them last year but i can’t recommend them to others cause each requires her own 5stars to optimize and even though they work well together it’s basically meta Eula team which requires skills something many players don’t want (evidence to Nav popularity), it’s obviously cryo got sidelined to avoid another obvious power creep with Dendro until next region which will introduce new Cryo with their own mechanics like Natlan which might save Shenhe and even Eula who’s still the only physical limited character.
To put it in perspective, here are the current top ten characters based on amount of patches it’s been since they had a banner:
Shenhe: 15
Ganyu: 14
Kokomi: 12
Childe: 11
Wriothesley: 10 (who has only had ONE banner, that being his release)
Venti: 10
Cyno: 9
Ayato: 9
Ayaka: 8
Yoimiya: 8
As of this month it’s been over *600 days* since the last Shenhe banner, and over a year since any of these guys had one, too. This isn’t a problem that’s happening in isolation- it’s happening to archons, harbingers, and fan favorites alike.
same thing's happening for bladie, silver wolf and seele in HSR who havent had a rerun for over a year now.
archons get a marathon at the start of every patch tho, venti will come in 5.4 or 5.5
Why is that every time a new 5-star Cryo is introduce, they rarely get a rerun. In fact in terms of rarity, Cryo has the less 5-stars units than 4-stars.
I remembered losing the 50/50 on Wriothesley's banner and started saving for his rerun. I also remember saving Primos for Shenhe so I would have her when Wriothesley gets a rerun. Now I have C2 Neuvillette and have no desire to pull for her or Wriothesley, which is sad considering Genshin forces you to pull for popular characters like Furina, Arlecchino, and Neuvillette amd the game feels less diverse
I am so glad I was able to get Shenhe in 3.5 because in the banner before I had no primogems because it was Hu Tao and Yelan banner and I had gotten Yelan tried to go Aqua Simulacra but got Jade Winged Spear instead. But in the end I was able to bag Shenhe in the end.
I have C6 Shenhe (my only C6) and I think that's actually one of the most rarest things you can have on your account nowadays

I love playing freeze, regardless of its place in the meta.
So if something can help me to improve something I already like to do I would. Simple.
1st time shenhe I didn't have money.
2nd time I've stop playing genshin.
But 3rd time I would not skip.
I love the character, the lore, the cutscenes we got.

I have Shenhe She’s the first 5 star I triple crowned 👑, Shenhe has been helpful getting 5 star artefacts I couldn’t get before at the beginning- I think because of this players that decided not to ever pull for her should reconsider she a great cryo support, but one thing I think people won’t is the cryo ability when she froze the tsunami in the cutscene became Ayaka burst instead of Shenhe burst.

I've been playing for 2 years and haven't seen her once.
That ramble at the end... I felt that, lot of characters neglected, this is why they should put 4 reruns on each banner or even 5 so at least people could collect the characters even if those are not meta, since they are not rerun them anyways at least they would get the money of those who actually like the chracter...
PD: Got Shenhe from her first banner because I liked her, same as Eula on her last rerun, no regrets at all, I like collecting characters.
I think what Shenhe needs is the revival of Cryo, and what cryo needs, is 1, a way for freeze teams to be viable on unfreezable enemies, 2, an incentive to make a cryo dominated melt team, and 3, buffer character for the physical dmg of Shatter.
1 is the hardest, how can we make freeze teams viable for unfreezable enemies? I'm imagining a cryo offfield dps, with an ability i'll dub coldsnap: stockpiles buffs to cryo damage whenever an enemy negates freeze. This unit would probably need a second benefit to be picked, and to not kill chi-chi, that should probably be a shield. The other two could be resolved with Navia/Chevreuse/Ororon type characters. Probably of the pyro and hydro elements respectively. I am also still hoping for an electro physical buffer for Eula.
Lets push Hoyo to leave no chars behind!
I wish CN players would become vocal about the need for a third banner again. Last time Hoyo shut them up by inventing the chronicled wish, and then never brought it back. RIP people's chronicled wish pity
there is always a rumor that it will be back next version.. but if they ran chron wish alongside Mavuika/Citlali.. the banner after Zhongli/Neuvi and before Furina(possibly venti) that would be as bad as not running it at all

Yeah she’s my favorite as well. Hope my fellow Shenhe fans can get her eventually. I still play her plenty, makes freeze feel amazing.
She is the one character that I regret wishing for. While she's great at her job, she was more of a luxury/waifu collector character.
But yeah, Mihoyo did to freeze what they did to Venti. I think the best way they can buff cryo, is to alow it to have a slowing affect on enemies that can't be frozen. This way you can still get the rest of the benefits from cryi resonance, and the enemy can still perform.
I think they're going to make Citali an outlier for Cryo. Just like they did with Navia for geo. They're going to boost her multipliers and boost the damage of melt and swirl through the ceiling. Since they don't want to do anything with superconduct and we can't use freeze anymore. Just to sell citali and cryo.
A pretty bullshit move if you ask me.

Short answer: she's in cryo prison. No one CAN or is allowed to have her, nor do they have a reason to have her.
But seriously the biggest problem with her that despite being 5 Star that only cryo she not even necessarily for and any of them because she only buffs 5 to 7
I got shenhe on her first run and never regretted it. Her, ayaka, koko and Kazuha is still one of my favorite teams.
Shenhe was my first intentional 5* pull. Even c1!
Very sad story. I have not really anything to do for her. She is always benched.
I have never seen a Shenhe rerun. I came into the game a few months after her debut, and I was on hiatus during her only rerun. Whenever she comes around again I'll probably pull her just to have her. Ayaka is my favorite main DPS character, so if anyone who doesn't already have Shenhe can find a way to make use of her, I should be able to.
Since Shenhe's last banner there have been 19 characters that have been on banners at least twice. And 4 of those characters have even had 3 reruns since her last banner, with Kazuha, Baizhu, Lyney, and Neuvillette.
No me thinking I would just pull for her weapon on her rerun
I started playing about a week before 2.4 and Shenhe was my first ever 5 star. Even though I don't use her much these days, I still bring her out every so often purely because I love her character and because of how neglected she's been. She deserves better than this from Hoyo

it's so rough being a cryo main. I joined right around fontaine's release and cryo is by far my favorite element to play (kaeya was my first main, wriothesley was my first 5*, chongyun was my first sub-dps, layla was my first shielder, and qiqi was the first healer I actually built halfway decently). shenhe is a must-have on an account like mine considering how much cryo I use and it makes me so sad that she's locked up in the basement the way she is. you can bet your ass I'm bringing her home ASAP but omfg she has to rerun first to do that-
I started playing at around 3.2 / 3.3, so I was still quite new to the game during 3.5 After getting Ayaka (guaranteed, because I lost the 50:50 on the 3.4 Hu Tao Banner (my second 50:50 loss in two consecutive patches), I decided to pull for Shenhe, mainly because I liked her backstory. This time I actually won the 50:50.
I haven't used her much but I'm still glad I got her, especially because of the lack of Shenhe reruns. xD

I got shenhe because she was super interesting and cool, she always felt kinda tough to use so I saved for her rerun and got c1 and c2 and I love what she brings to the table. It's kinda fun having a super highly invested niche unit that not many other people utilize. C2 with r5 Fav lance I have never wanted for anything ❤
Accidentally got c1 shenhe and she is now best friends with my Ayaya. Love her double skill as a dodge.

i feel like pyro was kinda in a similiar situation during sumeru, then in fontaine it kinda got revived by lyney, arlecchino and chevreuse, and now with mavuika coming out it's finally back on top. It just feels like hoyo purposefully neglects an element till their region comes out so they can make a more impactful (and therefore more hyped) comeback

the part at 14:09 about citlali (or any other natlan cryo character) eclipsing shenhe, and then the cryo archon... man that is just so depressing to hear. shenhe deserves better
I’m so glad I didn’t skip her long ago, and got her C1. I wanted to make her a long term C6 plan. But then they proceeded to never rerun her again, so I ended up spending my huge stash on a C4 furina instead. It is better this way, because cryo sucks. At least until we reach the cryo region. But I fear they are gonna power creep Shenhe with yet another better cryo buffer by then. Be it the archon or a different 5 star.
I remember When She came out everybody were like "Nah niche support". After they saw how good with Ayaya every Ayaya main wanted her and waited for her rerun. Me when I first see her design"Hmmm Luxurious Chest". After I saw her trailer "Luxurious chest and Ayako Kawasumi. Must have"(Yeah I'm a fate fan). First I didn'T have Ayaya so I use her in my Eula team and on the infinite Ayaya banner I got her so Shenhe finally got a good team. Since I never liked Ayaya when Wrio came out I dumped her and put my queen next to Wrio.When I got Chasca I immedietly paired her with Shenhe. And ofc her skin was an instabuy for me. I'M waiting on her rerun to get her C1. I'M cursed with my favorite characters reruns. First I waited on Eula second rerun to get her on C6 and now Shenhe.
Ice/Cryo isn't just Genshin's issue.
HSR and ZZZ have been *extremely* light on the element as well. HSR and ZZZ are both releasing a new ice unit soon, The Herta and Miyabi respectively, after not releasing a new one since launch (ZZZ, Ellen Joe) or February (HSR, Misha).
They just don't seem to like the element despite adding it to every game.
I find it really funny that hoyo basically broke the pattern of rerunning characters around 4 versions after they release because they simply refuse to add a third banner / actually fix the banner system in any meaningful way. Wriothesly and cloud retainer have been waiting over a year for their first rerun. Realistically CR will rerun at lantern rite like Xiao always does but it’s actually insane to me that despite releasing at the same time Neuvillete now qualifies for chronicled wish while wrio is nowhere near close.
The most insane stat to me is that Baizhu, who was released after Shenhe's second banner, is most likely going to be on a Liyue chronicled wish because he qualifies but she doesn't.

Ima say it: I accidentally got Shenhe on her release banner way back when because I was trying for Yun Jin. She remains the only 5 star character that I got early and not at max pity. Although I was maining Ganyu at the time so it wasn't a waste of a character.
For instance, I have 13 limited 5 stars, including Shenhe and Ganyu.
I'm now using her as a filler slot for Chasca until Citlali - provided I actually win 50/50, that is. And yes, I'm near max pity - 69 to be exact.
I still think there should be Cryo reaction with Dendro: Wilt. Similar to Spread/Aggravate, increases the damage of the next Cryo attack, but has the added benefit of actually slowing the enemy down for a few seconds the same way we get slowed down when we’re afflicted with Cryo.
TL;DW: She’s a niche support, with one best-in-slot team, and she hasn’t reran in forever.

Trying to build the Eula/Raiden/Shenhe team is truly a test of patience. Started with Xianyun's debut, still no Shenhe a year later.
Cloud Retainer said in her story quest Shenhe would be gone for a long time because she got a job. She is a waiter now.
So for those who want to roll the rubber doll on the next patch in Genshin, know, that she will have a rerun in 3-4 patches, while as Citlani, a cryo character, will likely never will in a year or two.
still grateful i pulled her on her first banner. i originally pulled her for chongyun, and now i play her every single day with wriothesley. i’d go for cons if i had the primos but im broke after trying (and failing) to get xilonen and neuvillette’s weapon

I have her C1, but she's a luxury char. There's cheaper ways to buff characters such as Bennett that's more universal than to spend to get a limited char specifically for buffing cryo DPS. The reason I even have her is cuz I was trying to get Yunjin cons and got her in 30 pulls and since then I went for her cons to try to get her to buff Chongyun because of sunk-cost feeling like a 5-star is just sitting in my roster and not being used for anything. That, and cryo with the freeze team is in a terrible spot on floor 12 because no bosses can freeze, and you can't even shatter when the reaction has been buffed anyway because you can't freeze bosses - just overall terrible
