    Sir, every thing about this project is spot on, the tecniques, the planning, all the problem solving, CAD design, diy solutions, assembling and painting is on master level. On top of that the videos layout and the narration is exquisit, the series is joy to watch. My only complain is that you should post more content as it's so good to witness such a craftmanship unvail. But I do understand that it takes long time to create models on that detail from scratch. Amazing and inspiring. Bravo

      Wow! thank you PlasticVibe Music, that is very kind of you. Project Slave 1 is a very complex build and much as I would like to release files now I am constantly finding minor issues to resolve. Taking a methodical approach to the build and my videos means I can maintain quality content. Albeit not as frequent as I would like. I try and release a video each month but only if I am happy I have done my best. I hope this attitude comes across in my model making and content. Thank you once again. 🙂

    Just a quick note to tell you how much I am enjoying your videos. You are amazing! Thank you for posting your technical artistry. I would love love love to tinker and get into this but I just do not have the time with all of my professional and family commitments. I'll keep watching with a smile and great appreciation. All the very best to you and your loved ones!

      Thanks for the very kind comment DuderOneKenobi. I'm so pleased you are enjoying my channel. Project Slave 1 started off as a simple build and got very out of hand... It does take a lot of time to re-design the parts and ensure they fit and print, hence the long gaps between videos. The printer is currently running 24/7 so a new video will be along soon. 🙂

      There are quite a few 'concepts' out there but not many practical solutions to the rotating cockpit nightmare. Slave 1 is a crazy spaceship for sure. 🙂

    I love your ambition to make the most perfect slave 1 model.
    I had the AMT Slave one back in the 90`s.
    Unfortunately I didn't buy slave 1 when Bandai got the rights when it was still cheap, now it costs twice as much.
    Unfortunately I don't have a 3D printer.

    • @StaplesandVine
      @StaplesandVine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Thomas, thanks for the great comment. I remember the AMT version from 'back in the day'. Technology certainly has moved on. Hopefully my Slave 1 will tick all the boxes for Star Wars fans.

    Very nice. I have a few questions if you don’t mind?
    Do you have an eta for the finalised files?
    What is the minimum bed size?
    Do you have a guide price for the files?
    I look forward to seeing the end product.

    • @StaplesandVine
      @StaplesandVine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Sci Fi Guy, re your questions
      I reckon I should be able to release the files in about 2 months.
      I am working on a minimum bed size and will try and give more detail in the next video.
      The feedback I am getting is £100 which works out at less than £1 per part. Most people think this is about right.
      I will post any updates on my channel first so make sure you are subscribed. Glad you like the build. 🙂

      Hi Michael, I think I used about 25% Valejo airbrush thinner. It certainly toned things down but I really wasn't happy with the final colour so I then tweaked everything with oils to get something I was happy with. Glad you are enjoying the project. 🙂

    Beyond exciting !! How do you think - would it be feasible to print the model on a 200 x 200 mm printer with no additional slicing required or will some parts be simply to mighty ?

    • @StaplesandVine
      @StaplesandVine  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Arnold, you're going to need a bigger printer! Or you could scale all the parts down. The wings and hull parts are the largest. While you could slice up the hull it wouldn't be a good idea with the wings.

    super interesting project. And honestly I would be very interested in this. But a couple of question though. I have the gambody stl file, but honestly I don't think I'll ever get to print it since I hate waste hours on adding my own supports on models.
    So will your come presupported?
    Will you have optimized files for 10" sized printers like the Phrozen mighty 8k? My wife would probably kill me if I bought a 14" sized printer, or make me sleep in the shed :)
    Also, lighting this kit would be obvious, have there been made any considerations to this? (something like channels for fibers/wires) and and such In particular things like engines and cockpit control boards. Not really a deal breaker, but would be awesome.
    looking forward to seeing the end result.

    • @StaplesandVine
      @StaplesandVine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Sprocket55, I won't be offering pre-supported as just guidance on printing setups. There are 130 + parts and at this size I can't cater for all the different printer build volumes for the optimum print orientation. I will be going through part sizes vs build volumes in the next video.
      In this episode I do mention that I am allowing wiring for lighting. There will be a removable panel at the end of the tail for access to a 9V battery etc.
      Hope this helps.

    • @sprocket5526
      @sprocket5526 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@StaplesandVine Ty for the answer. missed the part with the wiring. Even though its not pre-supported, this is a WAY WAY better model then the gambody, so if I actually have to spend the time on pre-supporting, it will be your model :)

  • @ronnyhilton2662

    Hard ask but will the final files possibly have a pre supported version For resin printing

    • @StaplesandVine
      @StaplesandVine  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ronny, no I'm afraid not these are all big files and setups will vary from printer to printer. My videos and printing guide included with the files will give the best advice on how to print the parts. 🙂

  • @3drocket
    @3drocket ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How will you make the cockpit glass? Will you print it in a clear resin or use a vac form? I am interested in making this in 1:48 and am wondering if the largest part will fit on my Phrozen Sonic Mini 8k.

    • @StaplesandVine
      @StaplesandVine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Matthew, I have test printed the cockpit glass in clear resin already. It is possible but the resin does yellow over time. I will add provision to make a buck for vac-forming which is the process I will use on my model. I'm not sure 1:48 will fit on your printer. I'll look more closely in the next video. Larger parts may fit but not when orientated for printing. 🤔

    • @StaplesandVine
      @StaplesandVine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The finished model will be 1/30 scale to match the filming model used in 'The Empire Strikes Back'. It is possible to scale the parts up or down depending on what size you want to print the model.
