    Now that my original Slave 1 is sold I have turned my attention to creating my own set of stand-alone files. My goal is to release my own files for Slave 1. In this video you will be able to judge for yourself the results and check out my new range of clothing to celebrate the success of ‘Project Slave 1’.

    I think the only thing I would change about the interior at this time would be a ladder instead of stairs up to the cockpit. That would better fit the idea of a military/ bounty hunter gunship and if I remember correctly that was how it was described in the old EU books. Cargo hold would be bigger as well. Look forward to the files coming out for printing!

    • @StaplesandVine
      @StaplesandVine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi thanks for the feedback, it's appreciated. I figured that given up to 5 crew would be using the upper deck stairs would be better. They are set at the steepest practical angle. I could do a ladder as an alternative? Re the cargo hold the interior is as big as it possibly can be. When filming interiors they are always enlarged beyond the actual size. 'Tadris Effect' 🙂

    • @13dirtblack
      @13dirtblack ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@StaplesandVine I meant if you had a ladder instead of stairs the cargo hold would have more floor space. Definitely include it as an option if possible! 🙂

    It's kinda weird to have an area right behind the cockpit where the gravity of the ship changes at a 90 degree angle in flight, but that is already how things work in Star Wars. The Millennium Falcon turrets are in little rooms at 90 degrees perpendicular to the gravity in the rest of the ship,

    • @StaplesandVine
      @StaplesandVine  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you are absolutely right the Falcon's gravity did set me thinking that 'up' could be in two directions in the same ship.

    Version 2 looks incredible, the amount of details you added into the interior is going to really test your printers capability. Are you going to release a Vac-form for the cockpit glass or make the actual piece available when you get the files.

    • @StaplesandVine
      @StaplesandVine  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Jeffrey, yes the printer will certainly get a work out. I plan to create a 3D file for the canopy and for a vac form. It is such a key part to the model and can make or break it.

  • @dominicpizzey1515
    @dominicpizzey1515 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Awesome work
    I have one concern though... Having looked at the bandai model, which in itself is an excellent recreation of the original studio model, I'm worried about your scaling. Overall, the carbonite and Boba Fett figures feels too large, especially when you bare in mind the scenes from ESB.
    There's also the set from Mandalorian season two, with everyone inside the cargo bay strapped into the seats, which itself was what gave me concerns about the scale tbh.
    I know this is your interpretation, but I thought I'd voice my opinion and see what you thought.

    • @StaplesandVine
      @StaplesandVine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A good point, scale is a tricky one. worked it out based on the specified dimensions of the actual ship. I think the sets are 'tweeked' for filming. If I tried to go by the TV interior it would be a lot bigger and would make the whole ship out of scale with the movies.

    • @dominicpizzey1515
      @dominicpizzey1515 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StaplesandVine you could always get hold of the bandai 1/144 scale kit and scale based on the teeny tiny Boba inside it lol...

    • @StaplesandVine

    • @StaplesandVine
      @StaplesandVine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would describe this as an 'advanced model' . It may be wise to cut your teeth on something simpler so you get an idea what to expect. Experiment cutting up files, printing them and glueing them back together. It will help a lot I'm sure. I will be offering advice in the next video. 🙂

    Are your models going to be more optimized for SLA or FDM printing, similar to how Gambody releases their content?

    • @StaplesandVine
      @StaplesandVine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Given the nature of the parts with the high level of detail and complexity they will be primarily designed for SLA printing. BUT It should be possible to print the majority of the larger parts with an FDM printer. I will include a buck to allow the canopy to be vacumn formed.
