    I know it’s late but 54 mins for this tiny piece of gear that has 1-2 functions. I love it so much! You rock Barry, going back through all the vids I missed!

    I love right around 44:00 you go to grab the left paddle out of habit. I bet that would take some getting use too. hehe

    I ordered it last week and now I have it at home. Very nice piece of hardware! I just wished the paddle had a curved shape, but maybe that's not easy with carbon fiber. By the way, the easiest way to remove the magnets is to use one of the other magnets provided (magnetic force!). Also, since there's one milimiter in between the back plate and the microswitch button, you can add some layers of adhesive tape there which will make the shifter much less clicky and even quicker.

    Really nice - I think an alcantara covered paddle option would be a good idea, to make it easier on the fingers when "pushing".

    Another outstanding review Barry my friend. Man, Martin does wonderful work.
    Edit: You should add a little laser pointer to your reviews my friend. May help you point out the real little things that are recessed and dark. Not that you are not doing a great job pointing them out now. Just a thought.

    If you put the shifter on the left hand side of your wheel you can shift and use the handbrake at the same time.

    Great review as always. I'd love to see a review of the 7Nm DD from simplicity sometime in the future

    The only issue that stopped me buying this is you have to bolt it in. If you have a multipurpose rig then you'll have unbolt the whole thing everytime you want to use a rim with paddle shifters. Having it clip into the mounting and clip out with magnets would make this far more desirable. DCD Simulation do a push/pull shifter but it's all 3d printed rather than aluminium like the ascher. Hope they come up with a smarter mounting option in the future to make it easily removable

    Sim Racing Garage, Hi Barry another great review. Can i ask if you have any info on Asher button plates? They are not showing up on the website and ive been wanting to by one for a long time. i dont have a button plate and need one as soon as possible to use with my OSW. Any advice on where i can get a good button plate or info on Asher plates would be great. Cheers,

    Hmm interesting, never saw that style before, I've only used sequential (stick style) push/pull levers, but not a single paddle.

    44:15 Who is that other guy cramped under your rig? He doesn't even appear to have a head. And why is he mimicking the one who's driving? LoL j/k, thought that looked funny as if he was underneath the rig.

    Looks good. I think the paddle itself is too small though. Should be just a bit longer. If you look at rally cars using this they seem to bit a little longer

    Great video Barry, how much force would you say is into the padel?

    • @simracinggarage3026
      @simracinggarage3026  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ascher racing says max is 15nm with the range being 5 to15 by changing out different magnets as I show in the video.

    barry can't wait for you to get the fanatec podium to see what you think...especially after today's fiasco with crazy auction and the other variant being higher priced than simcube

    When I'm just doing GT Sport campaign, I like to smoke with one hand and steer with one hand lol... Pretty managable with a G29, I'm suspecting the GT DD Pro will require more hands on the wheel. But I don't like my ashes in my equipement, so one handed steering is the only option for me when I'm smoking lol.
    But than havinging a single sided 2way shifter would make me able to at least shift with one hand, but would probabably need to max out the powered steering (in other words lower the FFB)
    Ahhh dammit I need to just quit smoking.

    man, I wish they would make one with the split ring style push pull. I think Peugeot used it in the mid 2000s.

    Hi Barry! How long is the extension piece for your steering wheel? Thinking of buying this piece of kit myself.

    • @simracinggarage3026
      @simracinggarage3026  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use a 2" or 4" depending on the rim and wheel system I am running.

    I would love to buy one but I am pretty sure it will interfere with my dual clutch AR fórmula wheel paddles. Wish they make a way to be able to easily remove it and reattach it. 😓

    Is there someone to sell one push-pull rally shifter, because its out of stock ?

  • @nfortin24
    @nfortin24 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Looks like a great part but for that price they should just include all the bracket options. It can't cost them THAT much to make those brackets.

  • @postiez

    What exactly is the point of a push pull shifter? Like, why do rally drivers use this instead of a sequential stick or standard paddles?

    • @-Elaphe-
      @-Elaphe- 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Faster than using a stick and you don't have to release your right hand from the steering wheel. Stadard paddles that rotate with the steering wheel are ok for F1 or GT3, because the degree of rotation is small and your hands are always grabbing the rim on the same position. Rally driving is different. Stardard paddles but fixed, like on sport road cars could be a good solution too, but I think the push-pull paddle is simply better. It would be great to see it implemented on road cars.

    You really don't think €250 for a paddle shifter is out of line?

  • @-Elaphe-
    @-Elaphe- 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've just finished installing my shifter with a custom mounting bracket and custom 3D printed paddle. Take a look: th-cam.com/video/cr7x1qPNr5A/w-d-xo.html You can also notice how the sound has changed and it's not so clicky.

    just throw iracing away. game is garbage especially for rally. Looks like trash, cars feel like jelly and ffb is terrible on top of all that it cost a fortune. Shifter looks awesome tho would love it for WRC or dirt rally.

      I wouldn't say it's garbage, maybe if you were wanting it as a rally simulator, but it's definitely over priced for such an outdated engine. If it was a one time fee it would be a good pick up, but there are far better simulators for a cheaper price. The only reason most people get iracing is for the competitions they provide, other then that it's a waste imo.

    • @OrganicGreens
      @OrganicGreens 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      not trolling assetto corsa, or race room for example shit all over iracing. The main thing is the ffb in iraceing is so bad it takes most the fun out of a wheel. Only good thing about iracing is the structured racing for online otherwise at like 20x the price of better simulators it is indeed garbage
