Barry decided to take fees for reviewing. Fanatec doesnt pay for content creating. So no Fanatec reviews will happen in future with SRG. I reviewed CSL DD and Pro very detailed and this took me +50 hours. On the one hand I understand Barrys decision, but on the other hand payed reviewing is a problem in terms of objectivity. In my case I decided against every payment and affiliate partnerships to stay as much as objective. But thats a decision every content creator has to answer for himself. Btw, I got only one simracing channel subscribed … and thats SRG. Youre doing a great job Barry, I appreciate your work. Greetings from western Europe, Ron.
@@RONreviewt Appreciate the very detailed response🙏🏽. How do you know he charge for reviews?. I already have the Fanatec GT DD PRO, and I was starting to question if the bases have problems or something because Barry didn’t do a single review on them. I think I have seen some videos of your channel. But to be honest the only one I trust and like it’s Barry. It’s hard to do reviews better than him. Boosted Media it’s the only one I see that can compete with him. I’m still going to check out your videos, to see how good they are. Have a nice day brother.
good review, as always! could you make a review of the P1-Sim Eau Rouge steering wheel? i have not seen any reviews of it, but an F1 driver uses it. It is also priced lower than most high end F1 steering wheels, so i was wondering how good it is.
@@emilkofod Interesting n’ unfortunate cause I’m interested in those pedals, but when content creators get free merchandise I’m less inclined to buy. Honestly, the degree that Barry does his reviews, companies should make that investment, cause he’s thorough, and indirectly holds you to your word on how good you say your product is, if you’re not confident in your product I can see why some may not for fear of being exposed perhaps.
@@HERMITBOY I have preordered those pedals myself, luckily there are plenty of other reviewers out there who've made thorough videos about them. Really it's an ethics issue and not a fear of being exposed. Fanatec, Simlab and Asetek and companies alike are against paying reviewers. If Barry has to be paid why would anyone else review them for "free" if they're not being paid? And then there is the issue about being impartial after receiving a payment...
@@emilkofod Barry has reviewed both Fanatec and simlab products , also companies that make higher end products. Asertek have never made sim pedals before. Barry doesn’t charge companies to give them a bias review, he charges them because nobody goes to the depth he does, ( maybe Boosted Media is closest) Barry will completely dismantle your product inside out and give you his professionally paid assessment. I think ethics is misused in this situation, receiving free products would encourage biased reviews to continue getting more products. All that said, I hope you have a great experience with your pedals, I’ll wait to hear what the masses say when officially to the public.
@@HERMITBOY Barry has only recently started taking fees, that's why alot of those companies will not send him stuff anymore. Fanatec, Sim-Lab Asetek etc. It's a shame because that's what the people want and instead he make these kind of videos with a product from a company we've never heard of. And thanks i currently have Heusinkveld sprints and that new brake cylinder mechanism is pretty wonderful and i know it will be good. I've not heard anyone say a bad thing about it really. I'm sure it will be worth the upgrade. :)
Hey, watching a lot of your videos these days. Which cockpick (excl. seat and extras) would you recommend for about EUR/USD 400-700? Got a fanatec GT DD Pro
I have the GT DD PRO too, I buyed the Next Level Racing F-GT frame. I was mounting it yesterday. To me it’s the best value for money. $399 usd, $425 with shipping. It’s only the frame without seat, since I have a bucket seat already. But the frame comes with everything, even shifter mount and a buttkicker mount. The frame looks very good in the matte black finish and it’s very solid with the strenghtening kit. The other option is a Trak Racer, I can’t remember the name right know. It cost $469 frame only with all the extras included except seat. I don’t know about the shipping. That was the one I wanted, but they don’t ship where I live.
Great review as always. You're the best! Would have liked to see your review on the H+ Sequential Shifter they make. I'm sure it's excellent. I see they have a life time warrant also.
I have just checked out their website. They have some excellent gearbox solutions, from modifying an H-Layout gearbox to either a dual flappy paddle system or a single push-pull paddle to the very impressive entirely hand-controlled setup to suit the needs of disabled drivers. I have my fingers crossed that in the future, they may be selling push-pull solutions for we rally mad sim racers. Do you have any sway with MME that you could find out if they have a sim push-pull shifter in the works, or if not, perhaps mention there is a market for these shifters? Looking at their current setups, they practically have the components manufactured, so all that they would need to do is make an adapter plate to suit a range of wheelbases and either a USB or plug to fit Fanatec's DD range. I've been looking for ages to find a push-pull shifter for my DD1 base. Stay safe, mate. 🙃👍 Oh, BTW, this is a very addictive channel, love your review process Barry; I haven't found anyone who comes close to your thoroughness. I always wait for your reviews before buying anything. Then there's the kit I'll never afford, but it's still fun to watch you go through the "Sim Racing Garage Review Process."
Doesn't Ascher Racing make a push-pull shifter paddle or is that discontinued? Also you don't need Barry to talk to MME, just email them. You can ask them how much something like that would cost and that will show them that there is a market.
Barry I absolutely love your reviews, I swear by them, but you made such a big deal about those two middle mounting holes being too close together, you don't need 4 bolts to mount this thing properly, the two outermost are plenty, let alone 3, there would be no noticeable difference whatsoever, I don't understand why you harped on that so much, it's not an issue at all

Hi Barry, when are you planning on doing a csl dd review?
Where is the fanatec gran turismo DD PRO disassembly?

What is the name of those corner brackets and where do i get them? My rig came with plastic ones, im not a fan. The metal ones looks much better.
Hoping to see a review of “ Asertek Invicta Pedals” . A lot of reviews on it, but It needs to go through the “Barry Gold standard” before I buy.
He will not, Asetek have reached out to him and asked him to do a review. However Barry takes a fee for his reviews which is againts Aseteks ethics.
