Right, which is the most highly suspicious behavior in modern track and field history. SAFP was running 13 second 100m PBs at 17/18 then wins Gold 3 years later? She's not the only one but she's the one who stands out the most. Then she gets faster in her mid 30s? No, not possible not in track. Even Bolt was sort of a fluke even with his U20 world record in the 200m. He set it at 18, had another 1.5 to improve on it but basically ran the same time from then until 2008 with some minor exceptions. Elaine the same. Her PB was 11.8 at 18 but she hadn't run under 12 since 2006 until 2013 then 2 years later she wins with 10.84? She ran 24.20 in the 200m at 20 years old and 23.23 at 22 years old. Then she ran 21.66 the next year? Here is the one issue for Kishane, in 2013 5 Jamaicans failed drug tests. Asafa Powell, Sherone Simpson, Veronica Campbell Brown were the main ones but in also SAFP, Nesta Carter and many others were failing and Dr. Paul Wright said that Jamaica was getting away with murder in terms of drug testing not being carried out. Since then Jamaicans have not been able to be as free as they once were and that clearly applies to Kishane. That's why he's barely left the island and until the end of last season Nkrumie was faster than Kishane 4 years in a row starting when Nkrumie was 14. Kishane is 4 years older than Nkrumie and he was still losing to a child? Now he's the world leader? 😂

@chuckdeuces911 I think Jamaicans are just naturally fast even outside of Jamaica, what are the odds the fastest Canadian in history is Jamaican, the fastest Japanese man in history has a Jamaican father, the top 2 fastest british men in history have Jamaican heritage, the fastest british woman in history has Jamaican parents, the fastest Australian woman in history has a Jamaican father, fastest American woman over 400m in history is Jamaican, current fastest collegiate woman over 100m has Jamaican heritage, current fastest American woman over 200m has Jamaican heritage and is 4th all time behind 2 Jamaicans and FLOJO, even Ato Boldon himself has a Jamaican parent and he's the fastest man over 200m in Trinidad history. I don't think this is by coincidence.

Yet another Jamaican fan who's turned clairvoyant and thinks they have the bead on American hopes. If Kishane wins gold we in the US realize it is the near- equivalent of the return of Christ for you in Jamaica. How do we know this? It is your national obsession right now. It fills your podcasts, sports shows, and social media. We hope Noah wins, better yet we'd love to see a US sweep. But if not, we'll get our share in the multitude of other events on and off the track. I'm taken aback at the intense focus and attention you island folks are bringing to this one race.

Nah we aren't hoping for Thompson to fail. We love fast times and have actually shown more respect to blake than you guys have. Naturally Americans would prefer Lyles or Kerley to win,but if kishane wins in 9.6 something we will be happy nevertheless. If we get stomped in the 100 we always have the 200. Plus football about to start. Track is our entertainment til then.

@fredball8240 we don't compare Christ to any man because the all supreme God cannot be compared to humans. Humans are no match for Christ.
We don't want to have the bead on any Americans' hopes as you put it. We similarly just cheer and support our athletes and speak positivity over them. Any bead of hope it will be the other way around based on a lot of the Americans put in social media.
We care zero about other events that the Americans want to win and get gold. All we care about are the events our althetes participate in, whether they win gold, sliver, bronze, or no medals at all, so please don't get it twisted.

But ppl are sleeping on Noah’s Lyles track IQ….. he gone from 200m specialist to the one to beat in 100m and 200m whilst getting better. Having potential is one thing. Knowing how to get that out of you is what he’s mastered. I think he’ll figure out how to run faster. And that’s something I don’t think Kishane is prepared for.

I still give Lyles the bene, simply because he is a gamer, and wants completely diff results than Tokyo. But it's extremely exciting for the sport to know that we're looking at such a mixed bag of possible podiums.Hell, we don't even know who's not going to flub and fail to make it out of the rounds. The way Kerley got humbled and was on 'Sprint' talking about giving up candy, shows you how real this sport is.

Ato knows better than to refer to experience being a factor when it comes to Kishane. I know he knows the sport too well and knows the psychological master that is Franno to believe what is coming out of his mouth. I'll just say go back to 2008 and beyond and count how many of Franno's athletes have won gold with so called experience. And I say so called because for many of these athletes, they are use to pressure just being a track athlete in Jamaica. Jamaica is the biggest track and field nation in the world and nothing is more pressure than competing in Jamaica through high school and at trials etc.
People forget, Kishane did compete at trials last year and he also competed on the circuit and ran 9.85s and he competed against a good field a few weeks ago and executed the race like a seasoned veteran. He won't be phased at the Olympics and rounds is not an issue. The Jamaican trials mimic the same schedule as the Olympics in the 100m and we saw what he did there.
I have Kishane, Oblique, Noah in that order. Noah hasn't beaten Oblique this year 😊

As a top American sprinter as a child, I’m considered tall for a female (5’8”), yet the two sprinters who were faster than me were much shorter than me. They were the size of Shelly Ann. Others who saw me run as a child said the same. The fastest female sprinters are often short.
Because I look the sprints, I was one of the few among my American among my many Facebook friends who cheered for Shelly Ann in past Olympics. However, I wouldn’t consider her the all-time best sprinter. My all-time favorite sprinter is Carmelita Jeter, and pre Jeter my favorite sprinter was the GOAT: FloJo. Also, Alyson Felix, prior to her pregnancy, was a remarkably diverse champion sprinter. However, after her pregnancy, she didn’t recover like Shelly Ann. 👍🏽🇺🇸

World's fastest man is a title given to the winner of the world championships or olympics so why would Lyles mock himself. If Thompson. Seville or whoever wins the 100 at Paris they will be called the World's fastest man until next year's world championships even if someone runs a faster time than them.

If he ran 9.77 and eased off in the last 20 metres. 9.67 or better should be within him. 9.58 is a whole other story. But we will see. I think at least two men are going sub 9.75 in this final.

@cosmicwisdom999 time wise third fastest behind Thompson and omanyala but as I stated before the world's fastest man title goes to the winner of the most recent world or olympic championship and they get to keep it for a whole year until the next championship. So if Thompson beats Lyles at the olympics he will be officially crowned the world's fastest man. Let's say Thompson runs 9.7 to win at the olympics and then Thompson decides to run at a diamond league meet and gets beat by Seville who runs 9.69. Thompson would still be the world's fastest man despite Seville beating him with a faster time at a diamond league meet because that title can only be earned at a world championship or olympics.

Watch Kishane mash the World Record...I think he has it in him. So you know my hopes are waaaay up for Kishane...lol....Love Noah, but he may have to settle for the silver this Olympics or even tie with Oblique (if he shows up...lol).
