Okay, Guys, I figured out what's wrong that some people can't see this vid. It has a third party claim on it for the music in the background, which I'm fine with, but once you guys kept telling me you couldn't see it, I checked more into it, and it also says that this video can't be played on certain devices. I'm thinking that maybe the third party claimant put that there because they're concerned they won't get ad revenue from those sources... Sorry about this, guys. I'd never seen this before. :-(

I guess I didn't properly frame what I meant. I did remember about the destruction of Namek, but I thought destroying a planet required more effort than just basically punching it... I thought there was more of a build-up of power involved. I was obviously wrong.

Frieza wasn't on the ground when you saw him destroy planets before, so this is the first time you can appreciate his power.
He actually sent an energy blast through the earth to blow up the planet. It was not a simple punch.
We did not see the energy build up because his hands were directly on the ground.
Sorbet, the guy who got blown up at 5:28, was the one who "sucker" shot Goku.
Goku was warned by Whis at the beginning of this movie, when he and Vegeta were training, to not be overconfident and to relaxed.
I believe you also watched that scene it was the Goku and Vegeta vs Whis "Battle".
Both Goku and Vegeta were to lenient and underestimated Freeza, so Freeza destroyed Earth as a last resort (yes by this point the main characters and villains can easily destroy planets if they want to).
Since Freeza can survive in the vacuum of space he most probably survived the explosion with ease. Way back in the Namek Saga he even survived when Planet Namek exploded even though he was severely wounded (he was cut in half by his own Energy Disc and was shot with an beam by Goku in the face afterwards).
Thankfully Whis has the ability to turn back time for about 3 minutes, which he also states in the beginning of the movie (also in the Goku and Vegeta vs Whis fight you watched).
After Whis turned back time Goku is the one to quickly finish of Freeza with an Kame-Hame-Ha so sadly Vegeta doesn't get his "true revenge" against Freeza for destroying the Home Planet of the Saiyans.
Hopefully this clears up ALL your confusion ;).
Don;t forget Whis also warned Vegeta that he is to Rigid and over calculating in combat where he hesitates when the enemy does something unexpected... like Frieza aiming at the planet instead of him.

Ya, Freeza even when we first met him could blow up planets TEN TIMES denser than our own. The more you know.
Trusty Patches Just about every fighter in DB besides Tien, Chaoitzu and Yamcha can blow up planets. I mean piccolo at his weakest state in DBZ could blow up the moon and Vegeta when he first appeared was able to pop planets like mushy grapes.
Akkato, I am aware of the more absurd feats in Dragonball such as kid Goku outrunning light and master Roshi blowing up the moon.
Do Mo They all can blow up up the planet. Vegeta blew up a planet bigger than earth during the sayian saga. Hes power level was below 10 thousand.

I think he meant how quickly and easily he did it. All he really did was press his hands on the ground and the planet started blowing up. It literally took him a couple of seconds to do it. No one saw it coming, not even Vegeta who was standing right in front of him. Sure, he could blow up planets pretty easily than most characters before but this one was on a whole other level than what he was doing before.

I second that. Definitely should watch Super Saiyan God Goku VS. Beerus. ALTHOUGH THE DRAGON BALL SUPER VERSION of this fight was actually much better than the movie version in alot of ways, for one it's longer. The animation isn't quite as high budget but the actual fight is better.

Vegeta hands down has the BEST character development of ANYONE in the entire DBZ/DBS series. THIS is why Vegeta is my absolute favorite character. As he is the best at being.. Well, a Character.
Pretty much everyone in the show has the ability to destroy planets. Vegeta was able to do that at the very beginning of the show when he was first introduced. So yeah, Frieza could easily destroy the planet.
a couple of the human z-fighters might not be able to though. it still does take a pretty high level of power for humans.
Bobby Rare all of the humans except for rossi could easily destroy a planet if they wanted to

After the Earth is destroyed Whis tells the remaining Z Warriors that he has the ability to reverse time up to 5 minutes.
Whis reverses time to before Frieza blows up the planet so they can kill him before he blows it up again

One of my fav line's ever, I'm a huge Vegeta and Frieza fan and I was very pleased with the outcome of this fight.

Basically, Like in the original fight, Frieza fired an attack directly at the planets core. On Namek, this caused the planet to destabilise and eventually explode, whereas Earth blew up in a few seconds.
The Staff at the end was Whis.
Frieza's always had the power to destroy planets.
He taught vegeta the technique as well. In the manga i believe.
Vegeta: "whis tryed to warn you and yet here you are i guess your always a naive idiot."

Quick rundown of this, yes, freiza has always had the power to destroy planets, ever since his first appearence even before cell, second, yes, the planet does get destroyed but whiss uses his temporal destortion power to restore it to give goku a second chance and third, this entire clip/fight is from the movie "Dragon Ball z: Resurrection of Frieza" which is set years after gokus fight with beerus which was from the earlier movie "Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods" which was set months after kid buu was killed, these two movies marked the return of dragon ball after a long time without the series since it ended and had much higher budget than the series
Frieza could easily destroy earth or any other planet even back when they were on namek. don't forget it was him who blew up planet vegeta in his weakest base form when glum was a baby.

5:34 Yeah that was Commander Sorbet the one who revived Freeza at the start of the film. He's also the one who shot Goku with a ray gun since that was the back-up plan he Freeza came up with in case Freeza was losing.

1) Freeza had no idea that Geetz was even a base Super Saiyan.
2) Yeah, pretty much every main non-human character can blow up planets. Vegeta blew Arlia up with but his fingertips at the very beginning of the show, when everyone was a weekling.
And Freeza did destry Namek, so yeah, he could do that.

That was a pretty bad video that you watched, because they added that song in editing, and it completely overpowered most of voices as you noted.
most likely the intent of the video was to people who already seen the movie, and wanted to see parts of it again. Most people that looked it up probably seen the movie already as it is.

The scepter was Whis, who was shielding himself, Beerus, and the people surrounding them.
On Freeza, if you remember, back on the bug planet early on Vegeta blew it up with one hand. Even beat up, Frieza could do that easily at this point.

what happened was that freeza destroyed the planet earth after losing to vegeta. that scepter was Whis putting a little protection bubble around Beerus, Krillin and the others to save them. then you learn Whis can turn back time up to 3 minutes into the past and Whis uses this power so that Goku can kill Freeza before he blows up the planet (and since vegeta was far away from whis, he wasn't saved from the destruction of earth. so when they turn back time, he doesn't remember anything that happened) he's still alive though, don't worry

That Goku downfall up til lately had been his saving grace too, helping him to become stronger. And spare Vegeta. But he has to learn to never drop his guard, and recently, to master ki.
Vegeta himself has had the power to erase planets just by pointing at them. Whis uses his scepter to rewind time and they kick Friezas ass.
Frieza blows up the planet, whis protects Goku and friends,(That was the purple bubble) Whis can rewind time by 3 minutes and does so to allow Goku to kill Frieza before he blows the planet up, basically.

Those two with the scepter, they were gods. They gave them one chance to save their planet, and when it came, Goku rushed in to stop him, despite getting the usual earful from vegeta, goku stopped him in time. Frieza always had that power from the very start.
You have to see further somehow. Frieza has always had the power to destroy a planet at any time. He was to obsessed with revenge to just destroy it in the first place. Same thing that happened when Goku fought Frieza the first time. Frieza just fuckec up his blast and didn't destroy Namek immediately. Here, Frieza held nothing back. There should be plenty of videos showing the aftermath of this moment.

It was actually Frieza's soldier named Sorbet who shot him with a ray gun by Frieza's orders. Frieza didn't actually say anything to Sorbet, but Sorbet knew what he was trying to say.
Loved the clip bud, the music was too loud I belive because that wasn't the normal soundtrack. I'm pretty sure that was added by someone. I'll have to pop the original movie in and look in a bit!

Frieza has always had the power to pretty much effortlessly blow up planets. Even beat down, blowing up a planet would be childs play to someone as strong as him.
Curtis Friezas been strong enough to blow up planets since it introduced him. He blew up vegetas whole planet with a blast from one finger.

It only takes a power level of around 10,000 - 20,000 to detroy a planet. Frieza's power level at this point was something rediculous like 300,000,000,000. Hence the fact he was able to destroy Earth with ease, despite the fact he has used up nearly all his energy by the end of the fight.
Freiza could sneeze a planet apart when he first showed up. At least he got his aim right this time...

I'm late to the party but I figured I'd mention Freezer blew up planet Vegeta in his base form casually.
At this point every character (even the group around Krillin and Co.) could blow up a planet casually. So Freeza even worn down like this is totally able to do that. It's the first time it happens in an instance with nothing for anyone to do about it, but yeah, basically everyone could blow up earth any time.
However Whis used his magical powers to protect the people around him and later rewinds time, so they can safe earth.
It was Frieza's second in command that shot Goku while his guard was down (The blue guy that Vegeta Killed).

You should watch the universe 6 vs universe 7 tournament. You can find the entire tournament on TH-cam split into multiple parts for each fight.
