Long story short, the animators apparently didn't know what colors to use for Vegeta because the manga is in black and white so this is what they came up with. Then it was fixed when they got an official colored design for him.
Ease up on full explainations for the whole history of DBZ. Recommend letting him enjoy the show and pause when questions are asked or answers given concerning confusion. If you do this right, you'll earn the eye of us older folks that love ya'll watchin' our historical DBZA awesome. Eiither way, enjoy.
Gumshoe has a genuine interest in learning about DB as a franchise and specifically asked me to explain things to him. As we said at the beginning he genuinely knows nothing other than a random fact or two or a few memes. As we stated, I have seen the abridged and he has not. The first few episodes are definitely reliant on jokes about the characters as if u know them, which he does not, so there is more need for exposition here than most of the other episodes. - Taiyo
"The villains are always looking for me so if I stay dead it's for the best." Means the villains will come looking for you anyway but now they'll kill everyone because no one is strong enough to stop them.

But it was confusing for people to find out in the west because DBZ being the sequel to DB (and like chapter 100+ in the manga of DB) but DBZ being the first to be released through cartoon network. So a lot of people watched DBZ before they ever watched DB (thankfully, a lot of DBZ you can understand without knowing what happened)
Uhh doubt. In 1985 like...5 or 6 episodes were dubbed as a test, that failed and it was 1995 before it was tried again, and then it was dubbed fully. So you might have seen a few episodes during the test phase but that's about it
Plenty of people died in the original DB, the first Main character ro die was Krilling. DBZ Kai had the sayan, namec, and android saga, then they also Made the buu saga in 2014
The reason power levels were added was essentially to be discarded. Saiyan saga and eventually namek saga was used to show how the Z fighters were able to sense ki without the use of tech and how that could be used to trick the frieza force
If memory serves, Dragon Ball Z Kai went from the Saiyan Saga to Cell Saga. I think they took a break then kinda rebranded it to "Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters" for the Buu Saga for some reason.

You miss too much of what happens if you don't pause, and as a bonus, it gets through TH-cams copyright BS easier b/c your content is seen as more "transformative". Also, it's unbearable to watch a reaction to something where the reactors aren't paying attention to the content they're supposed to be watching. I hope you enjoy DBZA regardless, have a good one.
