      Excellent video! I have access to a dremel 3000. I've really struggled getting the results I want. Would you say the power is just not strong enough and I need to upgrade to a 4000?

    Why is someone as talented and skilled as you on TH-cam!? You could teach a masterclass with this level of conciseness and accuracy! Every question I had about skull carving was answered in this one video and not a single part was boring or unclear. Thank. You. So. Much!

    Very helpful, thank you! I wish more people were into this hobby/craft. Everyone I mention skull carving to thinks it is morbid until they see a finished product and then they love it. You are a great ambassador for it. Keep up the good work!

    I have been so hesitant to start really getting into carving because of the information out there. After a lot of searching on different platforms for information that I can understand as I am a hands on learner, I finally found you. You make it very easy to understand and remember and I am now comfortable with jumping in. Thank you

      U.S. Skull Hunter thanks brother. I have started playing around with some carving as we have a lot of skulls in our garden.
      I have borrowed a dremel 3000 and wanted to ask your opinion on the advantages of the 4000 model over the 3000? As when it is time to by my own I do need to consider my budget closely.
      Also the skulls I am using are very chalky coloured and have been out in the sun for a long time. As I have not taken them through the degreasing process I see you discuss in a video I wonder if this is why it is hard for me to see my lines.

    • @usskullhunter
      @usskullhunter  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tolagan The advantage a 4000 has is just more torque and speed. You can certainly carve with a 3000 no problem though. You will just be able to work quicker with the 4000. Can you by chance send me a photo of a skull you are working on so I can see the lines you are talking about? I go by the same name on Facebook and Instagram U.S. Skull Hunter

      Hey Silas! Dawn is what most people use. Degreasing time will very depending on the skulls and how it was processed up to that point. Anywhere from a few weeks for smaller skulls to 60+ months for larger stuff. Yes, keeping it warm helps break down the grease.

    Where do you connect the foot pedal?

      You plug the dremel into the the pedal and then the pedal into the socket.

    How often do the burrs wear out? Just would hate to run out of supplies half way through

    • @usskullhunter
      @usskullhunter  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Gavin, it's hard to say but not often really. I honestly only buy 1 or 2 burrs every few months even with all the carving I do.

      Diamond dust burrs work great for that. Specifically cylinder burrs with rounded ends or tapered cylinder diamond burrs.

    This was a great video; thanks! In terms of order of operations, do you generally cut areas out first, or do you do the more superficial line work first? Also, do you have any recommendations for a medium to practice on whilst one is honing their skills? Wood?

    • @usskullhunter
      @usskullhunter  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Daniella! I don't necessarily have a set order but more often than not I do the cut out areas last. Well, nothing compares to carving skulls, but any practice is good in my opinion. You can pick up a beef bone though at most pet stores.
