As a fellow Alec who has just started getting into woodcarving/whittling, thank you so much for such thorough and detailed lessons. Really appreciate it and you’ve been a huge help!
The book is wonderful, inspiring and educational. I've been thru it several times now. I tend to carve more in the winter next to the wood stove. I may break that pattern, thank you Alec.
It's incredible how simply you make it look . What an awesome result , looking forward to your videos to keep on learning . Thanks for sharing your work and knowledge! Greetings from Colombia 🇨🇴 !
I can’t wait to do this one I started a native one also but had carpal tunnel and pinch nerve on my good right hand 😂surgery so getting back slowly just ordered your book and wood illustration thank you for all the videos I watch them all learning a lot
Great job Alec! I am definitely going to be giving that a go. Wish I could do one of your classes but have no interest in big cottonwood carvings. I am strictly a knife carver and that is why I love these knife only videos. Thanks for all you do for the art of carving wood. Be blessed :)
@AlecLaCasseArt Could you please tell me how you built the handheld strop? If you have time. Thanks. If not, I understand, you seem like a very busy man 👍🏻
Alec ! Do you not prefer the tri jack instead? One with the small detailer blade. No diss to this one u used. I’m just curious if you own the other cause I was thinking about buying it? Tu friend love what you carved
Alec i'd love to hear your opinion, or other wood carvers here.. Would it actually be possible to turn wood carving in to a full time job/career? That's my "big plan", because i want my career to be meaninful and important for me. I know it's going to be rocky road and i won't get rich doing it, but objectively speaking could it be possible to turn it into career over time? Is there a gap big enough in the market for me to strike in if i work hard and be patient/smart about it?
Your book came in . Great book, thanks. I would go as far as saying it is one of the best carving books on faces that i have. I have quite a few of them. Be tween you and ddalo_carver carver im starting to get fairly good at this thank you both . But Great book. You that carve and dont have it. Get it.
I grew up in Battle Creek, now live in southwest England where we buy fuel by the litre but talk miles per gallon and we measure with the metric system but I’m 5 feet 10 inches tall! Love watching your videos and hearing the familiar sounds in the background! Waiting for delivery of your book, looking forward to it.
Dude, I am just learning to carve at 60 and you make it look to,easy. Amazing watching you make that wood come alive.

I’m learning how to do carving not to hit any patterns you might advise to use. Or how free hand like you doing in video

Do you prefer a rough texture on the faces or sanding smooth
@@stanleyrokusek5477 I like it to be somewhere in between!
